the magical 82f or 28c is the mark you wanna hit for breeding, not 30, crank it up after the hatch., also after they lay, no w/c or feeding until fry hatch and become free swimming.
There isn't a required ph to breed discus. Rule of thumb is, if the water is safe to drink, it's safe for discus. I know breeders whose ph is around 8 and very hard water and their fish breed successfully
PH: 5.5 - 6.5 otherwise the males sperm dies. GH: about 55ppm or the eggs will calcify, and the sperm cannot fertilize the eggs TDS: below 200 is normally good.
@@jalaljalal7265 If it does not work, keep lowering the TDS. If the eggs do not hatch once you get to the 35 - 40 ppm range, then it is likely that the male is infertile, and will need to be replaced.
I have a pair that just got together. They are about 3.5 inches except that the male is a little smaller. They spawn but the boy doesn’t know what to do with the eggs. He thinks it’s a great meal. How long do you think it will take before he gets around?
Hey mate with your water changes how do you go about them? Do you have another tank that you always have water in with a heater getting it to temperature to pour into your breeding tank and get the pH to the right amount Or do you just fill a bucket from the tap and pour it in and let it do its thing Cheers
Hey bro! So it’s better to not do water change when they have eggs? And what about after the eggs hatched? Do we do water change when the eggs hatch? Please let me know thanks!
Nice fish! I wanna start to breed with some of my discus, they are laying eggs in my communitytank but that doesnt work.. My question is, whats the size of the next tank where the babies going to grow out?
Great video thank you. I hear alot of people talking about gill fluke hitting the babies when they’re about 6weeks of age. Did u encounter it and if so how did u treat it? What was your best product?
Interesting video, very informative. Why do you have dozens of comments which are not even comments from May Designs, Phoebe Clarke, Phoebe Rose, May Swim etc? Can I assume that the amount of money this video generates is dependent upon the number of views and comments?
nice video Zac, love your discus set up, please continue to make more discus videos like this haha
I'm going to use this video as a guide for my fish room/breeding business. Your instructions were very clear and concise. Wish me luck. 🍀
Great video thank you
my male discus fish eats eggs and doesn't seem to want the eggs to stick to the Pipe? I wonder why?
That was a freaking great video there my friend! Can’t wait to start my tank!
Wow that pair on the right is FIRE 🔥 😮👍
Good job..but who do you know when are they ready to mate?
Nice video! I subscribed!

What is the ph required for the breeding pair?

Ideal is 5.5 - 6.5.
Water chemistry ? TDS, PH, conductivity ?
Ph 6.7
Nice , what about water parameters (gh , kh, tds)
PH: 5.5 - 6.5 otherwise the males sperm dies.
GH: about 55ppm or the eggs will calcify, and the sperm cannot fertilize the eggs
TDS: below 200 is normally good.

Anirban Chatterjee wait. He might be young yet. Wait for a couple of months.
Hi
Are you using RO water for breeding?
I have a pair that just got together. They are about 3.5 inches except that the male is a little smaller. They spawn but the boy doesn’t know what to do with the eggs. He thinks it’s a great meal. How long do you think it will take before he gets around?
can take anywhere from a week of good water changes to a couple months to settle in
Hi Zac, I really want to start breeding discus and wanted to know how you stored rain water and if you could use regular tap water
Thanks
Actually really helpful
Hi,you have discus for sell?
What light where you using for the breeding setup? Love the video 😇
Just a cheap replaceable bulb fixture light
Nice
two times my discus fish lay eggs an fertilised well, once baby’s hatch they start eating it. I don’t know how to protect. tell me how to do
the discus has to learn. it will stop at some point
Do YOU hold the light on in the night? Because my fish eat the eggs every night
No, lights are off
What size of discus can breed ?
From 1 year old
How often do you change the water in the tank where you grow the fry?
Every 2nd day
Did you age your water from the tap doing water changes if not what are your parameters thanks good video 👍
Im lucky to have a separate water storage tank from the gutter of the house. The water sits in the tank (ageing) until I need it.
So much improvement
word for word king of diy
Can we use Kinley mineral water instead of Ro water or rain water
@@ZaccyPfilm thanks
Can you please tell me the correct gender identification
Nice video👍🏻
How many gallons total is the tank?
Thanks
75

Yeah I pour water into a bucket before hand and warm it up then add it to the tank
