- Star Wars Episode I: Battle for Naboo (known as Star Wars: Battle for Naboo on the PC) is an arcade-style action game co-developed by Factor 5 and LucasArts. It is a spiritual sequel to Star Wars: Rogue Squadron released two years earlier. Despite the similarities between the two games, the development team designed a new game engine for Battle for Naboo and included land- and water-based combat in addition to aerial combat.
Set in the fictional Star Wars galaxy, the game takes place during the events depicted in the film Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Players control Gavyn Sykes, a lieutenant in Naboo's Royal Security Forces. As the game progresses, Sykes and the Royal Security Forces fight the Trade Federation in 15 missions that take place on Naboo or in the space surrounding it. The game concludes after the player completes a mission that recreates the film's climactic assault on the Trade Federation's Droid Control Ship.
Battle for Naboo was published by LucasArts and THQ and released for the Nintendo 64 in December 2000. A Windows port was released three months later in March 2001. The Nintendo 64 version received generally positive reviews; critics praised the game's tight and responsive controls, but expressed dislike for the game's Episode I setting. The game's PC port was less well-received, with critics citing poor visuals and difficult controls.

This was essentially Rouge Squadron in the prequel era. A shame Factor 5 never developed future installments during the clone wars :(.

Well, they made an almost universally hated (but loved by me) dragon based rogue squadron later. That made it all up for me.
Bro check out Jedi Star Fighter for the PS2 or one thats just called The Clone Wars theyre basically the same game play but with better graphics. Played those games a lot when I was a kid
Everyone is mentioning Jedi Starfighter but should also mention the first Starfighter, which Jedi Starfighter is a sequel to and has Nym in both games.

The graphics and audio the N64 could produce were mind blowing. Perfect Dark was a prime example of the scope and depth the N64 could reach!!

Man some of those missions were awesome. I think the mission where you get revenge on the Hutt for betraying you and killing the captain might be one of my favorites in the entire "Rogue Squadron style" game series.
Yeah it is too bad you don't kill him and he just comes back to Naboo during the empire making more money then ever.

This game almost never gets a mention, but I had a great time with it back in the day! Underrated in my humble opinion 🙂.
It was on Wii virtual console and it is always brought up when talking about factor 5 or N64 "limit pushing"? But yeah being a ltd game you would expect it to be forgotten.
Such an underrated game and overlooked gem.
Also Perfect Dark. Alas, everyone was hooked on Goldeneye pvp and, though it had pvp available, noone I know got into it. At my apartment we ALWAYS lit the chalice and fired up the Nin Six-Fo for some Goldeneye.
It's one of the most technically advanced N64 games ever made.

I forgot how good the music for this was. I know this game relied mostly on solid -state sampling but... wow, the game has very good sound fidelity.
Also the OST is completely orginal to the game, even the menu themem is a remixed Duel of the Fates

This is one of those games that I have very vague memories of because I rented it from blockbuster. Over the years I'd remeber bits and try to remember what the game was called. Now it's all flooding back and bringing back memories of my childhood playing rented N64 games
There was one game I had rented a loooooong time ago back in the late 90's, I could never remember what it was called, but I finally found it.
Aero Assault 64, all I ever remembered of it was the first level with the city and I blew everything up with bombs.

It was a literal perfect storm for a company that had already burned alot of bridges with the way they trashed Rogue Squadron during Lair's development.
Eliss Youkilis they also focused too much on motion control that just ended up being a huge gimmick

I had this game along with Rogue Squadron. Played both so much and loved them . Factor 5 did a great job on both . Ahhh happy N64 memories 😃. Still one of my favourite consoles ever . Can't believe the years are flying by . We need more games like these classics to come back to the switch 👍

Factor 5 rewrote the microcode of the console, which was key for optimizing games for the N64. Perfect Dark may have had more impressive textures, but it struggles with the frame rate.
This game needs paring with Unreal Engine
A video game, I think on the Nintendo 64 in which you were in a Death Star location, I think in space on a huge ship. It was a ship battle in which you had to destroy other ships and textures.
