I like how he was hitting with touch and softness, but would inject pace when necessary. He did all the things necessary to take Djokovic out of his co fort zone.
@@stradz1165 exactly and with any sport it's on the day tommy haas was a class player anyway but had a lot of injuries in his career Novak Djokovic is one of the best players probably ever these fanboys are embarrasing
It was a weak era because Haas, Safin, Hewitt, Nalbandian, Kuerten, Baghdatis, Gonzalez, etc were injured and/or unmotivated 80% of the time during 2004-2009, the precise time Fed dominated. No one's saying those players weren't talented, just that Fed conveniently got to play an inconsistent generation (until Rafa came along that is)
Alexander Kings you’re telling me they were better than Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Wawrinka, Thiem, DelPo, Ferrer, Berdych, Tsonga,,Tsitsipas etc?.... ok buddy 😂👍
@@AJ-ng6bq They didn't played at the same time, don't be an idiot. Del Potro always injured, Wawrinka started in 2014 while Nadal was trash, Berdych and Tsonga were more inconsistent than anyone and done by 2016, Ferrer never managed to be a threat, Thiem and Tsitsipas only got embarrassed in GS against the old Big 3.
Alexander Kings I’m not saying they were playing at the same time kid. No shit they weren’t playing at same time... and yea well we compare it going peak vs peak... and the reality is the peak of those players I listed would smash guys like Hewitt, Haas, Baghdatis etc... yea all those guys I mentioned had ups and downs... so did the ones that you mentioned... and it’s they’re fault they were “unmotivated” as you said...
Haas's ability to vary the pace of his shots was excellent in this game. Anyone who wanted to beat Djokovic in 2012 and 2013 should have taken notes from this match.
Joel Delaney Agreed. What is he doing now? Seems like he's been buddy buddy with Fed and has been his some time hitting partner. Interesting. Former top ten player now part time hitting partner for the GOAT.
Fourty Love Talk about being fragile. This guy can't seem to get a break (no pun intended). Well, at least he can say he reached the number 2 ranking in the world at one time.
@@AJ-ng6bq Haas' forehand has never been very reliable, or better, it wasn't his major weapon as one could expect being forehand easier to hit, compared to backhand. Check his mechanics and look how underperforming it was compared to his peers with killer forehands.
I wish Haas played like this all the time

Haas sure has great variety!
Great match by Tommy Haas
A guy from the 90s dominating top player in prime form. Pretty hilarious stuff.
more like from 2000's ... and its pretty normal stuff lol djokovic wasn't at his level obviously
Bebo, Why are you finding excuses? Haas has beaten Djokovic many times over the years. Haas started playing in 1996

Haas toyed with djokovic in this match , great pattern of plays shown here
He flatlined, I wouldn't say he toyed with him. He went for his shots and they were going in!
My man Tommy in rare form...
Einer der Wenigen, die Nole glatt wegputzt haben, Thommy one of the best 🏆
Haas was a great player. He had the game to beat everyone.
chrisroest not Nadal... that’s the only nightmare match up for him
