I have a 2018 Sport Glide bought used this last April. The salesman showing the bike went to fire it up and that Low Batt FOB showed . He told me that if I buy it I should change out the battery as soon as possible. So bought,took it home and changed it out the next day. I love this bike . I found your channel AFTER getting her home but I'm learning a lot by watching your stuff.

Seriously spooky; I was browsing around your video topics with my fob and a new battery sitting beside me (grappling to open the darn fob), and came across this video! Total coincidence, bike came up with the 'low fob battery' warning just yesterday, I was impressed as even my super-whizzy car doesn't tell me when its fob battery is low! Really useful videos, thanks.

My fob battery died at the same time as my main battery when I first got my Harley. The new fob battery is garunteed to last 10 years, Igot a pack of 8 for £9. I also have a rubber sleeve that goes over my fob.
That’s a decent price
I went for a ride on my Softail Standard and it threw a low battery fob message on my digital display. I checked my starting battery and the voltage was 12.9 so I was puzzled. Now I know what the problem is. Thanks Alf!
Funny I've had exactly the same message the last few weeks but it's intermittent. I'll get round to changing it at the weekend I think, did 100miles last night and shoe never missed a beat.....don't want electrical issues to creep in if I leave it too long!

This low battery warning must be on the newer bikes. I have a 2017 Softail Heritage and it does not have this feature.
I found out the fob battery was no good when the bike told me to enter my pin number.

Yes, it’s a newer feature. I found out the same way as you on my Sportster. I added a different speedo/tacho to my Sportster, yet the message didn’t show.
When re sealing add a little Vaseline to the seal to help with water proof seal and make it easier to separate next time.
Can use lip balm as well.
Don't us KY, that will make it harder.

Just found out mine battery fob is also empty after only 19 months. The flsb was brand new. Thx Alf for the video 👍👍

Too funny, mine just did this. I replaced the bike battery too. Mine lasted about 3 years. 2 times my bike battery let me down, now I change them at 3 years. Both purchased at the Harley shop, 3.95 for the fob battery, and 152.00 for the bike battery.

The other thing to watch for when you get the battery is compare it to the one in the fob. Their are a lot of counterfeit ones. I bought a name brand one and it was not the same. I noticed the packaging was close but the print was off center.

CR2032 is the same battery on your computer motherboard.
Good advice about Brand name, not the cheap one from the dollar store.

My '09 beeps when I turn the key if the fob got low battery. Learned this first season after I got it. As you mention, the CR2032 batteries can have issues. More often than not, this is because they've been in storage for to long, they "leak" electricity over time. Up the Irons!

Hi Alf. I changed the battery on my fob and i still got the message come up on my screen. i changed the spare fob and that solved the issue. so good tip change both key fobs at the same time

Hi Paul ! My T120 has a key and my scooter has a key fob. Yamaha gave one fob only. I can imagine 2 being very handy. I am upgrading my T120 for a 2022 model in February, Paul.

My alarm chirped at me when I was getting on the bike. After replacing the fob battery it doesn't chirp at me anymore. No digital read out on mine.
Batteries have a shelf life the cheaper on line ones could be coming to the end of theirs getting them from a shop where you can check this could be a better idea.

In the manual, Dutch version, they want you to put the battery in the wrong way. Found out the hard, very loud way;)

Oh man i hate the fobs many times at a space outside the thing goes off without warning then i have to change the battery quick time its a pain.

Try not to touch both sides of battery at same timehold by edge if possible.

try checking fuel pump and fuel quantity sensor
Do you change your bikes battery every 4 or 5 years? Or do you wait until it begins to act up?
Got to say I tend to wait until it plays up. Then try a repair and if it still plays up then I change it
I change my battery every New Year's Day as a matter of routine since the bike was new. I also change the batteries in my two smoke alarms and my Carbon Monoxide alarm at the same time as I do my bikes fob battery, one day my life could depend on those smoke alarms working if there's ever a fire in my home, the same goes for the CO alarm if my gas fire malfunctions.
