  • If you're looking for a poster child for "niche interest" a recipe for home made pectin for jam making is probably it.
    I hope you'll enjoy the video anyways. If you have any questions, leave the in the comments and I'll do my best to answer. Just don't ask "why???" because I'm still trying to work that one out.
    Much love,
    Michaela

    You don't need to use whole apples. It's enough to save apple cores. Usually when I've eaten an apple I save the apple core rinse it and the freeze it in a box and take out as many as may need when jamming!

    What kept me watching.... your accent is so cute!! But what you were saying was very interesting. I just started growing all kinds of fruit trees and bushes and even started a garden this year with almost every kind of veggie I could think of. I don't want anything to go to waste. So, learning how to make use of as much as I can became a goal of mine. Thank you for sharing this wonderful information 😊

      brick blocks JAM! JAM! JAM! JAM! This is the first I’ve heard that pectin is healthy. I always thought of pectin as just a thing you need to make jam, not as a good thing in and of itself. Thanks for letting me know! I’ll read up on that

      @@EliteprosoldierMW3, When making this apple pectin "sauce" with the purpose of using it as cancer killer..., can you also use red apples or only green ones ? And, how much of this should you eat every day for it to be effective and is there a limit on how much of it can you eat ?
      Do you keep it in the fridge ? And, what do you do with the leftovers, the apples mush that is left after the pectin has been dripped out and collected ??

    It's interesting that you only cook the apples for half an hour, every recipe I've seen calls for them to be cooked for many hours.
    How much of this natural pectin would you add when making the jam?

    Is apple pectin better than apple cider vinegar?

    • @michaelaschmid
      @michaelaschmid  2 роки тому

      They are quite different things. Pectin is basically fiber. It’s used to make jams, mostly. Or are you looking to use it as a prebiotic? Gut/digestive health isn’t my field of expertise, so I’m afraid I can’t say which is better for that use.
