I can't believe anyone would unsubcribe over printer content.
That said, your experiences to date have put me off getting involved in them.
I'll stick to old fashioned modelling, although I'll buy other people's stuff like your harp.
Looking forward to seeing what you produce in 2024.
Yours is my favourite modelling channel by miles.
Yes the 3D thing can be frustrating until you get your printer dialled in. Both the Sk1 and Neptune are each behaving nicely now and I control them remotely with confidence they will just do the task requested. As for more 3D videos, I want to make them, but may setup a seperate channel with a weekly update about my printing adventures. Showing topics like todays Cat Flap bracket, to hold the hinges in place, which I designed after Bask broke the small hingers on her cat flap.

You could put the big fish close to the camera,the Stingray a little farther back,and put a small fish, even farther back from the camera,and create a nice 3D display!

That Sunderland is superb. I’d always wanted to make one (since 1971), so a few years ago I bought i 9:28 t and immediately went down with swine flu. I doubt the two events were connected, but I lost the mojo. It stayed in the loft, forever associated with the dreaded lurgy, until I sold it on eBay. One day, I might have another go…😁
Sorry to hear that Mista Thing… it’s like me with Tamiya kits… had such a disappointing first build that it has taken a decade until I found a kit of theirs that I actually enjoy

Yay, Another awesome year of builds to look forward to. I for one would be interested in some dedicated 3d printing videos now that you seem to be on top of it.Oh and no breaking or pulling of various body parts, getting old sucks.
I am considering adding a separate channel just for dedicated 3D stuff, and only show a little printing in my model build videos when I upgrade or improve them.
Looking forward to the ships. I only have one old pirate ship, but having fun figuring out how to make her the Caribbean terror

The Schleswig-Holstein looks quite interesting. Way back in 1987 I picked up a copy of AH's Jutland and of course the Warspite and the S-H are featured as ship pieces, but I always liked those little pocket battleships. In the game they might have been small but they were tough and effective

Nice walkthrough all the 2023 builds. So the Swimming shoe is scheissen 😮 And I was looking forward adding it to my stash for an enjoyable build.. anyhow, like the new logo 👍 Looking forward to the 2024 projects ✨👍✨
Just avoid the fiddly and useless suspension. Glue it all in solid, then get on with the rest of the build which is not that bad. Just watch that seam from the upper body to the chassis. You may want to fix that first before doing the suspension, just ignore the inaccurate and very confusing instructions.

Forget the printer critics, they're as bad as the Fokkers.
I will still be printing the odd part and tool to improve my scale modelling builds, but I might make a seperate channel to discuss 3D printing in more depth, for those interested.

Had a great year watching and getting excited to build my own models I managed 7 in 23 I got 5 planed for 24 including 1 battleship so all your hints & tips will be looked forward to. Stay cool 😎
7 is a good number Roger…. I use to knock out up to 20 kits a year before the plague… life has changed so much. I have to work twice the hours for half the money so only 2 last year, better than nothing.

I've been thinking of doing a Sunderland as I was in 423sqn prior to retirement in 2015. Debating dealing with the older (but cheaper) Airfix kit that I've seen at the museum kit shop I buy most of my kits from...
Nothing wrong with the Airfix kit, if you get an early moulding, as I did. You don’t even have to do all the scratch upgrades as I did, just build it out of the box, it’s a lot of fun, and very rewarding.
@@HarryHoudiniModels I've been getting too picky lately, like with the C-130 selection- Zvezda kicked Italeri's butt, but over here is $30Cdn more. On the other hand I spent hours trying to make the Italeri ones more accurate... I need to do some easier happy-stuff.

Inspired by your ship based activities I am nearing the end of building the Trumpeter 1/350 Graf Spee. My first (and extremally amateurish effort compared to yourself) battleship for many a decade!
I have really enjoyed it but feel the need to get back to something with tracks as well as armor and big guns :)

Thanks Alister.. the Graf Spee always has a special place in my heart. I look at my build everyday when I awake. It’s in a cabinet in my bedroom.
@@HarryHoudiniModels Harry, can I ask a possibly daft question? When fitting the main armament to this kit there is hardly any clearance behind the turrets and the superstructure. The traverse would only be a few degrees to port or starboard. Have I mucked up the kit? It looks as per the instructions and colour scheme page but I cant believe this was the case on the real ship. Thanks.
That does not sound right. My main turrets each traverse 270 degrees. Best email me some photos of how you assembled that part, then I might be able to see what the issue is. harry@houdinimodels.com

Great review and thoughts as always, although not sure if the ‘just a bit of wiring…’ is slightly optimistic (Honda F1) To paraphrase the old saying that ‘plans only last as long as the first touch with reality’ but as long as you enjoy it that’s the best plan of all really. For me it doesn’t matter, your content is always worth watching. There is always great skill and humour on offer, I wish other ‘creators’ would take note. Good luck in 2024. Regards

Thanks for not only reading my nonsense but taking the time to reply. It is very much appreciated. I admire your ambition, and that is very uplifting especially when you’re with a model that seems to want to battle you every step (Tamiya Ferrari 312T4 for me). The Bounty will be an (award winning?) magnificent model, as with all the others. Even if it gets across the in 2027, the humour you will bring will make the journey well worth it. Best wishes. You mention doing subs for 2025,how about getting hold of a Imai Skydiver kit as seen in UFO?
I reviewed the Flying Sub kit years ago, and want to do it as well as finish off my other Sci-Fi work in progress languishing on the shelf of procrastination. But that wont happen until 2025. I had already built the Sky1 kit from UFO years ago.

I just got a rare battleship kit to build (at least I think it's rare). It's the Ise from what is now Tamiya's waterline series. I gotta say, i love rigging, and HATE Camo & Tamiya's instructions. At least camo for 1:700. Other wise, nice kits, go together in a week, and quick builds...another complaint with Tamiya, I like building things, and making 'em work, like Airfix, Revell & Trumpeter. And as for why I hate camo on 1:700 scale, involves me trying to do the Baltic camo on Prinz Eugen...loath it, but I'm to far in to turn back. I'm thinking of getting a '69 charger next. Coming from a 23y/o, that's a pretty car, like most American muscle from that era...
I had a whole fleet of 1/700 scale kits, but realised my fading eyesight and wombat fumbling fingers would not do them justice. Enjoy your facilities while you have them Orion. I remember the advertising on TV here in Australia for “Hey Charger” back in the 70’s.
What's wrong with 3-D printing? I think it opens up possibilities the same way resin casting did; detail seems to be better.
I'm still trying to catch up with casting my own resin parts....
I love 3D printing, but it seems too many videos about that on my channel killed my views and subs… I will still keep designing tools and making replacement parts for my builds, but mostly what my viewers want to see is modelling videos.
2024 plans are simple: do the half you didn't do in 2023.
