I think Tom Keifer and Cinderella are one of the most underrated bands of all time - absolutely amazing
I think bands like Fifth Angel and Kingdom Come get a nod also.
I think so
He is a talented singer and guitar player but their style was too gaudy and effeminate. I like they did what they wanted to but their style was a bit too much.
@@virtualbeing5195 says you 🙄
@@virtualbeing5195so in other words you don’t like hair/glam metal because Cinderella was no different than most of the other bands and were the same way such as……Twisted Sister for starters
Cinderella was one of the greatest bands of 80s. And still sounds amazing.

No
Don't Know What You Got is classic.
I've always thought so to. The Night songs album is their greatest album in my opinion. A true classic album.🙂
I agree, saw them in 2011 at a county fair near me with firehouse and slaughter and it was an amazing show. Got to meet them except for Tom. He was on the bus. Good memories though
Tom is the most under appreciate writer of the 80’s. Dudes a beast.
They had some nice songs with melody and rhyme, but the lyrics could have been a bit better. He sounds great here and should play more guitar in concert. Great!
@@virtualbeing5195i think if you don't love Tom Keifer you must be crazy bc he fuckin rocks then & now!! I've seen your negativity on a couple of comments..
@@izzy_6283 I liked the band a lot. I put as much of that down. I just think they could have been better in ways. His voice is still great and his guitar playing which he's not well known for.
@@virtualbeing5195 I've always thought that he is mostly known for not only his amazing vocals but multi instrument playing ability, (guitar mainly) 🤷🏻♀️ maybe not by the younger generation but those of us who were teens in the 80s appreciate him the most. Im happy to say though that i have seen a lot of younger ones online who say they've discovered 80s Cinderella & love it!!
Cinderella music still stands today and how the hell is this band not in the rock and roll hall of Fame were is the justice Cinderella Every single song was awesome
I ask the same Thang myself
Seriously - Tom and the rest of Cinderella are AWESOME!
the rock and roll hall of fame became a joke when they inducted rappers and not rock bands
Absolutely robbed!!

That's truly true 🤘🏻
That's so cool Tom saying Michael Schenker is like nobody else blending blues with melody. In my opinion Tom Keifer took the art of blending blues and melody to a whole new level.
Yes he did. I got your back on that one.
He did he has his on sound and music but it's wonderful too I love cinderella aka tom
@@annettelones8178 Easliy as good as Motley Crue.
@@metalmike570Cinderella was a better band than Motley Crue just saying & i loved both
@@izzy_6283I've seen both Motley Crue and Cinderella in concert. And, there's no comparison. Cinderella had me convinced that they were lip syncing. Until Tom Keifer purposely strayed from what was on their album about three songs into the concert. Confirming that it was in fact live. Motley Crue had me wanting to leave the concert by their third song. They were horrible! Unlistenable. That's why they relied so heavily on a stage sideshows in concert. To distract you from the horrible choice you made purchasing a Motley Crue concert ticket.Cinderella could play circles around them frauds. Any day of the week.
Tom Keifer voice is incredible
unique hard to imitate 💯...👏
There is only one singer who sound a bit like him. Dean Davidson from Britny Fox. Check : Standing in the shadow of love
That's the truth man. Anyone can play most of that. Good luck sounding like that guy tho
Tom Keifer guitar playing is killer
and his voice is unique and powerful
can't be mistaken with other's singers
Cinderella was such an amazing band.. big part of my teen aged years... still to this day I play their songs on my bass guitar. Will always love their music.

All around musician. One of the best to ever do it. Cinderella is criminally underrated. They had a catalogue of music that stacks up against almost anybody else. As great a singer he is he's also an amazing guitarist and plays other instruments. Not to mention he seems like a real guy, not caught up in stardom. LEGEND
Yaaaasssss!! He is so humble.... I love to watch him play different instruments in Heartbreak Station! Beautiful...
Underrated?!
@@stanpopovsky That's what I said
Not caught up in stardom....hence the dark shades indoors...lol
@@EZSQRL Except that Tom wears the shades because he's shy and introverted, not because he thinks he's too cool to take them off like Gene Simmons.
most of Cinderella's stuff is heavy blues based. great guitarist and writer.
Yeah man. Love it. Makes me remember being a kid.
Agreed, great distinct voice and too bad he had some voice issues.

I love Tom Kiefer because he's a great front man and great guitar player who should deserve a lot more than credit. My condolences to Tom Kiefer and Cinderella for the death of Jeff LeBar. RIP Jeff LeBar.

That slide guitar part in Bad Seamstress Blues, is still one of my favorite pieces of music. That song just never gets old.
I love the riff from Gypsy Road. Falling Apart at the Seams is Cinderella's best.
I love falling apart at the seams. That beginning riff he was playing when the song picks up just makes me wanna head bang

i sure miss these bands from the 80's, great music, great times!
I totally agree mate. Great times
I'm the opposite ... I've only just started to discover these guys, because back in the 80s I was stuck on listening to blues, and the only 'rock' artists I listened to were Deep Purple, Rory Gallagher, Johnny Winter & Rick Derringer. Where I lived, LP albums were hard to come by and money was tight, plus I had other interests (motorcycles & ham radio). So just recently, since Pandora & iHeart Radio became a thing on the internet, I decided to listen to Krokus because a friend is a frontman singer in a Krokus cover band (yes, a cover band of a cover band ... great stuff!). Then through iHeart Radio I stumbled across Dokken (I LOVE THAT BAND!!!), which I saved as ' favourite' in iHeart Radio, and of course I'm now hearing Cinderella, Telsla, Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Warrant, Ratt, Kix, Twisted Sister, Great White, Scorpions of course, Poison, Lynch Mob of (love George's guitar tone & chord phrasing). Musically, the glam metal bands of the 80s are just absolute superstars ... the musical arrangements, vocals, guitar tone & technical skills, plus top bass & drum skills ... so many artists were right up there, total music Gods. Whilst I didn't get into them 30 years ago, now I am ... great music 'for the road' when I'm driving. Some time back I hit a horrible patch in my life, battling depression & anxiety, but once I started listening to these glam metal / American rock 'hair bands' loud in my car, my morale instantly improved and I seem to cope well in my daily life. The thing that amazes me most is the musical creativity of these glam metal bands who just knew how to put the whole package together. A big thanks to Loudwire & Tom Keifer for this UA-cam clip! :)
@@Jonathan-L So glad you are getting to enjoy the soundtrack to my youth. You are so correct when saying the 80's rock is a uplifting of your spirits. That's what made that music so great. It was mostly about having fun. Then the 90's came in with its gloom and depression. As Poison said " just looking for a good time". That's all America did in the 80's. Was have a good time. Keg parties every weekend. Maybe a fist fight now and then. But, nothing like shootouts of today's parties.
And you were so right speaking of the musical talent of the 80's bands. Some best Musicians ever. Every band had a rippin guitarist, BadAss rhythm section. And the lead singers had something that made them great. Whether it be singing, song writing, or a great showman.
Thanks to modern technology. I have about every album worthy of owning from the late 60's thru the early 90's. The greatest era of rock music ever.
I am thrilled that you are experiencing the rush of that music. That we felt during the day. Singing the Whitesnake album all drunked up at a keg party. Getting stoned and drunk to "Appetite for Destruction" album. Rockin "Lynch Mob" extremely loud in our earth shaking sound systems.
Thanks for your post. It took me down memory lane for a few.
@@billthornton847 Many thanks for your heart warming reply Bill. When I grew up as a kid, the first 'rock' music I heard was probably The Beatles (and whatever else was popular on the radio, once we could afford a radio!). In the early 70s, my favourite was Joe Cocker, then in the mid 70s I was a fan of SAHB (Alex Harvey!), then got into blues in a big way, thinking that no other music style mattered to me, so that really stuck with me. In the late 80s & 90s, the 'guitar gods' just didn't do it for me ... ie, Satriani, Malmsteen, Vai ... amazing talent, but I just couldn't get that 'gee whiz feeling' from those guys, however I respect them very much as musos & great guys in real life. But the 90s glam metal hair bands really DO IT for me ... as I said it's the 'whole package' of the band thing, not just some guy shredding into a hi-gain amp. The good thing about the 80s glam metal bands is that they all helped each other set a new standard of musicality, and whilst there were some similar sounding bands, they were all skilled enough to differentiate from each other to please their listeners. I'm more than happy to switch from Dokken to UFO, or from Ratt to Tesla and not try to make comparisons ... they're all so good. I remember back in 1984 I bought Rick Derringer's "Good Dirty Fun" album and some of the tracks on that one sounded so good that I thought "hey, I don't need to listen to anything else" ... which was silly of me because I didn't explore the glam metal bands of the era, hence I missed out. Never mind, I'm still around in my late 50s now and just getting into it ... listening to glam metal makes me feel 21 again (not joking!). Yes, you're right, the 80s were fun times, and the girls were really hot looking too!

Cinderella should be in it. Such awesome music they play.Tom Kiefer such a great and talented man.❤❤❤
Tom Keifer is a helluva talented musician. He still, in 2023, puts on the best show I've seen and his voice is awesome.
Cinderella was my first show in 86, opening for BJ on Slippery in Little Rock. From the first riff, they killed it. It's 35 years later and I still remember how good Keifer was. He played rhythm, he soloed, he sang. Audience went batshit. Keifer still talks about Little Rock to this day. Said it was the first place that made him feel like a star. A good, humble dude and criminally underrated as a guitarist.
My sister bought me tickets for my 11th birthday and it was my first show Feb 12 1987. I remember it to this day.
I've seen Cinderella several times, the first was when they opened for Bon Jovi in 1987, and Tom never failed to rock the house! He's an incredible talent!
Keif was such a great rocker … unmistakeable vocal killer song writer and guitarist and a great guy ta boot !
Night songs is a heavy song. Very different than the other tracks on that album that are also great. I bought it when it came out after hearing shake me, and the title track just blew me away. It still holds up to this day.

I used to hang out in a bar called the Galaxy in Somerset New Jersey, back in the early 80's. Cinderella wasn't even signed to a label yet. They played there all the time and I drank beers and even played some pool with these guys. Bon Jovi was signed not long before I started hanging out there and there were a couple other bands who eventually got signed but the 2 big acts were Bon Jovi and Cinderella. Ivey Tower was signed but I don't think they got very far in the music biz...I could be wrong. I was dating a girl named Lisa who was good friends with Tommy's wife. After Cinderella got signed, they did come back to the bar a few times and if my memory serves me correctly, they didn't change as far as to their being approachable. All of the guys in the band were cool. I miss those days. UPDATE: I've been corrected...the township was Somerdale not Somerset. Sorry...it's been awhile. =)
pretty close bro....the Galaxy was in Somerdale New Jersey....South Jersey...Somerset is up north and yes they did play there almost every weekend before they were signed....

So funny that I managed a boot store in Cherry Hill New Jersey. Tom walked in spent about 800 ( on his American Express Black card. I’ve never ever seen one of those!! ) for a pair of black ostrich boots a leather duster and some western shirts. He wanted to wear the boots so I told himscuff up the bottoms out back on this pavement so he could walk through the mall without slipping. What a memory!! very cool and quiet guy. This was in 1996!!
The word on Cinderella back in the day amongst musicians I knew was that they slung their guitars around and that was about it. Then I saw them live. Tom Keifer came out 10' tall wearing those boots, leaning back and just ripped us all a new ass. I was awestruck and a fan for life. Cinderella and Tom Keifer were just incredible. I had no idea he could sing AND play like that.
Saw him play live a few years back, so fucking good still.

My very first exposure to Cinderella got me HOOKED for LIFE
It was around 1990, I was 19 years old, already a huge 80s “hair-metal” fan, but somehow missed being exposed to Cinderella until one night, at a friend’s home, while PEAKING on some really clean LSD, he pops in a (store-bought, not home-made) VHS concert tour video on a small television on a carpeted floor in a very small living room and says...
“watch THIS!”

I'm sorry if you missed the 80's. You'll never know what it was like
For starters we had freedom.
Everyone had a family robot like on Rocky 4. We evolved backwards somehow in the 90's.
Man that's the truth. You cannot live the '80s again. I don't know what it was about it, but the music was incredible especially when it was fresh. Cinderella, Warranty, Poison. It was good. Kiss was good all of those bands were great. They can't compare that today they don't know what that's about. But we who live the '80s know cuz we lived it.
@@mitchmcconnel I had two family robots. And my own Uncle Pauly.
Let me check... mostly inoffensive but garbage music on the radio (minus some good stuff that gets remembered), cool shit in the underground, parents hate what the kids like, video games, and political/social unrest and turmoil leading to an underlying fear for one's life. Yeah, no, things seem the same, just a different coat of paint.
I was 15 in 1985 and it was a *GLORIOUS* time to be a metalhead. Cinderella, Motley Crue and all the others going at the time was just killer. My 76 Camaro had an Alpine system in it that was so good. Cranking Gypsy Road in that car on my way to a Dio/Dokken concert are the kinds of memories I have growing up. Ozzy/Accept, Hagar with I Can't Drive 55...Iron Maiden Somewhere on Tour...the list is long and awesome!

I was riding with my dad into town one day and he put on an 80s rock CD he just burned (in ye olde year of 2009 when burning CDs was still kind of a thing) the first song that came in was "bad seamstress blues" and I've been in love with 80s music ever since
My boss showed me badseamstress. It was so chunky and fast and metal that I was hooked ever since.
I’m sure most reading this are very familiar with Tom and his Guitar prowess, but the general populace doesn’t appreciate just how good of an all-around master of music he was/is. His Songwriting, Vocals, Musical Composition, and incredible Lead Guitarist abilities are in a league of their own. I’ve had the pleasure of turning many people on to this amazing artist. Jeff LaBar (rip) was a great showman and guitarist, but Tom’s leads were on another level early in Cinderella’s successful run. His song writing was also amazing. I especially love the way he wrote a Prelude to AC-DCs “You Shook Me All Night Long” via “Shake Me”…very clever. There’s so much I could say about Tom, but I just have to sum it up be saying I have the utmost respect and love of his creations, abilities, and career.
@theroaddawg truth 💣💣💣

Your one of my inspirations.
Love those blue riffs. Your music helped me get through some bad times. Thank you.
