Getting orb barrage and arcane harmony is going to be so fun
Im gonna miss the days of feeling rare as an arcane mage player
We'll still be rare. Though they may have "simplified" it, it isn't overly simplified. Therefore, it will still be over 90% of the player bases heads, and if one of our sister specs have even close to a damage capacity, they will opt for the easier profile every time.
Arcane got the least amount of changes during the Mage rework in Dragon flight. Love seeing them getting all the love now. It looks like it's going to be so damn fun
Never played mage but was looking at fire, how does frostfire feel in comparison to arcane Slinger? Similar or totally different?
In my opinion frostfire fire mage feels SOOO fun to play but it’s not as good as arcane is in damage
they removed chronoshift for arcane, so they intentionally busted their kneecaps for mage in pvp.

Wait they removed chronoshift?? That is like THE talent for arcane mage. That would be like removing the talent that sacrifices imps to give soul shards for demonology
not really. it's like removing the talent that changes burning rush to do less damage to you. unless you pvp, then blizz don't care about you anyway
@liamdavies2823 well yea. 99% of my play time is pvp so I think about the game that way
I've never really been a big fan of mage play styles even though i always like the fantasy of arcane mage. Always a melee main. Play testing arcane however has been some of the most fun I've had with a caster. Tune the numbers and keep the playstyle exactly how it is 👌🏼

I did some testing as Spellslinger with Arcane Blast and without and well.. I found we don't even need Arcane Blast as Spellsplinger lol, as it should be! Because it's all about literally slingin' spells right?! Literally how it feels with Arcane Missiles, Arcane Barrage and Arcane Orb. Couple Icy Flow for just two of the spells we have to stand still to cast and BAM!! Full blown Mobile Caster and when I first heard about Spellslinger my initial thought was.. "Hmm Spellslinger eh? Well that means we will finally get a mobile caster cast like a hunter but with spells" At first that wasn't the case until these recent changes! If the playstyle remains the same when it goes live and the number tuning isn't so bad lol. I may have found my main!
Honestly the numbers as Spellslinger Arcane Mage is waaaaay to overtuned xD It does need to be balanced. *Fingers crossed* I am loving this playstyle, without having to use that annoying Arcane Blast >.> I would imagine Sunfury would have to use Arcane Blast.
The reason why as Spellslinger you don't need Arcane Blast is because a lot of our dmg comes from the Splinters. So what I did was removed AB from my bar and since Clearcasting procs a lot. I only use it to get the 2 stacks of Nether Precision and cast 2 Arcane Barrage's so I spawn the Splinters from it. Even if I don't get a Clearcast Proc which is rare to not have it. I cast Arcane Barrage until I get Clear Cast. Cast AM for the 2 stacks AB, AB. With this rotation you should always have Clearcast since you're only AMing for the 2 stacks of NP. It's fast paced because of some of the talent synergies to deal dmg this way. I do practically the same dps as if I had Arcane Blast. I'm really hyped about this current playstyle! I'm ready for the tuning, hopefully it will just be on par with the other classes, it should be right? Since Blizz has to balance all the classes >.> But that has never been done well ^_^' But still.. This current setup with the talents and how it plays. Really really good! Now I just have to hope and pray until pre-patch. >.

no one plays arcane lol i main arcane and started this season later then most i got to 2k io and was already top15k in world and 100 on region but i love me arcane feels so good on beta compared to live but been playing arcane for 10 years will continue to play it no matter how bad or good it is just the best mage spec

missiles didnt get buffed, they removed the talent that gives dmg and just gave it in a flat damage buff
well, they killed fire with one round of nerfs, so i kinda disagree that mages keep getting buffed
Keep getting buffed? umm, nerfing arcane blast 10% + removing crackling energy which is another 20% resulting in MINUS 30% its a buff? removing chronoshift will hit a little?! mages were not much dependable on movement?! umm mate, have y been watching same PvP matches as i did or we been watching different game? its massive, massive nerf, mages defend is made out of cardboard so avoiding clash with melee is mandatory, now it will be much much more difficult to do so.... i really hope they will reverse it or at least somehow compensate ( maybe +1 blink? )
Nah, you needed nerfs just like my unholy dk did too. You were broken. And mages are still good.

Seems overturned I’ve been playing it for the last two weeks and even with the minor nerfs and changes to the tree it’s still overturned fire is better arcane is lame but yes it is pumping and if it still pumps like this at launch I will be playing it over fire regardless I like the way fire feels better

This is becoming a meme. Frost and fire are fine, if undertuned numbers-wise. Fire literally just got a load of nerfs.
Arcane got a rework and still hasn’t had its numbers fine-tuned.

I really like the mechanics for Spellslinger, BUT the splinters looks like made of cotton candy. 😭 Can't believe blizzard missing another opportunit to give some lightning flavour to arcane. Make the splinters solid and sharp purple crystals with blue lightning around. Blue crystals and purple lightning for Frost.
In the same way, Arcane Missiles/Blast/Explosion/Orb can just have some crackling energy when hit the target. But Arcane Barrage was the first missing opportunit to give a Arcane Lightning spell, call down purple/blue lightning bolts instead of spyrals bolts. 🥲
