I could be wrong but using a bigger motor with the original speed controller won’t make much of a difference you should use a hobby grade esc to get max potential

If you change the gear ratio you can make it one hell of a fast little car with that big motor or if you ran more power to it

Cool quick way to do it I just took a motor out of a Goodyear hand back for my car wasn't great at sucking up stuff when you work construction at leastand I'm about to installed in my son's RC car to make it faster zip ties are a good idea but if that tire actually got grip wooden the motor just spin in the zip ties I guess you don't have to worry about that though because those tires aren't really super grippy

I got metal shavings near my motor, would a heavy magnet hurt the motor if I run it close to get the shavings out that are to far in to reach or what should I do?

that motor can handle a bigger battery but you could have did the same thing with rechargeable batteries and just wired positive to negative and ran it in a series
