So far I'm still happy with my SE-02 Roland Boutique. Even sold my Moog Sub 25 as I still feel better with the very flexible SE. But I guess those who want bigger knobs, better connectivity, the 3X can be very appealing.
I previously owned the SE-02. it sounds good but I could get along with the tiny size. I wasn't as inviting to used as the SE-3X.

Really great review, especially the pros and cons. Thank you.
Thank you for watching. Cheers, TJ
on 9:13 its filter amp not filter attack. Great Review! CHerrs!
Yeah, I need to slow down before I talk lol. Thanks for watching, TJ
They do the Omega 8 as well. The MidiMini is their more well known.
Every single synth of theirs is great, though pricey as hell.
All the Studio Electronics gear is very good. They get it. It's the price you pay for boutique quality.

there is no attack in the sound... don't hear it?
The envelopes are not super fast or clicky. Not un-typical of analog. The sound has more weight than attack. That can sit in the mix better IMO.

@@tjontheroad OK. Then the synth is not for me. I need maximum attack for specific sounds like my psytrance bassline. thanks
Most all vintage style analog synths with analog envelopes (not digital EG recreations) will tend to have a softer feel. That's a part of their appeal. For quick snappy envelopes, look towards more modern offerings like the Pro3 I'm using as a controller in the video.
What are you talking about? Se3x has diffrent kind of envelopes. It has also envelopes from se02 by roland and from seOMEGA synth. It snaps enough and weights a ton.
lotta noise whenever the synth plays..
Any noise you may hear is coming from the mixer used after the synth.
