In nfld the winter storms in my opinion out do this Larry tropical thing. It knocked out power and people's trees but I dread the wind and large amounts of snow in our winter blizzards. A recent 3 day snowstorm brought us 100 centimtres of snow with people trapped in their homes up to a week. The army had to come in.
@@moder123 just an opinion ....the hurricane dudnt affect me but I see now in the aftermath it was terrible. So yes a hurricane is worse than a blizzard or depends on ur situation both can be deadly.

Hi H L, Thanks for your kind comments! This is the first time i ever experienced a hurricane. Northern lattitudes rarely see hurricanes as they get their power from warm tropical waters. However I live in Vancouver and we do get strong windstorms but not hurricanes.

Just a quick comment 36 hours after the storm. Nobody was hurt, a few power lines down (60,000) without power, 16,000 without 24 hours later. Some damage to older buildings but nothing that can’t be fixed. A few trees down but to be expected when not indigenous to Newfoundland. Personally I had about 500 lbs of apples to clean up so got done early this year. Stay safe from Newfoundland everyone

@@wgon8763 Hi WGON, I only noticed damage to the small trees in front of the Best Western Hotel where I was staying as well A traffic light fell just outside the hotel.

It was actually more than continental. They served a breakfast sandwich with your choice of bacon or sausage and you could add on three different types of yogurt as well plus apples, oranges and bananas. Yea or coffee of course and all was included in our room rate.
Major damage all over the city. Trees uprooted. Bricks ripped from apartment buildings and thrown into cars. Wind gusts up to 160km. Roads were washed out. As well.

You are right on in your comments. Harsh winter storms are so much more to deal with and cause more damage and hardships for everyone.
