FOR ANYONE WHO IS CONCERNED!! Many larger birds such as this vulture can have difficulty hatching on their own, and it can happen with smaller birds too! Sometimes it is NECESSARY to help the baby bird, because they will DIE otherwise!! You can see in the video that they are very delicate with the process and they are even using water to help loosen things up. Remember: this is a ZOO that posted this. There are wildlife experts that know how to do this without harming the bird.
I heard about how people in bird sanctuaries do this to help the little chicks when they're having trouble hatching on their own I just hope that it was actually time for the little one to hatch, but he was making a lot of chirps when he was in the egg so I assume it was time
How is it hatching 🐣 if your breaking the shell ???? Hatching means it’s happening on it’s own which is usually what happens when humans stay out of the way he don’t even look like he’s ready to be born yet if he was the egg would crack on it’s own not you pulling it apart
You are correct. Hatching is a delicate process, and with all birds, vultures included, the chick needs time to emerge from its egg so that it doesnt come out pre-mature.
It’s likely that this chick was malpositioned or facing other difficulties which may have prevented its ability to naturally hatch. One of the condor chicks at the LA Zoo had to be assisted in hatching because of similar issues.

They should've put him back in the incubator so he won't get cold
Very cute but i think they should hatch theirselves
It was struggling to get out off its egg
💙In love with this cute little thing

Not a bird expert but he seems okay. The chirping is a really good indicator he was ready to come out.
This vulture chick didn't hatch you pulled it out of its egg.
At least it’s cute
He/she did that because the chicken was struggling to get out off its egg
Thank you for sharing this video!
Wow
why are you forcing it?
It didnt even hatched, you literally took it out the egg 🤦🏻♂️
