Great to look back and see how they changed! - Розваги
How I wish we could all go back to that simpler time. I loved being a 70's kid.
Oh yeah the polio was great. Dumbass
There was a polio vaccine created in the 1950s. It was hardly around in the 1970s due to the vaccine. By 1979 it was gone. Obviously a millennial who has no clue about history and vaccines.
I was born in 1978 and remember watching this series and now own the DVD's. I also remember Dick Van Patten doing ads for Jiffy Lube and Oldsmobile. His three sons also acted......LOL at the millennial comment. I remember one millennial saying that people who existed before the 90's were not all that intelligent. It seems to be the other way around.
Yeah, it was simpler because technology was advanced enough to let you see the real world on a regular basis. I enjoy old shows like this, but they don't make me want to live in the past. I prefer to see them for what they were and still look forward to the future.
@@zapkvr By the 1970s, they didn't even give the polio vaccine any more because it had been eradicated. If you are going to call some a "dumbass", don't flub your basic facts.
This really is one of the best shows ever...
Yes one of many in the 80's. Special decade never to be again !
This was from the 70s.
Thank you for posting this. Eight is Enough is one of those underrated, forgotten shows. I'm glad to see someone still remembers it.
@Sharon Hudson true but it’s bot a show that comes to mind when discussing the 1970s
One of my favorite family tv shows 😀👍
The song is by far one of the best TV theme songs ever. I used to love watching this show.
Watching this is so bittersweet.....it makes you realize how much we have lost over the decades. Just think of our dear departed loved ones....missed opportunities.... diminished physical health and vigor......broken friendships.......those words we wish we should have said.....even today loss of personal freedoms and basic human dignity.....sigh....you can't go home again....
Today was the Las Vegas shooting. The most deadliest shooting in our country's modern day history. Came across this on youtube just now and smiled for the first time today. Miss the innocence of what America used to be.
I understand how you feel. :)
People were better than now no question about it!!!!!
Me to
I looked forward to this show every week in the 70s when I was in high school. I loved all five of the Girls, of course; but I particularly loved Betty Buckley.
I loved Diana Hyland, and it was sad that she passed, but Betty Buckley was a great replacement.
My fav was Kay
Mary Joanie Nancy Susan Elizabeth David tommy Nicholas later yrs Jeremy👍😀
Anyone know where we can stream this show. Would love to watch it all again

The kids acted and dressed just like our pals from suburban Detroit back then and the family was how we thought of "family"... I guess that"s why we tuned in and loved them. Good job being one of our Country's "Dads", Mr. Van Patten! Love , part of your family.
Superb Comment!!!!!
Dick van Patten's auto is called 'Eighty is not Enough', and he lived to 86. RIP; thank you; you will be remembered for all the joy you gave. BTW we saw this show in Zambia and Zimbabwe, southern Africa, and we now live in India. Truly, the world is a better place because of you.
Hello, and thanks for the heads up on his book! Late , but still here😅
"There's a plate of homemade wishes on the kitchen windowsill" *sniff*
Thank you, Mr. Bradford, for being part of my elementary school years. I just recently, purposely, re-grew my hair to look like Nicholas.' Yes, I have a 70's bob. I love you. You'll always be a class act to my family.
Awesome!!!!!!!
I was born in 78 and had the Nicholas haircut up through most of the 80's. Bonnie Franklin also had it on One Day At A Time.
Reminds me of a 70's version of 7th Heaven only not as serious, but still wholesome family entertainment. Loved the reality of the relationship Mr. Bradford & Tommy-Willie Ames with the way they would argue with each other all the time, just like a teenage son and father do. I was about the same age as the character of Nicholas at the time the original show aired, so I always thought the things he did to get into trouble were cute because I did them too! Adam Rich was the best actor of the kids
It’s funny you should mention that, because in a book about the history of the WB (7th Heaven’s network), an executive said that 7th Heaven was brainstormed as a combination of Eight Is Enough and Family.
I can see that, I loved 8 is Enough when I was Nicholas age, then transitioned to Family when Annie came on. Both were highlights of 70s television.
I wish u-tube would post the tv show eight is enough so we can watch them on here. I sure do miss that part of my child hood! And be able to share it with my daughter
RIP Dick. Best dad ever on TV! Glad I got to see this show in reruns
Bill Bixby (Courtship of Eddie's Father) was pretty good, too
Glad I’m seeing now on Tubi
I remember this show... Loved it, and was sad when it went off the air.
"The Best of Times" growing up in the 70's and Eight is Enough was a big part of "The Best of Those Times". Thanks for sharing this video.
WOW!! I had no idea that was Grant Goodeve singing. I stilll think he was super dreamy.
There is a clip of him here where he sang the complete song at a talent show, with just his guitar. Definitely worth seeing.
I was driving down I 5 in about 2004 and was passed by a gold Mercedes. When I looked to my left I thought, gee that guy looks like Dick Van Patten, but was about to dismiss the thought, you know how the mind works. After he passed me I glanced down at the License plate and it was a custom plate that said 8WASENUF. That was my confirmation it was him. Just a funny story out of nowhere.
Best tv dad ever! Rest in peace Dick Van Patten.
I wasn't even a big fan, and still I found this endearing.
RIP to the coolest TV dad of all time! #RIPDickVanPatten
Dick van Patten was a great person and a marvelous entertainer and his whole family continues his legacy!!!!!
LOL Grant Goodeve wrote and sang the later theme :)
Reiferms family values. More shows should be made like this
*Reaffirms*
I've commented about EIE being the most accurate show of how those times were.Today everybody thinks the 70s was all sex, drugs, and rock n roll. ...but... Most families in middle America were like the Bradfords. Middle class,Wholesome, Proud father having a beer with his son values. Sure they partied on Saturday night but had traditional values on Sunday. This show is a window to the past of simpler, happier times.
whitewitchoz, excellent comment.
@@TheWriterWalker Agreed 100% !!!!!
Yes it is
I'm all growing up watching Eight is Enough!!!! Great show!!!!😁😉✌💯
Love this show still even after all these years! Thanks for sharing
This was good show. They just don't make shows like this anymore.
Thank god. The show is way too outdated and corny. I hate Adam Rich
Thanks to good taste.
Because the young people of today are just horrible and don't care about anything good or the past when things were great and wonderful and much better than now Period!!!!!
These days they would have to be unmarried transgender people who hate each other
If you didnt grow up in the 70s i feel bad for you. THE 1970S ROCKED BIG TIME.......THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES.
I want to go back to that beautiful years. ✌🏻💕👏
They don't make good home tv shows anymore like this
you can say that again!
One of my favorite 80's tv shows !
Oh my this was one of my favorite shows to watch back then. All the memories!!!
Wonderful show
This is wonderful! Brings back so many happy childhood memories. I loved Eight Is Enough :)
I love the earlier theme so much better than the later one. Grant Goodeve was so beautiful back then.
Love it!! This theme, and all its variations, brought me and my sister and brothers running to the TV.
I love this show wouldn't miss an episode love the theme song. I miss quality television Grant was so handsome.
One of my favorite shows growing up!
Sadly, it was just announced that Dick Van Patten passed away.
RIP Mr. Van Patten.
The same guys who wrote "Dallas" ALSO wrote "Eight is Enough". AWESOME.
My favourite tv serie, too much memories.
cheers from Rome
So much history in this Show. Diana Hyland encouraged her then boyfriend John Travolta to play Tony in Saturday Night Fever, Mark Hamill played David Bradford #1 before doing Star Wars which is one of the most successful Movie Franchises of all time. Dick Van Patten like Marlon Brando played Nels in I remember Mama that Barbara Bel Geddes did before playing Miss Ellie on Dallas. Lee Rich also worked on Dallas as well. Betty Buckley would later be the toast of Broadway as Graziella in Cats along with Jennifer Holliday Effie #1 in Dreamgirls. So many Actors appeared on the Show from Danny Bonaduce as well as Dorian Harewood who was also in The Video for Giving Him Something He Can Feel by En Vogue also done by Aretha Franklin. Sadly enough while some Actors did well, others didn't Adam Rich became an Addict, Willie Aames became broke but he picked himself up, Lani O'Grady was Bipolar before anyone knew what it was while Susan Richardson became a Hoarder and had health problems, Grant Goodeve got clean, became a Born Again Christian and hosted a Children's Show on a Bible Network while Laurie Walters, Dianne Kay and Connie Needham managed to escape the horrors of being in the public eye.
laminage Dianne Kay has an interview on a podcast from 2011. She is a cancer survivor and seems to be doing great in life and has a solid Spiritual faith.
I didn’t know she was in the Steven Spielberg movie 1941
thanks for the trip back to my childhood. :)
Thanks for this.... was feeling nostalgic.... this made my day..❤❤❤❤
I LOVED Seasons 1-3 theme music the best. Really miss shows like this today.
Diana Hyland was cast as the mother but died of breast cancer after only 4 episodes. They wrote her death into the show, so Dick Van Patten was a single dad. Then he started dating Betty Buckley, whom he married and she became their stepmom.
Directly after 8 is Enough, Buckley starred in Cats and won a Tony for singing Memory. She later played Norma Desmond in Sunset Blvd in NY and London.
AxelQC she was the gym teacher in the 1976 horror movie Carrie
More recently, Betty Buckley played Carisi's boss in Law & Order: SVU.
This hit home for me I came from from a family of 8 I felt odd cuz you just see that family until this show came out I found a connections
Awesome to see Diana Hyland in this. She’d of be fantastic had she not passed. Incredible class she possessed..
Yes, a tragic loss for sure.
Thank you so much for this... what a better, more respectable time... where people had more self-control, and there were family shows like this one to reinforce positive, selfless values.
Dad must've had Lani's character as a young teen because she looks to be in her late 30's.
I wish MeTV would play some of these old family dramas instead of just westerns, crime shows and The Love Boat.
If Me TV picks up rights to air Eight is Enough, which I don't think will happen, I could see Antenna TV picking up this series someday. I know that Antenna TV has Head of the Class and Alice, which are Warner Bros shows, It would be cool if Me TV could also pick up Life Goes On as well.
James Zenor -Dailymotion videos has 186 videos of Eight is Enough shows. I typed in Eight is Enough - A family reunion and then tapped all shows and there they all were.🌹
Well Lani was like 23 or 24 so you're pretty close. She was born in 1954 (Wiki).
Thank you for posting. These were all fantastic to see. Love the singing theme song the best.
Nothing better than the Pyramid. Good times indeed.
Nostalgie !
J'en ai des émotions.
Cette série et leurs acteurs nous manquent. Plusieurs d'entre eux sont malheureusement décédés. :-(
I sure do miss the good ol' days. I was about Nicholas age when I started watching this. This and the Brady Bunch was like a 2nd family to me.
Please bring this wonderful show back on a Retro Channel. It was such a favorite.
I remember it well not forgotten !
Dick Van Patten died four years shy of turning ninety. Apparently, 86 is enough.
Im pretty sure Dick would love this comment after a good laugh. Blessings!
I know this is 5 years later but I just literally laughed out loud that's some funny s***
now that’s a father
2:40 Ooooh - if I'd been an American male teen in 1977, I'd had the biggest crush on Dianne Kay.
Indeed, she was stunningly, excruciatingly and unbelievably gorgeous!
Although Connie was no sloutch either!!!!
@@scottyclayton5604 I LOVED Connie's long hair!
@@jeffstipp6872 Connie was my fav (she's about my age)
I’m not sure if this is possible but my dad swears that I learned to keep a messy bedroom after watching this show - and then I lost my TV watching privileges. I have the fondest memories from what I remember. I was 5 to 8 years old when this was on. And I loved all the girls!
This show was somewhat unique in that most of the 'kids' were beyond high school age (in the workforce, in college), especially given the number of 'kids' in the family.
Lorimar shows all had good theme tunes
what there was a wedding one? I need to see this immedeatly! the last i saw was the family reunion. oh my gosh! you made my day! thank you!
The wedding one was about David's second marriage. He and Janet split and in this movie, he married a character played by Nancy Everhard, who co-starred in the Untouchables revival and also in the legal drama Reasonable Doubts.
Nice monster mullet there Tommy.
This makes me feel sad
I’m SO thrilled that Season One is available now on Amazon! What an incredible show, so needed in today’s divided time. 😀
Diana Hyland(1936-77)Lani O’Grady(1954-01)Dick Van Patten(1928-2015)RIP
RIP to these wonderful actors.
Update Adam Rich 1968-2023
That only show my family watch next to the family & good times all in the family
Great memories
There's a magic in the early morning we've found
When the sunrise smiles on everything around
It's a portrait of the happiness that we feel and always will
Eight is enough to fill our lives with love
We spend our days like bright and shiny new dimes
If we're ever puzzled by the changing times
There's a plate of homemade wishes on the kitchen window sill
And eight is enough to fill our lives with love
More than enough to fill our lives with love
Thank you to share the lyrics of the song..Eight is enough to fill our lives with love and there was PLENTY OF LOVE IN THIS SERIES and the lyrics are beautiful. We spend our days like bright and shiny new dimes..wow! Just beautiful.
Great lyrics.. but the melody was sad and dreary. It needed to be more upbeat.
I have it for my cell ringtone
I remember this show! I know I wasn't born in the 70s, however, the reruns came on PAX-TV (now known as Ion television) back in the late 90s. It used to come on Saturday nights around 7!
A very very sad and bizarre end to Lani O’Grady(Mary Bradford). Passed away 9/25/01 age 46 from a drug overdose. No one knows if it was accidental or suicide. So sad and so young. May she RIP.
That hair and phone @ 10:51!!! Its a wonder how we got out of 80's with those fashions!
I bet Tommy only got about 3 full minutes from that phone before the battery drained. That mullet had it's own zip code.
RIP Dick Van Patten
I'm sorry they couldn't get Betty Buckley for the reunion movies.
I remember and remember dreaming too. Blessings to all God bless.
IF you would travel back in time to 1977 and show people the sick and
depraved shows we watch now they would think we are all Psychopaths.
@F L Many of them just dropped out of Hollywood and did just fine with the exception of a few. Google it for yourself. Stop spreading BS.
Idiot....🙄🙄🙄
@F L The difference is that now it's acceptable in front of the camera too. And no, not all of them.
I guess you've never seen Midnight Cowboy or Dallas.
Henry Bemis-Henry Bemis-don't break your glasses!
THE BEST THEME SONG!
Eight is Enough has always been a favorite of mines I still watch reruns here on italian television
Grant Goodeve lived here in Washington State for a while. He hosted Northwest Backwoods on King 5. Our NBC affiliate.
Wow this theme really takes me back! Thank you so much for posting it.
That first food fight shot at David 😂
I was a 'lil kid when this was initially run. A truly cozy, comfort-food show.
Liked the opening show themes. Thx for the upload.
It's about time Eight Is Enough will be on DVD!
This was one of my favorite shows when I was growing up. It promoted traditional American values of honesty, integrity, loyalty, hard work and family unity. Rest in peace DVP - aka Tom Bradford.
Thanks! One of my fav shows.
1BolsaChica remember one season had karate kid Ralph maccho in it or I'm imagining this
It's kinda funny to see Mary Frann playing Dick Van Patten's wife in the first reunion movie when you consider that 15 years earlier, she played his DAUGHTER in an episode of Cannon!
What a cheesy ass theme song but I love it!
Une série inoubliable !💖
Rip to a guy a followed as a kid watching Eight Is Enough & Code Red, Nicholas Bradford & Danny Blake aka Adam Rich. My condolences & sympathies to the Rich fam. This guy was 3 years older than me n he left too dam soon. But will never be forgotten by his fans. God Bless Rich Fam.
Thank you for putting this together ! I sure miss those days . Hope it makes it to DVD soon . It will sell well !
Toutes les versions du générique ! Génial.
I always enjoyed watching EIE. It did seem realistic. Betty Buckleys' role as stepmother was very heartwarming.
Greatest show ever
I liked this series a lot and had a huge crush on Grant goodeve.I was a pre teenager when it was aired in France but oh my god this guy was a hottie .He was so cute and i liked the youngest brother played by Adam rich,Lany o Grady and Susan the red haired girl..it was such a nice series with good values and PLENTY OF LOVE.
I forgot about that bumper on the car flapping back and forth like that, lol
Love the clarinet at the end. Nice theme.
Please release all the seasons on DVD...just finished season one and ready for the rest. Best family show ever! Or bring them back to TV.
10:53 that's some mullet on Tommy. Lol
Growing up in the 70s, I had a friend named Tommy Bradford. I remember everyone teasing him and saying things like how's David and Nicholas today? LOL
Season one did really well, so i anticipate the remaining seasons to be released
I liked it grant goodeve sang the theme
10:52 That mullet. LOL
