    Hi I saw your videotutorial about the Panasonic AG-CX10 video camera, well done, I wanted to ask you since I bought the camera these days, can you recommend me the best card and brand to record optimally in 4k and full hd? I need a 128gb card, if you can tell me the features it must have, thank you 1000, have a nice day.

      I think you need to use the power supply if possible, or you need to record to an SD card so it won’t auto shut down. EDIT: I found an entry in the manual that explains how to disable auto shutdown. (see next post)

    • @mobiletonster
      @mobiletonster  3 роки тому +1

      There is a setting in the camera under MENU -> OTHERS -> ECO MODE. ECO mode allows the camera to auto shut down. Here is an excerpt from the manual, page 93:
      [ECO MODE]
      By setting [OTHERS] menu → [ECO MODE] → [BATTERY]/[AC]/[NETWORK], when there is no button operation or LCD monitor touch operation
      performed for a certain time, the power turns off automatically.
      NOTE
      * In the following cases, even if [BATTERY], [AC], or [NETWORK] is set to [ON], the power will not automatically turn off.
      - While a memory card is being accessed (during recording, during playback, while formatting the media, etc.)
      - During pre-recording
      - In card reader mode
      * In the following case, even if [BATTERY] is set to [ON], the power will not automatically turn off.
      - When using the AC adaptor
      * In the following cases, the power will not automatically turn off.
      - When connected to a network via wireless LAN or wired LAN
      * The power turns off automatically if the [AC] eco mode functions.
      [BATTERY]
      When about 5 minutes have passed without any operation, this unit automatically turns off to save battery life.
      The items that can be selected are as follows.
      [ON], [OFF]
      (Factory setting: [OFF])
      [AC]
      If there are no operations for approximately 15 minutes while using the AC adaptor, the power turns off automatically.
      The items that can be selected are as follows.
      [ON], [OFF]
      (Factory setting: [OFF])
      [NETWORK]
      If there are no operations for approximately 15 minutes when the [NETWORK] menu → [DEVICE SEL] → [WLAN] or [USB-LAN] is set while not
      connected to the network via a wireless LAN or a wired LAN, the power turns off automatically.
      The items that can be selected are as follows.
      [ON], [OFF]
      (Factory setting: [OFF])

    What's different Between CX8

    • @mobiletonster
      @mobiletonster  3 роки тому

      I believe the CX8 is equivalent to the CX10 but is targeting different countries/markets. I think the CX7 is equivalent to the HX2000. As far as I can tell, the CX8 menus and features are the same as the CX10. If someone knows otherwise, please let us know.

    • @mobiletonster
      @mobiletonster  3 роки тому

      ok, I did find some documentation. Looks like the CX8 does NOT have the wired ethernet capability and is the biggest difference between the CX10 and the CX8. So, I think the CX8 is actually closer tot he HX2000. Here is a link to the manual that has more information: www.manua.ls/panasonic/ag-cx8/manual?p=1

It should look something like this: rtmp://a.rtmp.ua-cam.com/users/live2fqzx-crsh-q3ys-qsk6-b1ea where the first part is the base url: rtmp://a.rtmp.ua-cam.com/users/live2 and the part after the final slash is the stream key.

    When would you use 50hz compared to 59? Nothing in stupid manual
    telling you why, when, nothing . Computer can't read MOV files or
    HEVC. How do you fix that ? Software for this? Computer doesn't read anything recorded using 50hertz either. Nightmare.

    • @mobiletonster
      @mobiletonster  3 роки тому

      Q1) when would you use 50hz vs. 59hz?
      A1) 50hz is based of the European PAL standard vs. 59hz which is a derivative of the North American standard NTSC format. This really applies to television broadcast formats, and doesn't really matter as much for digital formats like streaming or UA-cam. Unless you are recording something to be played on European television, I don't know that I would deviate from 59hz. Maybe others have some opinions on this and other situations that I haven't considered.
      Q2) Computer can't read MOV of HEVC files. How do you fix that? Software for this?
      A2) If you are on Windows 10, you can add an HEVC decoder for the built-in Windows Movie Player software. You can also download VLC Media Player which is capable of playing many different formats, including most MOV encodings. In general, you should probably stick with MP4 or other format if you just want to playback. If you are editing, most editing software can handle the various recording formats, like MOV, MP4, etc.
      The purpose of this video was for streaming to RTMP format, such as for UA-cam live, etc...which is why we set it to MOV format so we have access to the 2mbps bit rate for streaming, not for the MOV format for recording.
      I hope that helps.

    Sir, can we add graphics to our live stream??
    like a logo or a lower third?

    • @mobiletonster
      @mobiletonster  3 роки тому

      Not directly from the camera, no. There is a JVC camera that supports such an option, but the Panasonic does not.

    • @mobiletonster
      @mobiletonster  3 роки тому +1

      There are other ways to accomplish this. You could have a computer that can "ingest" the video feed either through a camera capture device like an Elgato CamLink 4K USB capture device, or you could activate NDI in the AG-CX10 (additional fee) and capture the feed via NDI into some software like OBS, add overlays and logos then use OBS to send the RTMP stream to UA-cam, etc. If the fee for activating NDI in the camera is too high, you could use the free RTSP streaming from the camera to OBS and then send RTMP from OBS to UA-cam. This obviously makes a more complicated setup but if you really want more control, then that is what will be required.

    • @jabarilucas8100

      @@mobiletonster Would the NDI function work wireless? I have looked everywhere for a straight answer and can't find one. I guess that's par for the course with tech. Any light you can shed on this is appreciated!

    • @mobiletonster
      @mobiletonster  3 роки тому

      I believe that the NDI function would work wirelessly with this camera, but I cannot confirm it. I have not activated the NDI license on my camera as I use mostly SDI with it. But, in trying the menu functions, I connected the camera to the WLAN and the NDI functions seem to be happy (except no license) either over LAN or WLAN. As for how well it will work, it will depend on your network. Wireless is always going to be subject to interference and disruptions which may affect things but as the NDI on the camera is NDI HX, it is better suited for wireless than full NDI would be. That comes at a cost of about 9-10 frames delay as opposed to full NDI which doesn't need as much overhead for compression.
      In spite of all that, I do believe it should work and work well if your network is fine. There are other options, however. This camera support RTSP and there are drivers you can install on a PC to use the RTSP via the camera to send a "webcam" protocol to the computer, or if you have a program like OBS or VMIX, they can accept an RTSP stream directly. It isn't going to be as good as NDI in terms of "auto negotiated reliability" and you'll have to adjust your buffer settings until you get it right, but it is a "Free" option for streaming from the camera wirelessly across your network. I have had mixed success using the RTSP protocol, but most of it comes done to dialing in the correct settings for your network.

    • @jabarilucas8100
      @jabarilucas8100 3 роки тому

      @@mobiletonster Thank you for the thorough response; this is very helpful! My church uses livestream studio, so both the RTSP protocol and the NDI-HX interface are options. I would prefer the NDI option because, as you said, it would be easier. Steps would be taken to beef up our wireless capabilities.
      Another option I have thought about is purchasing an HDMI-NDI converter to retrofit our current camera into our workflow. I am not sure how reliable those are.

I never realized that it would draw so much interest globally. I guess I should create a generic one for everyone else... :-)
