    My dad is Jamaican immigrant and my mom is a white Canadian and they both speak patois.
    My dad doesn't live with me but my mixed brother does and speaks patois too.
    Everyone speaks patois in the house EXCEPT me. I only know the bad words. Lmao! But thank you so much! Very informative and funny video.
    I listen to a lot of reggae and love it a lot! Now I can understand a few of the lyrics!

    I'm Irish and patois really makes a lot of sense to me. A lot of Irish don't pronounce our Hs in Th and we're constantly asked to say three hundred and thirty three. Obviously the accents are different but some pronunciations are the same. I've heard a lot Irish priests and Irish slaves may have influenced the language but I dunno if it's true on not. Anyway it's a beautiful language :)

    • @ssickhead1

    • @ssickhead1
      @ssickhead1 7 років тому

      what "country"?

    • @Ohadahsworld
      @Ohadahsworld 7 років тому

      lol. the country is Guyana. And I'm just trying my best to learn all Caribbean patios spoken in that area because they are all very similar.

    • @ssickhead1
      @ssickhead1 7 років тому

      Ohadah guyana and jamaica do not exactly speak the same way. every caribbean country speaks it's own dialect. there are some similarities but they are largely different. learning jamaican patois won't help you much

    • @Ohadahsworld
      @Ohadahsworld 7 років тому

      Yes,yes. I over stand that. And thats why I said I'm learning all (if possible) of dialects spoken in the Caribbean area because although there may be different aggregates used that separate each own uniquely but in the same sense they are all very similar. Having roots in western African language, dutch, etc.. I have alot of family from there and their dialects and accents all root from the same tree. You dig?

    • @ssickhead1
      @ssickhead1 7 років тому

      Ohadah learning them all the pretty pointless. not even majority of the people already living in the caribbean take the time to learn about all the others. sometimes i hear trinidanians say something and go "what the f**k did he just say?". that's how different they are

    Gaal. You are something other, so intellectual, beyond funny, it seems effortless. You have to make a skit a week for You Tube, I command you!!!

    Informative AND Entertainig :O)
    Most UA-cam videos are one of the above (some none). Your video is both !!
    You are: Samart, knowlegable, know what learning a language is all about, have a great visual taste (excelent use of grapphics), very very funny AND look stunning.

    You all don't know by now that Jamaicans are one of a kind? Everything about us is different. Our motto- "Out of many, one people" We are very unique. Thank GOD.
