Hopefully you will do some more videos on the stockpicking engine in SQX. As a long term user of SQX I have always stayed clear of stock trading and just focussed on indices, commodities etc however the stockpicking feature could open up new possibilities. It sounds good on paper but time will tell if its actually viable.
I have been using the beta version, and it is really smooth with Alpacca account, still not fully compatible with IB, but it is very promising, and of course it will open new strategies for our community

Did not update yet, but hope all bugs in Random groups / Custom blocks have been removed. That nerved me most in the old version. @@StatOasis

sqx 138 is out with Portfolio Master. how does it compare with SQ Analyzer and can it be replaced? please do a detailed video on it.

Thank you Ali! Are you able to make a living only trading algorithms? I’d like to know if that is a realistic goal.
Of course, a good algo trader make 20-40% per year on average. So that means you need cash flow for one year ahead, and then you need the capital where 20-40% (profits) of it is enough to live on.
So the problem is always capital, but if you start investing with long term portfolios go.statoasis.com/community then you will have enough capital
Did strategyquant X help find strategies for you or it's more just your ideas that could be coded anywhere. ie easylanguage etc
You can use SQX for idea generation, i do both as am already extremely familiar with breakout, trend following, mean reversion, seasonality but for beginners its a great resource
Hello, I have watched several of your videos over the weekend and decided to comment on this one since it is your most recent. When implementing your trading strategies in SQX are you holding out some of the data to see how it performs after optimization on the hold-out test set? I know that SQX offers the walk-forward matrix which can help address overfitting and result in a better generalized strategy. I feel this is an important element of your past videos that may be absent and lead to poor real world performance.
The strategies on the channel are not vetted for robustness.
Robustness is not IS/OOS or walkforward, it is a workflow of many steps.
In my algo trading masterclass go.statoasis.com/atm, i have one full module about robustness, which cant be squeezed in a 15 minutes video.
@@StatOasis thank you for your response. I often see this aspect overlooked (not relevant to the content in this video, but in past videos).
it is not overlooked but rather needs more time to delve into it. content like this does not gain views on my channel because it is very niche. So I will put more time and effort in a subject that require a series of videos, but get nothing out of it.
That is why the community and my course exist, so traders who want to take it to the next level they can get a detailed workflow on how to do it.
