RIP Carl Weathers, you would've liked Amelia Watson
He was around long enough to see her at some point
Why would he?
This week, a friend gaslit me into believing Carl Weathers, the Reading Rainbow guy, and Carlton from Fresh Prince were all the same guy
@@OwnageMancer he’s lando and grief carga in Star Wars
@@Commanderfox945he's not lando
Rest in peace, Carl Weathers.
Ame's a sexual tyrannosaurus
And our mothers are the lawyer in Jurassic Park.
Then, who's Gura?
@@user-io7fp5jv5ishe's simply a dino-goob
Just like me.
16:08 _Switching to your sidearm is faster than reloading_
This film features two people who have served as US State Governors
You managed to write that without calling it a 'fun fact.' And for that, I salute you.
I believe the crazy one Sonny tried to go for Senate but stabbed a guy.
I'm not sure if Bill Dukes tried or not.
I always love it when someone experiences Predator for the first time and find out its actually a really good film, and the memes it made are legendary even almost 40 years later
The thing _Predator_ gets right that a lot of dedicated slasher movies almost never do is that it has an interesting plot before the killings start. All that stuff with Dutch and his team slowly starting to realize just what Dillon actually signed them on for. And outside of, like, the Elm Street movies, most slashers barely put on the effort to have a plot that's more than stringing along the kill scenes.
Props on Amelia watching the best stealth slasher movie. Thanks for the translations you do.
Best modern day adaptation of Beowulf too, though apparently that part was all by accident.
The sound of the Predator was made by Peter Cullen imitating a horseshoe crab.
And he tested it's effectiveness on an unsuspecting sound guy who left the mic on. Guy thought the studio was haunted.
Rip Carl Weathers.
My favorite scene is Billy's last stand. Indian actor, Sonny Landham.
16:04 The most testosterone and American moment in the movie
Also, rest in power, Carl Weathers.❤
"Fuck everything in that general direction"
All the better for it. Great film
RIP Carl Weathers, I'm sure you are making the best stews up there in the sky!
Certified hood classic. Hope she checks out Predator 2 and Predators as well.
At 15:57 the dude is not yelling "seargent " hes yelling "contact".
Yeah, the movie subs turned out to be wonky at times, but it was too late in the process to find another source.
The opening of this film when they are trading shits with each other is so macho Ame grew a beard lol
3:40 I like how she says "grampa hooks" and "black-a-box"
This was fun to watch. Her hiccups throughout were adorable.
Its nostalgic watching these, crazy to think this one was over a year ago. Appreciate the work in putting these edits together!
It's a good day when Peko Dubs drops a video!
I don’t always keep up with your stuff Peko Dubs, but you’ve always had high quality clips
Actually what does a lot of the damage of a grenade is the pressure from it going off turning your organs to mush
That's at close range. At longer range it's the shrapnel.
Thanks as always for making these!
Thanks for another another watchalong Pekomains, this definitely cheers me up.
I love Ame's whatchalongs because they give me an excuse to watch movies I've never watched
I love Ame watchalongs because they give me an excuse to rewatch movies that I love.
And also because Ame is the best.
Thank you always for taking the time to edit these for us! I just know they would take a long time. I appreciate you!
Salute to Carl Weathers!
Man, your editing is so clean. It's actually hard to tell where scenes were cut out, the whole video flows so smoothly. ❤
It was supposed to be a simple in and out rescue mission but the entire mission went south lightning quick!
There is also a video of a cut of this movie with the NES Contra soundtracks and sounds playing. That was epic.
Rest in Peace, Carl Weathers. Great highlights!
RIP Carl Weathers, you'll be missed.
Really well edited, nice job. Ame is such a treasure.
Rest in power Carl Weathers! Also holy nostaglia Ame watched Predator!
I love Ame being so sus about learnin how to build spiked man-traps.
ame watchalongs, my oshi
thanks for all the work you do peko
From what I recall, Predator played its cards very close to its chest in pre-promotions. It was moreso presented as "Action dudes going into the jungle to do action stuff". The sci-fi horror elements thus served as a surprise when, rather than having a bunch of average people dealing with some spooky horror that outmatches them, you instead have a bunch of grizzled soldiers who are at the top of their game but they're still outmatched because they're up against an alien with tons of high-tech gadgets.
About the closest I can think of something more recently replicating this formula off the top of my head, and doing it *well*, would be something like Spec Ops: The Line, which was advertised as just a third-person modern military shooter when it was in reality a psychological horror story and a loose adaptation of The Heart of Darkness.
Funnily enough, there is a school of thought that Predator works as an accidental adaptation of Beowulf, due to a number of similar plot beats and through integrating Grendel and Grendel's mother into a single threat.
Have you ever watched John Carpenter’s the thing? I watched it last year and it gave similar vibes to predator but with less action and more suspense along it doesn’t have the genre switch that predator has. Edit: the classic example of genre switch is probably from dusk til dawn I just remembered
The predator was losing so he rage quit.
Yes, and.
They also want to remove all evidence of a failed hunt.

This, Alien, and Aliens, and The Thing are the best sci fi movies of all time. The fact that the highlights are half the duration of the movie shows how much is worth reacting to in this movie.
Thanks for another great one of these, and cloaked Ame & monkey Kiara were excellent edits.
So sad. Half of my favorite high five is gone forever. His memory will certainly live on in the high fives i give to my friends!
my savior
this movie is a 10/10 of me its always nice to see a younger generation watching a classic. (I say that as if I was super old with 33)
Bit dissapointed that AME didnt gave it atleast an 8 but she still liked it.
Amazing Edit like always Peko Dubs.
RIP Carl Weathers
Ame is a zoomer, of course she doesn't like it. That's all you need to know.
You’re really doin gods work with these
People still forget the predator is Optimus Prime.
this was fun to watch
Those Ame hiccups... adorable.
I love the editing you do for these videos! Every upload on here is a treat to watch!
Great work with these as always
This was great! Very cozy watchalong. And the edits you added in were great!
Thanks for putting this together. Great stuff.
"Why are they wearing make-up?" Camouflage face paint is used to break up the outline of the face.
Thx for these videos. RIP Carl Weathers
"you're bleeding'... " I ain't got time to bleed" amazing.
RIP Carl Weathers
Hey, great editing moving her back and forth depending on what's on screen!
I hope she watches the sequel too, it's wild XD
I will always miss such a great man in Carl Weathers may he always find clear skies in Heaven with your amazing smile
アメちゃんプレデターも観てんのかよw
最高だよ!
When Billy was clenching that sacred medicine bundle necklace tho, that's when you knew it got real. Let's not forget when Billy dropped all his weapons and armor and kept only his knife with full intention to die like a First Nations warrior. That was cool AF. RIP Sonny Landham and Carl Weathers
Thanks for the edits dude, it means a lot
Corridor Digital actually did a cool video where they proved that you can hide yourself from IR using mud. Pretty neat. XD
Jean Claude Van Dam was originally cast to be the alien, but dropped out.
Wild story too. The original alien costume looked really bad, like B movie and crazy heavy. They asked him to jump down an embankment he said "no if I do that I'd break my legs" he quit, they had the stuntman do it who....broke his legs. They got a really tall guy (basketball player?) and redesigned the suit to what we see in the film. A really good move.
Thanks for the video!!
15:52 Korone when playing Earth Defense Force
Nice to be a predator watching Predator with a predator
All of her criticisms were perfectly valid. I've just watched it so many times that the lack of story and character development never really bothered me.
Idk why I love Ame's "looks like ___" she does with stuff 0:24
Ame watching this adds testosterone power to Buffson.
Ame: Do grappeling hooks actually work?
No. They've only been around for centuries because they're used to fish for great white sharks.
Hey man, love the channel. Keep up the good work, hope Ame watches more movies for you to edit.
Glad your still uploading videos! 🎉
Ame is kind of analytical at times. Like the observation about the music. And the thing she knew about male vs female body heat. Im like that in my friend group. That's relatable to me. I like.
We don't have a stew going.
Sad to see Carl Weathers gone, 2 years ago i meet him at a con
Thank you Carl Weathers. We will miss you
It really doesn't get much more manly than this movie.
I'm surprise Ame didn't do a Predator Hunting Grounds Special after this game..
Game? This is a movie watchalong. And you know something? By saying that this clip is that of a Predator game when it's actually a movie watchalong, you've effectively SPOKEN ILL of Carl Weathers, who played a role in the Predator MOVIE.
Ho I see I made an error. I meant running a couple rounds in Predator Hunting Grounds after "this movie".
JFC the glowstick had me laughing for 10 minutes. The whole setup and how she is talking and that clip just shows up caught me off guard. 32:42
RIP Carl Weathers.
I’m here for any Ame watch along 🫡
you know what couldve made this movie scarier? instead of the Predator noises - Pekora laughing
Guy points with 2 fingers-Ame "He's using the force!"
"His ears are so small! Aw they're so cuute, they look like little cookies!"
Oh god, the Predator has a Pip-Boy. It's true! T_T
Highlights on Baelz and Bijou JOJO watchalong.
I'd like to, but I stopped uploading anime watchalongs to UA-cam because random third parties tend to copyright strike them. I do have a crowdfunding system set up to produce those and upload them to my discord though.
5:46 To answer Ame's question, no. The movie Wolfen, about a sub-species of hyper-intelligent wolves living and killing people in the slums of New York, had similar POV shots for the wolves and it's believed it inspired the Predator vision.
Good edits 👍
This is like the one time I've agreed with Ame's grade, having watched it for the first time a few years ago. It's a very simple movie with some good action and tension
As a child I love the action. Well the last fight. However, as an adult, it's brilliant, all the copycats failed to appreciate.
It started as a typical military action film then morphed into a slasher. The lack of character's development is due to its slasher nature. You don't often see characters being really fleshed out before being brutally slaughtered. Yet, peering through the curtain and many details can be seen. The moving played with the military action man stereotype by reducing them into a confusing mess. At first they were shown to be elites after reducing the rebel camp into dust by themselves in a big, expensive, excessive action sequence. Yet, then they made the very irrational decision to stay and try to kill/fight a monster they don't understand after losing some members because they are "macho military man".
The best part is the Predator intention. Him collecting Billy's skull after he bravely went 1-on-1, tells us this guy is here for sport. He's here for the glory of the hunt and combat. The Predator didn't need to talk, there's no hologram. It's just there for us to see. There's no need for extensive backstory and all that. It's a slasher. By the end of the movie, despite being victorious, the leader of the group is left alone, severely injured, with all of his men dead. All of that for the probably the same reason the Predator hunts: glory.
It's an action/slasher/horror/sci-fi movie with a subtle but pretty clear message. Do they even make this type of movie anymore?
It only seems simple because it's very well done, structurally it takes a lot of skill to start off as a bombastic over the top action film that slowly evolves into a slasher movie and still keep the audiences attention.
Chat, is that real!?
Now that you’ve watched the movie you need to watch the musical it’s hilarious 😂
Arnie's line Predator Movie : stick around, if it bleed, we can kill it, get to the choppaaa !
any others line?
lmao Ame continues to be the master of savage roasting with wholesome/innocent comments
