Greetings from Dallas Texas, path of total eclipse. This was an amazing experience. Sunset and Sunrise in 4 minutes. I remember Bonnie Tyler's song Total eclipse of the heart from the 80's. Excellent video Peter. Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for your hard work.❤😂🎉
This is brilliant! Love your reaction to things not going as planned. Makes the whole event seem more real. Love this song. Thank you for sharing the totality of the event.
I experienced the last one that crossed Oregon a few years ago and yes magical. In my nearly 58 years I've seen many partial eclipses and several total thank you for sharing this with us.
I just came in from watching the eclipse, and this was waiting for me -- awesome! I got anxious when you were turning to look at the eclipse without eye protection, though, so I was glad to hear the PSA at the end, lol
I went back and watched the original video before today's eclipse, and I sent it to friends who had no idea what I was refering to when saying how filming during an eclipse can go wrong. Thanks for the update!
Living in a powder keg.... Then it all blew up. My brother went to Mexico to watch it, and he played the song through the event, because the song is almost the same length as the total eclipse there.
I think I discovered your channel about a month before the eclipse - then the eclipse video made me realize you were local to me! Loved the video when it came out, knew it was a bit of a wreck, didn’t realize HOW much until this video. 😂
Thank you for including our home and family in the making of this magical video. You were the best guests and we all wished we could spend much more time with you all.
Personally, I loved your videos, and it's fun seeing you react to it. It is possible the eclipse might have messed with the equipment, so that might explain it...or Murphy's Law. Yeah, it's hard to miss an opportunity like that to make a music video, so I think you had a very unique experience. It's also cool you shared it with us too.
I showed the original video to my three year old to show him what to expect when we got to see the total eclipse in 2024. Totally blessed to see the 2017 eclipse from my home in Lincoln...and then to see the one in 2024 at my sister in laws house. Its astonishing.
I'm so sorry it didn't work the way you planned, but.......I really enjoyed watching this video! I was so gutted to not get to see the eclipse, and watching you and your cameras try (not as successfully as you'd hoped, but still there) to capture the magic made me feel like I did get to experience it some. Thank you for sharing the day (and the disappointment), even if it wasn't the way you'd planned!
I'm really glad sharing my hilarious video struggles could give you a little taste of that cosmic magic. The final product may have been a mess, but I definitely tried to capture the essence as best I could amid the chaos! 😌
Rough start, but looks like you got what you needed! Keep an eye out for eclipses in other parts of the world. Your next chance might come sooner than 20 years from now.

I was able to have my own experience in 2017 because of this video. Thank you for making it since it’s probably the closest I can ever come to seeing something this spectacular. I watched the video in 2017 and searched to watch it again this morning ❤
Totally worth it... and the behind the scenes is the BEST! Between the eclipse energy and mercury in retrograde you were kind of doomed with the tech cooperating.😂 I love what you did here!!❤
Peter, I give you all props in the universe for doing something you clearly wanted to do very badly. If I recall, you had issues at the last eclipse when you attempted this. GUESS WHAT? The universe was generous to send us a total eclipse and my city was in the path of totality and guess what? COULDN'T SEE IT BECAUSE OF THE BLASTED CLOUD COVERAGE!!! Until after 4:30pm and it's bright and shining now. Grrrrrr.... Love your stellar attempt, man!
I kid you not...I was thinking of how epic ot would be if some anyone were to sing that song during an actual Eclips and I love your attempt 😭😭😭😭😭 (happy tears and yes slightly sad this happened to you but extremely glad that you tried!)
Was still a cool video. Amazing what the suns energy, or absence, can do. You did amazing capturing this physics phenomena. The video was a once in a lifetime documentation of physics and it sounded awesome too.
Thank you Peter and co for sharing this song and momentous moment for those of us in Australia, who DIDN'T get to see the Total Eclipse of the Heart - oops - Sun? :) We think more people will watch your video and enjoy the song and the eclipse, more than the scientific videos. IMO
I feel your pain, that was my 2017 experience. This time however...magical pictures and I got to take the time to actually watch it. Although, still stressful. Best laid plans.... sigh. Great song though :)
Yes, Peter, it was a very good idea! 🥰 Sorry you lost two cameras, but it turned out awesome! Your nephew did an awesome job too! Glad your drone came back too! What an awesome experience! I saw the eclipse last time it came and it was awesome! Great job team Peter! 🥰😀🌛🌝

Its astonishing.
if you are still doing this in your 60's, I will still be here watching.
I think you did a great job!! Nice work Peter! :) I loved this!!
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing everything!
I remember this!!! It’s actually a lot of fun to watch things go wrong and still have fun with it! 😂 Good times. Hope y’all enjoy today’s eclipse wherever you are!
Haha yes! Sometimes the bloopers end up being the most entertaining part. Glad you enjoyed witnessing the chaos. Definitely tried to roll with all the punches that day! 😁
Listened to your version of this song on spotify as it occurred in montreal 40 minutes ago, fantastic!
That's so cool that my cover was part of your cosmic experience! Honestly blows my mind that my music can reach across the world during these rare celestial events. Glad you vibed with it and thanks for the love! 🙌✨
I love your videos. Thank you for being honest about the video. I think young people need to see not every video is perfect and sometimes you just have to go with it! 🙂
I think that that's the perfect video for that song
You totally get it! A music video full of messy mishaps is basically the perfect vibe for that dramatic song.🥰
So sorry 😢
I remembered this happening back then & looked you up, hoping you'd had a better experience this time. I do love the song. 🤗 Reminds me of my growing up years. Would love to have found a 2024 eclipse version.
Thanks! I still look up to you
Super great idea, and we all appreciate the magic!
OMG I remember that video very well! I loved it! it was 7 years ago? no waaaay!
I was able to have my own experience in 2017 because of this video. Thank you for making it since it’s probably the closest I can ever come to seeing something this spectacular. I watched the video in 2017 and searched to watch it again this morning ❤
Great idea....awesome video....but some things just don't happen twice in our lifetimes and are more important than anything else
Totally worth it... and the behind the scenes is the BEST! Between the eclipse energy and mercury in retrograde you were kind of doomed with the tech cooperating.😂 I love what you did here!!❤
I am sorry it didn’t go to plan!!!
Just seems how it goes some times.
Important thing is how we pick up ourselves after failing 😉
After seeing the eclipse today, I was going to revisit your music video when I came home... come to find you'd posted this! :D
Watching it on NASA's UA-cam channel.
Can't wait unil youbput it all together and release it! Love this song!!!❤
I was too!
I found your content because of the 2017 eclipse!
After your first attempt, I'm so glad it worked out better this time!
You should totally do this again in your sixties ❤ This was an excellent idea ❤
I kid you not...I was thinking of how epic ot would be if some anyone were to sing that song during an actual Eclips and I love your attempt 😭😭😭😭😭 (happy tears and yes slightly sad this happened to you but extremely glad that you tried!)
So KOOOL 😊! Your videos are always amazing to watch 🎊 🎉
I have faith in you. You can take what you have and turn it into a masterpiece.
Haha I think you can totally pull it off in your 60s! Round 2! I think it was really cool even with everything going wrong.
You know I'll probably still be chasing down crazy creative visions like this into my later years. Gonna get it right one of these times! 😂
@@PeterHollens you should never quit chasing those crazy creative visions! I love them.
I think this would all go good into a one music video. Because "every now and then it fall" apart
You did great! Again! I did the eclipse and thank you, the best song choice ever for that particular moment. But then, I’m a child of the sixties. ❤❤🇺🇸🥰🇺🇸🙏
Thank you for this video! 😀💐
Also, missed you! Glad to see you back! 🥰😁😃
I was watching this yesterday and it was so cool
Bro Peter nothing but respect and I loved it! You’re amazing and this was amazing :-) don’t pass up the doing it at 60 idea. You never know what could happen :-)
Amazing timing! I *just* watched the original video from 2017.
Love it. I am in Florida we did not get any of the eclipse. Epic video.
Aww bummer! But hey, at least you got to live vicariously through my hilarious video fail. An iconic experience either way!
Florida will be the next path of totality in 20 years!
You've got a way of making me chuckle with stuff like this. Sorry it didn't work out. I would highly request "Bink's Brew" from One Piece as you next video
Haha I do love giving you all a good chuckle! And ooh 'Bink's Brew' would be an epic cover, I'll add it to the list!
@@PeterHollens Thanks. I really did chuckle quite I bit. I'm sure everyone love for you to sing "Bink's Brew". I hope you consider the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers theme song too or a mixture of all the theme songs with all the seasons
