Never seen that first Abdullah Ibrahim LP (Mindif). I will grab anything by him. I was privileged to catch him in concert in 2023; it was a fantastic experience.
Another great video! Big Bennie Wallace and Hal Galper fan here! Hal Galper also had that 10 year stint with Phil Woods. Certainly you must know Jack Walrath? You could an entire video on him, I'm sure. Hey, you should do a Soul Note/Black Saint labels. Lots of expensive records but tons of cheap heat too.
Great video blog. You always make them so entertaining, keep up the good work. A point to note is that I only buy and listen to CD's, BUT I have picked up great leads to follow up from your blogs and I love jazz drumming, so all good! Re Enja label, I know the owner Matthias Winkelmann. I met him at Midem festival in the 90's (France) and on returning to Germany, I went past his offices to see the operation and it was great. Actually I had the same luck / experiences with the owners of Timeless (Netherlands) , Steeplechase (Denmark) and ECM ( Germany).
Glad you are enjoying the vids. Actually, most of the Enja albums I own are on CD. A lot of them have extra non-LP tracks! Cool story about meeting Winckelmann! Thanks for sharing… more Enja talk coming up!!
Great video as always. Will you be covering the Hannibal Marvin Peterson records in another video? I think several of those on Enja are still pretty cheap (less than £20/$20) and they are great records?
I have picked up a few Enja records cheap over the past couple of years including 2 you showed. Just this morning I listened to More Sightings by George Adams which I recommend
A personal favourite ENJA release is Chet Baker's 'Peace' (1982) with David Friedman, Buster Williams and Joe Chambers. As the title implies, there's a lot of calm and spaciousness in this recording.

Great video! That Kenny Barron is awesome and the Bennie Wallace on Enja are great. Looking forward to the rest of your series on the label.

Thanks for this! I really like Michael Gregory Jackson's "Cowboys, Cartoons & Assorted Candy..." (1982) on the Enja label. Its also super cheap.
@@Alex-ni5eh - don’t have that one! Huge fan of MGJ’s work in general, though…

I can't find those Marty Cook records on LP in the US. Any recommendations?
I got a couple of them from Cadence / North Country years ago & the quartet one is a recent Discogs grab from a US seller.
@El_Bicho_Feo Actually, I did find one of the Marty Cook records on Discogs, and it was fairly cheap!
