Good stuff Ralph! My new pond kit should be coming in next week!
Exciting! Have fun with the install. Be sure to ask if you have questions. 👍
Thanks Ralph!
Thank you, my pond pump is working but there is a loud sound coming from it. I am getting ready to clean the pond so I will make sure I give the pump a check up. Hopefully once cleaned and checked it will be back to normal.
Hopefully this info helps 👍
@@pondscapesaz I have a question for you. Do you have any recommendations on how to decrease root growth in the waterfall box? Some years the growth is massive and I have to cut it away to remove the lava rock bags .
thanks for the sub!!
Nice video. My poodles fall pump suddenly quit working suddenly. It's about 2 years old. I havent taken it out of the water in its life. I troubleshoot it take it apart and I find water has penetrated the seals. The motor is saturated. What are my odds of drying it out over the week and it runs again? Currently, when I plug it in it runs for 3 seconds then trips the breaker. Any hope of drying out over the week and finding out it works properly again? I'll either add new gaskets or use the stuff in the tube.....
It’s possible that it will work after drying. The danger is that if the seal continues to fail. I have experienced situations where the pump seals have failed but does not trip the GFCI or breaker. Not fun. I would encourage you to invest in a new pump to be safe.
Ralph, Excellent video! My problem is different than what you addressed. My AquaSurge Pro 4000-8000 pump pulses within a few seconds, and has stopped delivering water to my sugar kettle waterfall. I've removed it from the sump and determined that virtually no debris was present, and the impeller spins easily in both directions. I submerged it on the surface in a large plastic container to allow ease of observation, and can see that it is delivering water at a low rate (no matter what setting is used on the remote control) while pulsing repeatedly. Any ideas on what's going on?
I have seen this before. In my situation we had to replace the pump. Fortunately it was within the warranty period. Sorry I couldn’t give you better news. Good luck 👍
@@pondscapesaz Ralph, I was able to get some excellent technical advice from the manufacturer (AquaScape), and by using the bypass toggle on the base of the receiver confirmed that the pump will put out a constant, high volume (8000cfm) flow, indicating that the source of the problem in my case is not the pump, but the much less expensive receiver. Model # 45038. Now to find an in-stock replacement...
@@bjdavis9785 Awesome! Where are you located? I might be able to help.
@@pondscapesaz Just now seeing your comment. Thanks for the offer, but I've ordered it and it should be delivered today. I am in The Woodlands, just north of Houston, TX.
I have a waterfall pump that won't spin. It is clean as a whistle. The impeller wants to buzz and not spin left nor right. I've tried pushing it with a screwdriver while plugged in and buzzing and it is hard to push right or left, like a magnet is keeping it from spinning. I removed the impeller, and when unplugged, i can turn it by hand and it feels good/tight. Put the impeller back in, plug it in and it just buzzes. It is a 2000gph pump. I see no damage to the impeller or anything the impeller sits inside of. Is my pump simply garbage or is there something I am missing? I am at such a loss trying to figure out why it quit.
First off NEVER try to spin a pump impeller while it is plugged in. Even a small pump can take a chunk out of your finger or worse. If the pump is free of debris then I would say it is time to say goodbye to the old pump and invest in a new one. Good luck ✌️
@@pondscapesaz I got it working and lost no fingers. Continued using a screwdriver to manipulate the impeller, plugged in, unplugged. Gave it some smacks with a hammer. It's been working every day now in my pond since then with no problem. No need for a new pump.
The dogs in the background at the beginning of the video were a bit distracting, they were flat out having a blast❣🙂🐕
Nothing I can do about those two. They have no respect when I am trying to create important content. 🤷♂️😀
