- Hi & Welcome to the channel, I own a car showroom in the southwest and today I want to show you around the Range Rover Sport L494 & compare it to the BMW X5 M-Sport F15. Which one would you prefer?
Please remember to like & subscribe to the channel!
I think this guy is range rover fan from the way he is reviewing.
X5 all The way🤠
Absolutely
Always had x5s currently got the x7 but I'm liking the Range Rovers of late.
I like the coffee in Land Rover garage’s waiting rooms, so I would go for the RRS
They are now offering Bed and breakfast for routine repairs
I considered buying a Land Rover Range Rover Sport and the model I checked out failed its MOT (UK) Test EVERY YEAR until the major failures were rectified.
Bless the souls and bank balances of the previous owners.
Currently drive an X5 M Sport but contemplating a RR Sport next. What puts me off is the RR Sport's reliability........or lack of. The BMW has been 'bombproof'!
Mines just ticked over 168K miles, I don’t think I’ll be changing away from Range Rover anytime soon 😅
@@condorvehiclesalesltd you must be a lucky one
Still the Range Rover for me, the car the X5 wants to be 😊
If an X5 wanted to be a Range Rover it would have to undo 100 years of at least trying to build a decent car
Excellent review side by side although the x5 looks mean the RRS just looks so much better from all angles IMO. I was interested in the RRS but insurance costs, and reliability have put me off.
Hopefully the ludicrous insurance quotes will settle down in the new year and LR come to the table with a solution 🙄
I’m a true LANDROVER fan and have owned for 30 years plus but my sensible head would choose the BMW however I’m not a very sensible person so it would be the RRS for me 😂
I looked into both cars last week. For a comparable model valued around £20k, the RRS insurance is at least 2-4k but the X5 is only £900. Given the security issues and insurance costs and scarcity of parts, getting a RRS just still isn't a good idea right now!
Its X5 for me dont want to visit dealers everytime from range rover for many issues LOL
Hi mate, good video as I’m contemplating between the two. I have actually seen a RR Sport Autobiography 2016 plate with full JLR history, cambelt change done at 94k miles and current mileage at 101k, priced at £24k. Car is in excellent condition mechanically and electronically (I am no mechanic) but everyone keeps saying to me avoid at all costs. I have looked at the X5 and a very nice vehicle but I keep being swayed by the R Sport! What would you advise?
It really does come down to a personal preference, I rate both the Range Rover and the BMW X5 highly as they’re both a luxurious drive. My personal preference is a Range Rover but that doesn’t mean it won’t ever go wrong. The German engineering will have the edge on the X5 but I still choose to drive the Range Rover.. let me know what you decide 😎
@@condorvehiclesalesltd thanks for getting back to me. I’m being swayed more towards the RR (I have test drive a couple and now everything is being compared to the RR) but it’s the scare stories that I hear of the astronomical costs users have experienced that is casting a doubt in my head. Have you had major issues experienced with the RR that you think I should be aware of?
But the X5 is also a beautiful car! Dilemma dilemma!
@@IrfanOomerI've had this particular RR for the last 5 years. Bought it 2nd hand from the main dealership with 2 years warranty and after that been paying £1500 per annum for LR extended warranty to avoid any nasty bills! Fortunately haven't had any breakdowns all these years but servicing ain't cheap! Am considering switching to X5. Btw, looks wise, can't beat the RR! BMW X5 is more subtle!
I find the Range Rover to be more Beastly looking and chunky.
Especially sitting higher… it is beautiful.!! The x5 is a pretty lady but the range has a big more looks in certain areas.
But the dashboard and interior is soooo boring..
And they lean in the slightest turn like tug boats .!!
I would take any, but I prefers the x5 for its drive ability.
BMW drives like it’s glued to the road, the Range Rover feels like it’s a tug boat steering along stormy waters I hated it .!!
But for highway or straight road city driving the range feels good.
Anything too aggressive even at the slightest the BMW eats it alive.
Range Rover is super comfortable inside u can sleep in there. Until u hit a corner or turn that is too deep.
That lean will make you up.
The x5 feels comfortable inside but not rock you too sleep like the range . But on corners and turns. It will not be moved.
You will not lean
Yea definitely the bmw handles great, I had the E70 and I feel that was a really good handling suv. Now I have the F15 and in sport mode it really does handle great
Had both prefer the x5 f26 in terms of driving and responsiveness RRS l494 feels like I’m sitting higher and that’s about it. Infotainment is sluggish and dated , Bmw x5 screen is bigger and more better tech .
Money no object, I’d have both!
I recently changed from F15 to L494 and i think you hit the nail on head on in terms of performance despite having the same ZF gearbox X5 was quicker to respond to throttle inputs where you feel little bit more lag in the RRS ( in the early ones anyway) 15 plate onwards they updated to 306 bhp which has less of a lag apparently. X5 is much more agile in my opinion I found X5 with adaptive dampers much more comfortable than the L494 but despite having 20" runflats. However seats in the RRS compare to Msport seats are better. I also found the Harman Kardon Sound system is better than the Meridian in the RRS.
They’re both fantastic cars, are you happy with the choice you made or would you prefer to have your F15?
@@condorvehiclesalesltd Tthey both do things little bit differently, working for a farming business i would have the RRS, but if its just normal roads i would have the x5, even better maybe g05
Which seats are better? Front or back?
Exactly the two I cross shopped. In the end it wasn't even close. X5 by a mile. The RR is a such a poser.
range rover is king
Range rover sport sdv8 😍
Great choice!
Which car is more comfortable for long road trips?
I would say for the longer motorway journeys the Range Rover is more comfortable, although it’s not as if the F15 is by any means uncomfortable!
You won't be going to far in the Rangey , it will be on the back of a recovery truck , although as my mate who owns one says it saves on fuel while its being recovered
@@Monty-kr7py crank shaft failure non stop! 3 Engine changes in one yeat. Diesel is hell. Petrol is fine though
The F15 is fun to drive but the range is more comfortable. The responsiveness on the F15 is on another level though
Interesting review, although I think this guy is a Range Rover fan. Therefore, I feel that the review as a whole is fairly biased.
I think what everybody is trying to say everyone would like the Range Rover, but the BMW would be a hell of a lot more reliable
BMW X5 😁
X5 🫡👍🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

I work on the motorway , look about as you travel any Landrover product is either on the side of the road , back of a truck or in a garage , if youv'e got children you can pick a model and see who gets the most 👍
RR looks better
So what
RR has much more class….x5 doesn’t…
As he said personal preference I know guy’s especially mechanics that wouldn’t have either because they worked on both and seen all the scary stories on both sides RR and BMW you can be lucky and unlucky with both cars
Nobody in their right mind buys a RR out of warranty , they are absolute shite , Landrover have never made anything close to reliable , wonderful , classical , tech leading , but woefull mechanically BMW might have some issues but they are nothing compared to RR ,but on the rare days they are actually working RR are fantastic
