Nutmeg Nor'Easter | Non-Competitive Alt Cycling World Championship | Gravel Riding in Connecticut

- The Nutmeg Nor'easter is kind of a gravel riding event. There were multiple routes that had a bit of everything -dirt, gravel, single track, country roads and everything in between. There were two nights of camping and amazing food on and from Cold Spring Farms. There was a swap meet and great programming including talks by frame builder Peter Weigle with Ronnie Ultra Romance, New Haven RAR, Joe Cruz(bikepacking.com), photography and bike touring with Karla Robles and Daniel Zaid. There was also a fixed gear Scorcher Race. I couldn't have hoped for a more fun and beautiful weekend in Connecticut. Ben and I hit the road and toured the state afterwards so stay tuned for more vids from this trip.

Mate if you ever get a chance i was wondering if you could put together a short video of all the bikes from that weekend?
I would have had to have done that at the time. I plan to do that with our bike packing set ups going forward and other events that I go to.

Yeah - this was one of the best event type rides I’ve ever done. I met sooo many cool people, food was awesome(from the farm) and great speakers. So fun! He announces this at the last minute and then it sells out. So keep your eye on his IG late summer/early fall.

Big campfire was near Sign-In/food area.

@@deskofalexestes They lit it on the later side. It actually went up really quick and Ronnie and a bunch of people ran over thinking the kitchen lit on fire or something!

It was an awesome event - I think everyone did have a great time - so many smiles! I actually ended up closer to where you are from. After the event me and a buddy spent a few days touring the state. I run 42mm Rene Herse Hurricane Ridges with the normal casing, Ben on the All City had wider ones with the endurance casing and Erin was running 48mm Ultra Dynamico’s.
