I have watched this video several times and enjoy it more each time. I cannot imagine these sales tactics being used today, but I still find it amusing.

4:36 the salesmen uses "bird dogs" to sniff out prospects, including the barber! And we thought Google was intrusive in our lives!

This reminds me of a 1950s cop drama with the rookie teaming up with the Vet.

1949. Single bullet in the grille, with "F O R D" spelled out above the grille, unlike the FORD emblem on the '50.

If every car salesman were as aggressive as Trader Joe, you wouldn't dare to drive around town, park your car, or answer the telephone.

I've worked with some smooth salesmen. After a few years if you did it right the customers will come to you when its trade in time. You can do no wrong after that.

Interesting...when I used to sell cars right out of college (about 2006) we weren't allowed to leave the dealership. All cold approaches had to be by internet or phone. We always had to be present in case someone showed up at the showroom.

Finally, he gets the girl in the end. I sell motorcycles and power equipment. I get so enthusiastic about it, I get up early and look towards my opportunity to meet and greet, sell myself and the dealership, the product then the making of a friend and $$$$ will follow. If you have the knack for sales, it's not work....I love these films as they show how much the salesmans job hasn't changed all that much....☻

P.S. Stay off recreational drugs and being hungover....Looking back if I wasn't hungover and or trying to feed a drug dependency I would have been the G.M 100 times over...Stay in the moment clean. Let off steam in YOUR personal time allowing your mind and body to recover. Just a little advice.

i do this with girls. I got birddogs giving me tips anytime some girl breaks up with her boyfriend. then i go over to their address to deliver my sales pitch. or sometimes, if i see a good looking woman, I will approach and ask her if she is willing to trade in her old husband for a new husband.
