I see both of those from my house and I live in meriden. If you ever want a very good place to see sunsets like probably the best ones in whole state go to top of Ann st meriden and you will see what I'm saying
I lived in ct for 50 years. Moved to South Carolina going on 3 years now . At first I loved it hear . But now I’m missing Ct . I miss the change of seasons . It’s we’re my heart is . I’m moving back with my wife and family in a couple months.
I lived in Weston CT for years and unfortunately was unaware of most of these places ....Sad really, because they are place's I would have enjoyed. Now living in Northern California. CT is a very beautiful place and will always have a special place in my heart.
Being a lifelong Connecticut resident and 40 year Harley rider I have visited most of these places. This was very well done. I live about 1 mile from Hubbard Park, Castle Craig is the highest peak within 25 miles of the ocean on the entire East Coast.
Southford Falls in Oxford\Southbury CT is definitely one of my favorite places to go. A few miles up route 6 is also the Orenaug Firetower. The fire tower is around 5 stories tall and gives a very nice view of the Woodbury area. Worth a day trip to hit the tower at sunrise and hike the falls afterwards. Also Southford falls is great in the winter, especially right as the snow is melting. Both are short hikes and the start of the falls could even be walked to from the parking lot although it does carry down half of the east side of the trail. Also although very cautious when going, I love the view of Waterbury from Holy Land. The place itself is decayed, abandoned, and over-run with all kinds of litter, but just to go up, park, and take a mid-day panorama shot, it is worth a quick trip. Excellent Work @Love What you Do.
Since moving to Branford, CT from the Naugatuck Valley (Ansonia, Derby & Seymour), I can hands down recommend the Stony Creek Village of Branford. I call it a mini Martha's Vineyard. There are tour boats with guides around the Thimble Islands, water taxis to bring you to a natural birding island, the President Taft Summer White House, and in-town there are plenty of shops, coffee & pizza shops, a newly renovated live Theater and a hiking trail that brings you over some tidal marshes. It's a really nice area also with some B&B's in case you want to stay a while.
Another nice hike is black rock state park in watertown/thomaston ct, there's a trail up to the top of the mountain with a great view 👍 as well as a beach, campgrounds, and picnic area, the blue trail goes thru
Harkness State Park has always been a special place for me and my family. Beautiful mansion and gardens serve for a venue for many weddings. the grounds and beach front offer a relaxing place for families of all ages to picnic an best of all fly kites!
I was born and raised in East Haddam CT and moved away when I graduated high school. I’m now 58 and live in CO, but desperately miss CT and particularly the ocean. At my age the idea of moving back and not knowing anyone is very anxiety producing. Starting over is no small task but I do miss it 😢 Chapman Falls was named after my grandmother’s family. I grew up a few miles from Devil’s Hopyard and have very fond memories. Maybe because of the name, Devil’s, it was always kind of a scary place to drive through at night as a child, coming home from somewhere in the dark. I always thought the boogeyman was gonna get us 😂
Everybody is so nice and welcoming here you shouldn’t be nervous to move back! you should check it out and see all that has changed. I would recommended Central CT the other areas can get a little bit weird lol
I visited Colorado on January 21st and I was surprised how crowded it was, I always thought it was very remote but towns and cities are way too busy for my New England mind.

Got say I was born in Stamford but Hartford CT is my favorite city. Since the 90s spent alot time there lived in Parkville off of Park St. On Bartholomew. My some of family still lives there. But they were originally from Author ave in the BX NYC. DA Hartbeat is my CITY and NYC to..
I proposed to my fiancé at Wadsworth Falls. There is a large white tree on the bank that is opposite from the parking area; right by the mouth of that little bay formed by the falls. The tree bears a carving memorializing that day. Gorgeous place!
Best hike I have ever experienced is Roaring Brooks Falls in Cheshire CT. I take the quinnipiac trail from prospect town line right into Cheshire to the falls. The falls is the largest in CT at 80 Ft and is a thing of beauty.
Thank you I have lived in Connecticut for a long time and didn't know about most of these places. Some places you should check out in Connecticut.....Lantern Hill in Ledyard CT. Bluff Point in Groton CT. And the Arboretum at Connecticut College in New London.....all great for taking pictures

I live in Newtown, CT and I walk through the Fairfield Hills with my dogs. It's a peace of history that haunts the town in infamy. There is a brewery in the "asylum park." It's become a staple for avid walkers and sport enthusiasts. I prefer to be known for this area of town then the tragedy that occurred in '12 in Sandy Hook. Most people don't know but Sandy Hook and Newtown are two different towns that share their education and medical emergency services. CT in general is a beautiful state to visit.
I grew up in Washington, ct & Bristol i've always loved just getting in the car or bike and just drive off up Rt 8 heading out towards Otis mass. Or down heading to the shores of Old Saybrook,ct. & many many places in between.
A nice video. I've lived in CT for 65+ years. I visited the Smithsonian in 1976 where they had the 1876 CT Centennial display up again. There were magnificent display panels of CT manufactured products. There was a huge Collins display of highly polished tool heads. I spent a couple of hours studying the board. I then turned around and studied the Colt display. There are some very kool places to visit east of the river too. Good Luck, Rick
While in college, my friends and I went to Fairfeild hills late one night. Every building we went to was unlocked and we walked around and explored around 3am.ish . One my buddy's dropped his glasses and dodnt say anything til we got back to SCSU, s we went back at 8 in the morning and every building we went onto several hours earlier was now locked. It's a very very spooky Creepy place to "ghost hunt" we broke into a morgue area on another trip there and cops came and arrested us. Still was a very creepy exciting night tho. Amazing place to explore
MTV filmed an episode (or two) of their show FEAR there. I remember a scene where the contestants were walking down a dark hallway and they heard creaks and banging sounds. It was obviously coming from hidden speakers that were rigged to try and scare them.
I've been to most of these. The Haddam area of the state is one of my favorites. Hubbard Park is great, too. There's also a beautiful trail somewhere in Washington, I believe. Thanks for sharing! --new subscriber

The old Collins Axe Factory was divided from the Antique shop, a bridal photography, and Art gallery when I stop there.
