something about the way Eda holds Hooty and King back from crowding Luz and Hunter at 3:44 is so important to me. She knows that they've just taken in world-shattering knowledge and makes that fact even more apparent when she gently offers her hand to Hunter during his panic attack and calmly telling him to breathe
Remembering all she knows of Hunter is all the times he betrayed Luz and company too, yet she's see's a kid having a panic attack and genuinely offers him a helping hand
Everybody who accused Camilla of being a shit parent, are now saying that both she and Eda are tied for best Disney Mom and I love it!
I mean with Camilla, her attitude towards Luz makes sense. She thought her daughter was going away to a camp, then gets many calls and e-mails saying Luz never arrived. A search is sent out, going on for weeks. Months pass, she only sees Luz to learn she chose to be trapped in another dimension. She doesn’t know if her daughter is coming home, and all this years after she’d lost her husband. The fate of two worlds is probably at stake, but she finally got Luz back.
@@garrettviewegh677 Regarding "Yesterday's Lie", what I liked is how even though Camila was saddened by Luz's choice to stay, she was more so mad at herself, feeling responsible for pushing her daughter away due to pressure from her school to make Luz "behave" as we later saw in "Thanks To Them". She felt that she had betrayed her own daughter and genuinely wanted to make things right, and we saw her do just that in "Thanks To Them". If anything Camila may have been flawed, but she basically raised the bar on cartoon parents cause she did the one thing that most cartoon parents are absolutely alergic to doing. Genuinely holding themselves accountable for their mistakes towards their offspring.

@@garrettviewegh677did you make that stuff up? Camila never knew Luz was missing. Vee took her place. Camila herself took Vee to the camp, got letters from her and lived with her after the camp ended. No search party was sent after Luz since from POV of any person on human realm, she was never missing. Camila only realised that in Yesterday's Lie, even then she wouldn't search for Luz because she knew where Luz was and it would have been pointless since it's another universe and Luz chose to stay there.
"I am your mother. You will obey me and die" that line killed me.
P.S also that sounds like something another mom would say. If you get what I'm talking about you have a friend for life.
That line brought me to tears! Eda acts just like my mom (she says goofy stuff like that when my siblings & I annoy her, so we usually do it on purpose 😂).
The other thing that killed me was “You’re not our mom!” *5 minutes later* “Bye mommy Eda!” 😂😂😂

I relate to Eda so much. I knew a guy from a job I had. His parents were borderline abusive. I, along with a few others, really looked out for him. I taught him how to change tires. Change oil. All the "dad" sort of stuff. He even jokingly called me "dad" a few times. Meanwhile, his "legal guardians" were taking funds out of his bank account.
I was a rampant alcoholic, stoner, drug dealer, and borderline scam artist for the longest time. Then I met someone I didn't wish the same as me.
I've been sitting on this comment for a good several minutes just rereading it and trying to think of an equally good response. I wasn't expecting someone to leave a comment like this on one of my videos, it honestly hit me hard.
I sincerely hope you and your friend are in a better place now and are living a happy and healthy life. I'm proud of you for getting better. Stay strong ❤️

Eda sure has come along way since meeting Luz. From being the most wanted criminal in the boiling isles to a mother like figure to king and a second mom to Luz. Brings tears to my eyes on how much love can change ones life, and eda got to experience it during a time when she needed it.

When all world ending threats of the show are taken care of, I can easily see Eda becoming the “fun aunt” that visits Luz every now and then.
Eda has soothed my parental issues so much lol.
Because yes although she becomes more motherly as the series goes on, you can tell from the start how good she naturally is with kids already. She's gentle and patient with Luz and her friends when they mess up or cause problems. She *never* gets angry at them or lashes out when they make a mistake that does damage. ex; She isn't even remotely angry or upset with Luz when she's caught by Lilith and instead is just trying to get her to safety, she doesn't hold a grudge against Hunter when he comes out of Belos's hold, in fact she immediately tries to bring him comfort when he's panicking. She understands that kids are kids and they make mistakes that they can learn from. Eda is the best 💜

I always find it sweet how Eda is so concerned about keeping her kids safe from what they're going through. I always had to be the protector against Michael (my father) when I was younger, I turned his attention towards me so no one else got hurt. So seeing an adult like Eda being so concerned for the well being of her children touches my heart. Definitely would have liked to have a parental figure like Eda growing up.
