Ben Stiller is quickly becoming one of my favorite directors. Tropic thunder is hilarious, but Severance is a masterpiece
Amen! Season two needs to cmon
Severance was the most underrated show. I only watched it because of a friend. Everyone that I've recommended it to, is mindblown that it hasn't gotten more attention.
I’ll have to check it out. Was curious but it seemed edgy.
He’s so underrated
I just watched the trailer because of your comment. That looks so good! Thanks!
Tropic Thunder is one of the best movies ever.
It's a great movie.
Correct
The other 10% don’t speak to him anymore
When they learned that the “booty sweat” drink and the “bust-a-nut” granola bar weren’t real they lost it on him😔
But they would be triggered over anything
Fuck them 😂😂😂😂
Terrence Howard is one of the 10%
I’m kidding, I don’t know
the 10% probably didn’t like his Australian accent
Stiller is a horribly underrated filmmaker
He truly is. Every time I watch Tropic Thunder I laugh my ass off.
Bruh I have nightmares about how underrated he is and I wake up in a cold sweat
So true, just all around great artist!!
Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) is one of his best projects
He directed some episodes of Severance on Apple TV. One of the greatest shows running today, he's amazing behind the camera
Ben directed BOTH RDJ and Tom Cruise in 2 of their most memorable comedic roles ever! That is top level stuff.
Never forgot Ben and Tom cruise laughing 🤣🤣🤣
So true... Ben and Tom ... beautifully hillarious..
Is there a clip?
@@larafroeschl7083 Search: Ben stiller as Tom Cruise stunt double
now i went from those 2 scenes to here. incredible. heh the algorithm
90% of 5 is 4 and a half to be fair
Tropic thunder 2008
Not all heroes wear capes, some wear Big Bang Theory profile pictures.
@@jackfrank7398 how could you not know this movie man, it was bigger than Iron man in 2008 lol
Ben was supposed to make 2 more but got bored of it lmao.
@@SauceOnChickenBallnah I know the movie, I watched it and I thought it was heaps good. I was just giving the dude some props for throwing out the name of the movie for those who may not know.
Some heros drink booty Sweat, others eat “Gummy bears”,
@@jackfrank7398 👻👍🏻😂
it’s because no hate was behind the men making this movie. all out of love and finding yourself if you really think about it. such a great movie.
Exactly!!! It's pretty easy to tell when somebdy is being comedic and somebdy who has I'll intentions with with it ! N we act accordingly
I partially disagree. I agree that there were pure intentions behind the jokes, but the jokes have got to land. If someone has good intentions but is a hack, the jokes don’t land, which muddies the intentions (“what were they trying to say”).
Another thing about the good intentions: you have to accept responsibility when you go out on a limb of controversy. There can be consequences, so one should be cognizant of the risks and willing to accept them.
It’s the hacks, the comedians that rely on shock without bringing the funny, that whine and complain about P.C. culture. If they just accepted their failure and spent time on improving instead of spending it moaning and groaning about how it’s unfair they can’t be edgy without consequences.
@@MarcosElMalo2 - Black people shit on white people all day every day.
Every single role they play, they demand lines that shit on white people.
What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
They need mocking.
My friend Sam said it perfectly about the character. He goes… “it’s amazing that the dude who is so honest with everyone else on set is the one who is the least real with himself”
@@johnhudecek5667 That’s really deep. Your friend is a genius.
Ben is an underrated comedy writer. He created some of the most ICONIC comedy movies for the past 20+ years
Anybody that has not watched dodgeball with their mom, is missing out in life.
His sketch comedy tv show was hilarious too. It should not have been in the ratings cellar, but there it was. Then it was gone.
Not underrated at all, I'd say him and Adam Sandler are 2 of the best.
I worked on Zoolander with him, he was acting in the scene and directing it, huge funeral scene… the extras that were supposed to flood in on que kept missing their ques… at one point I myself wanted to bark at them to pay attention (I would’ve never done that for real) and Ben got up on the mic and there was this moment where I thought he was going to yell at them… but instead he spoke to them so thoughtfully and respectful that I was totally impressed with his professionalism and talent while acting in the scene.
I suspect he learned that demeanor from his Dad
That’s so cool that you have that experience 😊
Man as a black man I’m say that’s our guy right there he played a real black man in a movie not no corny shit
He didn't technically play a black guy, though.
@@My-cat-is-staring-at-youjust the guy playing the black guy
Tom Cruise: "I'll do it, but I want fat hands and I choreograph my own dance"
Ben Stiller’s commitment to film making is peerless. His work ethic is incredible.
So happy to have RDJ speak on how great Ben Stiller is. This makes me smile.
Ben Stiller and Justin Theaureu did the writing for "Tropic Thunder". Absolute comedic masterpiece. I love it!
Really enjoyed Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Ben always finds a way to bring a smile to my face.
Its one of my favs
I loved it too.
Yessir. Mitty was my jam. That's what I like about Ben. Not afraid to do something unique.
Zoolander is still my favourite, with Something about Mary right up there with it 🤣
i only watched it recently and yeah it's wonderful
Tropic Thunder is a comedic masterpiece. It is up there with some of the greatest comedy movies of all time.
Hes done several of them. Meet The Parents is gold, There's Something About Mary is gold, Cable Guy is gold.
@@chriswilson1968 I agree except cable guy that movie is painful to watch it is so bad.
@@BobbyCarlBoozeDoc I think it's a great movie lol it was his first one tho I believe.
It's a big budget high dollar comedy which never gets made.Comedies are always low budget. Stiler had idea to make a high dollar big budget comedies that's why it's so good
RDJs ability to praise his fellow man has always been a spectacle what a thoughtful and reverent guy. Yeah he can be a diva but there’s no one else in the business in my opinion that praises his co-stars, directors, producers etc. like Robert Downey Junior.
Only Robert Downey Junior could do blackface and somehow not lose his career over it…
Because he killed that shit. We accepted Dan Aykroyd in Changing Places blackface scene as well tho 🤷🏽♂️🤣🤣
Always Sunny in Philadelphia has entered the chat.
Blackface CAN be funny!!
It’s because it wasn’t made as an insult to black people.
Equivalent to the wayan brothers and the white chicks movie. No one’s making a fuss over that. The only people who are mad about this role are people who aren’t black. Shocking
I'm a dude, playing a dude, disguised as AHHH-NOTHER DUUUDEEE!! 🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍
Aww shit, now I gotta watch it.
The dudes are coming out
🖤
*Leo DiCaprio pointing meme*
but then he turned black!1
Robert Downey Jr is a class act.
This hits differently when you know he directed Severance.
“AIN’T NOTHIN’ BUT A THANG”👍
Good to see Downey looking sober & healthy.
Who can't love Robert Downey Jr
I know someone who hates RDJ with a passion. Mind you, this was when Robert was messed up on drugs, and no one in Hollywood would hire him bc he was an absolute mess. But when he got sober and it was announced that RDJ was cast as Iron Man, I was hyped. But this dude was still on the hate train due to Robert's drug history. I told him to let it go, but he never did. To this day, I don't think he's seen any Marvel movie starring RDJ.
@@mainantagonist And he has Johnny Depp to thank for Iron man since Johnny really went to bat for him with numerous Hollywood producers, hence why Robert was trying to get Johnny a role I'm the next Sherlocl Holmes movie and why he was the very first person to call JD after the trial verdict.
Man Rdj was awesome. But I just seen he’s part of the Epstein list. Soooo yeah
The other 10 percent are Terrance Howard LMAO
Come onnnn manee
@@onedaycloser2death224It's hard out here for a pimp.
🤣🤣🤣
💀
Terrance acting was so sad and boring in iron man.
Robert is my all-time❤❤ favourite actor.
Sidenote- Robert Downey, Jr. Has 10 friends with the surname " Black. " One is Jack, and he was highly offended.
This feels like it could win a Funny Comment of The Year award if anybody actually saw it
@@WK12112 YOU saw it! 😃👍
Jack Black was actually in the movie
@@troymcgraw4298 yep. He was addicted to.....uh, candy....
Clint Black declined.
I was amazed when I found out it was RDJ playing the part. Like honestly he is a great fucking actor
and the producer was Tom cruise
@@animeedits1443 no it wasn’t, Ben called Tom cruise to play the part he played in the movie
Stiller's awesome. I loved The Secret Life of Walter Mitty!
Ben Stiller is the best I hope he returns to acting he is one of my favourite comedic actors and Night at the Museum is amazing
The secret life of Walter mitty is a masterpiece
That's been on my watch list for awhile.
I always forget he was in Tropic Thunder as Lincoln Osiris. You could not pull off something like that in today’s society.
Yeah he could. Stop thinking snowflake, victim wannabes always win
Ben Stiller is the 🐐
Ben Stiller’s directing on Cable Guy
That movie sucked, saw it yesterday and it was just awful, embarrassing that I made my family go through the bloody pain of watching that movie. I have been shunned out by them and I blame the movie.. it was such a shitty ending
@@yousifyounan6579Missed the point. As most did
The work of Mr. Copula it is very underrated.
lmao the misspelling on that is just wild 😄
Lol how the fuck is Coppola underrated in anyway? One of the most revered filmmakers of all time.
@@IamFirtyDucker He's making a joke because they spelled his name wrong. Cmon dude.

Stiller is just so underrated now a days. Man all of his movies are some of my favorite comedies ever. RDJs praise is justified for sure
I have met Ben stiller in 2013, I would say this, he’s very nice and humble celebrity I ever met. Down to earth
Never forgot Ben and Tom cruise laughing 🤣🤣🤣
@@the_batmobile0.4 yea I remember that very well.
Him and Keanuu are the nicest genuince celebes IMHO
90% lol
Simple jack is always going to be underestimated, but it's gotta be in my top 3 movies.
Absolute tear jerker of an ending!
When Bens character put the directors head on his gun and kicked like a soccer ball, I fucking lost it. Such a funny film.
For a guy that played charlie and it was one of rdjs best early roles... Thats a huge complement.
Ben learned a lot of about becoming actor and comedy from both of his parents, especially his dad Jerry.
You mean Mr. Constanza?
Ben Stiller was amazing (playing "Ben Stiller") on the Ricky Gervais series Extras.
Imagine he is talking about Night at the Museum 🤣
After watching severance i can agree with him👌
The older I get the more I like Downey's talks from behind the camera. He comes off to me, in this moment, as a guy who's lived a wild life, but he's grounded and genuinely likeable despite his flaws. Fun clip. 👍
He's not good at tennis tho
-Nick Kyrgios
Kyrgios didn't say that at all
If you haven’t seen it already watch the secret life of Walter Mitty one of my favourite movies to watch when I’m with my family
Downey knows his Chaplin. That was a great movie.
They gotta make a part 2. Best movie ever
Is it just me, or does RDJ have an incredible voice? Especially when it's heard through a very high quality mic? I'm thinking he's solid podcast host material. Or ASMR connoisseur.
Copula lmao. It's Coppola
Nick would be offended
It's still one of the funniest movies ever
Ben Stiller. Severance. Flipping masterpiece. Aaaaamzing work. Amazing mind blowing story. Mystery. Detail. cast. Sets. I can’t say enough about it.
Severance is a masterpiece hands down!
The other 10% need to realize its for comedy. Like look at white chicks, no white guy get pissed at the fact their dressing up as white people, its just for comedy.
@Isaiah Prout ur weird
While I agree there was nothing problematic about roberts portrayal of a black man, there's actually historical significance to blackface unlike Whiteface. They're apples and oranges
@@thammar1990 historical significance means nothing. Its like black people saying "you enslaved our people" like ohh that was me was it? Sorry I'll let them go now my bad. It was long ago, just like original black face and absolutely nothing got to do with right now..
Yo it's a LOT of Black people mad at that movie for a ton of reasons. I personally don't care, but I tell you that hollyweird exec prolly wouldn't have grabbed Terry Crews balls and sexually assaulted him if he hadn't put that imagery out there for himself. Dude went from the NFL to the dependable Black father in Everybody Hates Chris, to licking oysters while flirting with a crossdresser...
I was pissed off jk
And kids these days follow internet performers vs ppl with true talent
Robert Downey Jr. is one of those men that gets better looking the older he gets. Ben Stiller is a comic genius.
Ben stiller's comedy is like another category
It feels nice to see humanity, goodness and humor take a W for once in awhile
Tropic thunder is definitely a hood classic 😂😂😂
The fact that he managed to make Tom Cruise as a near unrecognizable, likeable comedic villain is a skill as a writer and director.
For 400 years that word has held us back
Tropic Thunder was probably the best thing Ben Stiller ever did.
Actually I'm pretty sure it was Christine Taylor
@@christopherporter2459 hahahahaha touché
severance is a masterpiece, my favorite show/movie of 2022!
I've loved Ben Stiller since I was a kid.
One of the first movies I ever watched was Madagascar.
My favorite film as a Child was Night at the Museum sparking years of wonder and imagination in me and a fascination with learning.
Tower Heist is an EXCELLENT comedy with intense action and impactful messaging. It's basically theory.
Tropic Thunder was ridiculously funny.
And now I just finished Severance which was absolutely JAP DROPPINGLY INCREDIBLE.
Please Ben do another comedy, I think more than ever the world needs a good laugh
RDJ thrive is so focused he must have a great routine everyday
love the sentimental music in the background for RDJ discussing Stiller's work for of all movies Tropic Thunder
Nowhere near Chaplin or Coppola come on RDJ
Tropics thunder is a remnant of what we used to be able to do his comedy now it Hass to go through so many filters. I’m glad there are still daring, producers and directors and actors who can still push the envelope.
When you can realize and accept that something is done without hate and ridicule, and realize it’s done with love, fun, and the spirit of entertainment…
Ben Stiller could push an artist potential to the max....
Tropic Thunder is the greatest comedy ever made.
Hell yea' .. It was so awesome... Ad should hav made a part2....
High praise Sir .
God that was an awesome movie
Wow that’s so nice of him to say this
Tropic thunder audio Commentary is the greatest reason to continue buying 📀 DVD movies.
If anyone has the clout to accurately compare someone to Charlie Chaplin, it's Robert Downey Jr.
This gives me a new respect for Ben Stiller.🥰
It's funny that you say that because RDJ played Charlie Chaplin in the 1992 biopic Chaplin.
This is the dude dressed as a dude disguised as another dude
You're in my world now, Grandma!
Check out the name tag.
The Cable Guy is criminally underrated and one of my favorites. A decade ahead if its time.
Tropic Thunder still one of my fav movies with Ben stiller
And tom cruise as ceo was the icing man that was hilarious
That's massive considering RDJ played Chaplin
The whole interview is epic & funny.
Tropic thunder forever my fave 🖤
They need to make a second one 😂😂 be great to see the over sensitive meltdowns 😂😂😂
Man... Stiller is awesome, his movies are great & funny. Tropic Thunder was just pure awesomeness. People who hate on it, just don't have a good sense of humor, when I was in the theater, all you could hear was laughter.
And hence why “Severance” is such an incredible show.
Seeing this after Severance absolutely holds true.
Stiller’s first direction was CABLE GUY and one could see how good he’d later become.
This was an amazing podcast. RDJ is an amazing person
A product of Stiller & Mirror.
Robert is a talented actor.I love him
severance was so good
I fuckin love Ben stiller.
tropic thunder was very well made, but I never gave ben stiller credit until severance. He is a genius
