First, master the music, intonation, rhythm by humming QUIETLY IN HEAD VOICE WITH OPEN HUM. Second, sing on OO with an extremely quiet sound - sotto voce. Third, have men singing in head falsetto and octave higher than written and women singing in chest voice an octave lower. Then chance to AH. Always being conscious of a relaxed Adam's apple / yawning position and ALWAYS THE SAME SOTTO VOCE EXTREMELY QUIET SOUND as if you are far far away. Then finally at the end add words but always the same volume.
@@seanmcdermott7256 do you have the rest of his instruction on this Sicut Cervus? Or may be you can send me an email or video of the points he pointed out for the rest of the pice?
He is the best!!! Love you Paul!
Paul . . . What a gift from God ! You are truly, truly missed.
It's absolutely sublime!
Genialny człowiek. Przypomina mi prof. Stuligrosza, prof. Hertera i dra Karwowskiego :)

CAn you advise if there is another video 2 of 2 where he continues, or is this all the recording you have?
we love you Mr. Paul
Wow, Maria Von Trapp! what a cool story. "doesn't look like Julie Andrews". thank you for this video!
I miss hearing that Maria Von Trapp story... RIP Maestro
Loved spending 7 days with Paul in Hawaii, most memorable choral experience of my life!!
I could never work with this choir director
Why not? I once sang the Duruflé Requiem with him. It was sublime. The colors he could get from choirs was amazing.
@@seanmcdermott7256 because he’s an arrogant ass the way he speaks to the choristers.

I studied with Christa Ludwig and she always said it’s always OO. She called this the E point… actually it was ü. This is very similar!!
