Thanks same here. I still have the cover on a shelf. The dash cracked even worse when fitting the cover. For some it works I have a cover in my 2000 tahoe limited. For this truck the dash was to far gone as well.
Thanks! Selling one means you will get to do it all over again later in life. Trust me I thought i was done with lowriders 20 years ago. I guess I was wrong
@@thisoldhooptie Wait wait wait lol …so.. your seats they are known on the 88-94 to be nearly impossible to separate the fabric from the foam core only 88-94s It’s heat glued from the factory. How did you get that fabric black? Was it a replacement upholstery was it a kit .. or just sprayed with fabric spray paint
@Chevro91 fabric spray paint from duplicolor. My seats had cigarette burns and busted springs. I eventually ordered a new set of seats that have lumbar support and a console. There are videos on both in my trucks playlist.
My stuff is half original old stuff and half from ebay. I would hit up Jeremy at Cunninghammachine.com they have started making most obs billet parts for interiors. cunninghammachine.com/chevy-and-gmc/obs-1988-1998/
Click on the links in my video description then when on the lmc truck website put in your truck brand year make model when asked. Then if not brought to the dash page select interior parts and follow the prompts to the dash section. Right in the middle of that page you have 2 choices 88 to 91 and 92 to 94.
@@thisoldhooptie I will check LMC! Just inherited the truck and needs a little work. I’m in Deep South Texas so everything at the junk yard was sun bathed and cracked lol
You and me both brother👍. My 2000 tahoe dash sucks and the only option I have found is to pull one from a junk yard. Problem is they have a 50 50 chance of cracking during removal. I think I'm going to fiberglass my busted one end of this year when I have more time. Unless we get lucky and lmc truck starts making them. I can't justify paying 400 or more for a used one on the market place, and I have no good junk yards within a couple hours drive. On a side note if just the top is starting to crack the dash skins work great to hide and hold together in the mean time. I have one in my tahoe pretty happy except the front is cracking now too.
The door panels are coverlay. If you check my truck playlist go back a bit and you will see a door panel video. The link in the description and a bunch in the comment section. Good luck with your project 👍
They all fit, some better than others. In my opinion, the newer Chevy truck seats are too big. If you like them, you will need to buy obs brackets or make some if you can weld. Search youtube for obs chevy truck seat brackets. You will find what you want. On my next project I think I'm going with sport car seats they give a bit more leg room and are fully electric. Good luck with whatever ever you choose 👍
would you happen to know if I could do a swap with a newer year? I have a 1992 Chevy Silverado single cab I would really like a newer look. Any suggestions would be great thank you and I appreciate your video.
You would need to swap the items behind the dash along with the door panels and some plastics to do what you are asking. It can be done it is a bit of a job though. The best way would be to buy a full interior from a junk yard or get a doner truck from facebook marketplace with a bad engine. Then you could be sure to have a parts on hand for the swap.
Hey, I have a 1998 Chevy 1500 SC SB. The dash is crap and I want a new one. I seen that LMC does the 88-94. If I take out my 1998 dash and replace it with the 1994 will work easy ?? Or will I have to put a bunch of work into making it fit ??? Thanks
The dash size wise would fit. What would not is, the gauges, all the ac parts, and all the wire runs. It not a plug and play swap without a donor older year truck and then still have to mess with things like speedometerand guages to work with your new engine. Better to get one of the same year block from a junk yard pull that and swap it. You can get a dash skin in the mean time if the dash is not totally destroyed.
I have a question I have a 1988 Chevy pick up I’m trying to restore do they make the whole dash itself the panels the dash the whole complete - as itself can you order it like that or do they only sell pieces of the dash
The dash is made up of a bunch of pieces. The large piece which you can see in my lmc dash video has a link for it in the description. Make sure you order the correct dash for your year there are 2 models mine is the 92 to 94 you need to other one. The panels or cover pieces like the gauge surround, the gauge bumper etc can be found on lmc truck, junk yards, and Ebay. There are also a couple of parts dealers on Instagram. If you use Facebook join a few of the obs truck groups. There are parts for sale all the time in the groups and in the Facebook marketplace.
The link is in the description to this video. When you get on the page look for part number 39-2440-GR that's for 88 to 91 the second choice is for the 92 to 94 they are slightly different.
Look in this comment section some links in the nonameisthename thread. Try eBay, and Amazon with the search term c1500 billet dash. Some like the dash gauges are no longer made. Thank you. The dash came out fantastic. This truck will have a galaxy theme picked out by my little girl. The dash has a color changing paint job which will extend to the some of the exterior along with a mural on the tailgate. The interior is 90 percent complete now those colors will be used throughout the truck. Have a look in the truck playlist.
As well as I have some questions I would like to get in to contact with you im new to owning a c1500 obs and I would say I'm in a real bad pickle with the dash.

There is a link in my description for this video for the dash go there and see if they have the parts you need. Each piece is separate. You can also grab those smaller pieces from Facebook market place or a local junk yard for cheaper if you have a seller near by.

I'm keeping them to go into the next obs I pickup which will probly have horrible seats. For now they are being used as a sofa in the garage. If your in Florida there is a guy in Palm bay that has seats for a few hundred in good condition almost weekly. There is also a junk yard in Fort pierce has 5 obs trucks last time I was there all had seats. Thats the cheapest option.
@@thisoldhooptie yes sir no problem I'm in Texas we have flocks of them laying on junk yards just need to go grab them, I have the captain chairs out of a 93 suburban with the fold down arm rest on both side but I removed the inside arm rest and have a custom center console and sub box in the middle just kinda thought about going with a bench seat.

The dash was shatterd across the whole top with cracks in the front around vents and the glove box. Yes we love the concrete planter borders. I've had them for 7 years now zero issues. With the current market should be a great business. I update my projects on IG prior to youtube if your interested. @ejaffeprojects
I like your style. 👍 It has a forever sharpe billet one now. And after the ls swap ill either be making a guage set or going with the Dakota ones in blue. Depends how close the cost of buying vs making ends up.
The 88 has a a couple differences then the 94. If your asking about the one from lmc truck you need the lower one on this link made for 92 to 94. See this link it shows the difference behind the gauge setup. They look the same but the guage plugs are different. www.lmctruck.com/1988-98-chevy-gmc/cd-1988-94-dash-panel-assembly
Yeah I grew up messing with the electronics and hydrolic setups in these and s10s. I always liked the clean body lines when all the badges and extra plastic molding are removed. The square body's are nice too. I also like the early 1950s chevys with the thick bumper and grills. But for me the 88 to 99 always caught my eye. I plan to swap the engine too. Not sure yet if I'm going with a 383 or ls 5.3. Ill figure that out after I finish paint and body work.
@@gerardolopez5875 not sure how I missed this comment. Growing up I had a few friends that were into lowriders and I was into programming and electronics. They let me play with their trucks and cars and I guess got free work done at first. Eventually I made side money wiring up a few 16 switch hydro setups along with stereos and neon installs. I have always loved electronics. I worked in parking lots and in front of my house didn't even have a garage much less a shop. Its hard to believe that was 30 years ago. Good times.
Agreed. I have a 2000 tahoe limited which needs a dash. I have the coverlay plastic cover on that truck and look forward to swapping that out next year.
I don't really trust aftermarket autoparts websites for interior because I'm afraid it won't look like the original colors of 88-98 chevy interiors, but I've been checking out the website you left on the description and I feel like I can trust it, the carpet just seems like the original oem chevy, have you ordered more parts from that website??
I have the carpet, the dash, the dash speaker covers, the front panels, the carpet too for my tahoe, the door panels. Mine are black so I have painted them all. If you use Sem or Duplicolor spray paint it matches. All depends on what your looking to do. Im happy with everything I purchased from lmc, coverlay, and the carpet place.
@@thisoldhooptie and it all looks original oem! Might order my carpet and some parts from there soon, I want my interior all red like the 90s 454ss, great video and I'm glad you put the link in there!👍🏼
@@hectoramezquita2004 The carpet was perfect match. I got the extra heavy vinyl underlayer for heat and sound deadening. I have the full black setup in my tahoe. The dash came in only grey, I would go with the SEM brand paint for the red. Search you tube, a few people have done the same. If you want to test grab a piece of plastic and a spray can shoot that then put next to your panels. Keep in mind if your interior is faded its not going to be perfect since the newly painted will look new. I took my whole interior out and painted it so it all matches. But thats for black. A test piece is the way to start. Good luck 👍

Would it still be possible that despite that gauge area difference could it still fit in my 1994 Chevy? Or would I just have to change/modify that gauge area itself? Thanks again Ps I am asking this is because they are out of stock and I have having trouble finding one new.
Yes the dash as a whole will fit in the 94. You would need to figure out a way to hold down the snap in for the 94 guages. They clip in to the 94 dash then press fit into the 94 gauges. If your making your own gauges or buying aftermarket then you should be good to go.
Hey bro in case you have not read my comments on other videos. In the comments of my dash painting video there is a guy named Rocker pat, he also has a youtube channel. He purchased the dash you asked about and is going to do a video on converting the 88 to 91 from lmc to fit his 92 to 94 obs. Hope it helps.

If you mean the original ones I dyed them with duplicolor vinyl and fabric dye. If you mean the new ones they are from shop4seats.com. check my playlist both have videos with links in the description for the items purchased.
@@thisoldhooptie do you want to sell your old ones? The dyed black ones?
@@hooksetkeith5812 benches are great like a couch in the truck, after a while you do miss that arm rest though. Good luck with the project 👍
I’ve done numerous things on these OBS trucks. Now…this may be out of my league. Any suggestions?
Nothing to be afraid of its just bolts and plugs. I have a video on the full removal and the reverse is the installing. Its a weekend project for sure so you can take your time labeling wire plugs and bagging your screws. Check my playlist for dash removal see if that helps.
@@thisoldhooptie I appreciate your help. I’m getting on it now. Wish me luck lol
@@AMXZ28 sounds like a fun weekend, good luck 👍
Thos weekend I will be working on the pinion seal and rear gasket for the differential. Have a great weekend
Does this dash work on a 97?
Unfortunately no. There are 2 models 88 to 91 and 92 to 94. For 95 and up its either a coverlay type dashskin or a junk yard replacement unless you can fiberglass and fix the original.
@@thisoldhooptie thanks
Do they make that for a 1999
No, not yet. I'm waiting too. I need one for my tahoe.
I love my OBS. Why are you changing dash out it looked in good shape ...
....off topic I see you had landscspe "curb" installed. That's what I do for a living here in Houston. (Texas Curb n Borders) Anyway I subscribed and will check your channel out. I spend more time on IG and FB than UA-cam these days.
The dash was shatterd across the whole top with cracks in the front around vents and the glove box. Yes we love the concrete planter borders. I've had them for 7 years now zero issues. With the current market should be a great business. I update my projects on IG prior to youtube if your interested. @ejaffeprojects
Needs dakota digital gauges...😎👊🏻..also a billet Specialties steering wheel.
I like your style. 👍
It has a forever sharpe billet one now. And after the ls swap ill either be making a guage set or going with the Dakota ones in blue. Depends how close the cost of buying vs making ends up.
I just ordered mine, im thinking about tohydro dipping mine...
That should come out pretty cool!
Will the obs ‘88 dash work with my Chevy obs ‘94? They seem the same but I want your opinions before I buy :-), thank you in advanced.
The 88 has a a couple differences then the 94. If your asking about the one from lmc truck you need the lower one on this link made for 92 to 94.
See this link it shows the difference behind the gauge setup. They look the same but the guage plugs are different.

@@gerardolopez5875 I paid $450 shipped for the 92 to 94 dash
Thanks. These OBS Chevys are my favorite of all the older trucks and cars.
Good times.
About time now they need to make the 99 Tahoe dashes
Agreed. I have a 2000 tahoe limited which needs a dash. I have the coverlay plastic cover on that truck and look forward to swapping that out next year.
Are your old seats for sale?
No, they are eventually going into another project.
Everything does look real nice. But where did you get the billet pieces from?
Most can still be purchased on Ebay. I will check the other comments and add the link here in the am.

Good luck 👍
@@hectoramezquita2004 Hey bro, almost forgot, you do have to trim the carpet to make it fit other then that its a very simple install. I watched a couple youtube videos then was ready to rock.
@@thisoldhooptie yeah i get what you're saying, it has to be presice
Man I wish they would make it for 98
Same here, my tahoe could really use one. I have a dashskinz cover for now. With the popularity of these trucks its only a matter of time.
Sadly still waiting for the 95-99
Aren't we all. The dash in my tahoe is soooo bad. I kind of want to reverse swap it to the square dash. Who knows 🤷♂️
@@thisoldhooptie I'll probly fake it with a Dashskin. They don't look half bad, but still.
@shrugger1 That's what I did before I ordered the lmc dash. It actually looks good as long as the cracks are only on the top. Mine started cracking on the front, pretty bad, so it was time to go. Good luck with your project 👍
Do you want to sell the old dash
The old one was broken beyond repair and thrown away.
I am just curious. How much is the total price of the dash with shipping ect...Sweet truck you have there.
Thanks!
The dash, speaker grills, shipping and handling charge came to $507.10
What web side so i cant buy 1991 chevy pickup

Will the obs ‘88 dash work with my Chevy obs ‘94? They seem the same but I want your opinions before I buy :-), thank you in advanced.
The 88 has a a couple differences then the 94. If your asking about the one from lmc truck you need the lower one on this link made for 92 to 94.
See this link it shows the difference behind the gauge setup. They look the same but the guage plugs are different.
www.lmctruck.com/1988-98-chevy-gmc/cd-1988-94-dash-panel-assembly
Would it still be possible that despite that gauge area difference could it still fit in my 1994 Chevy? Or would I just have to change/modify that gauge area itself? Thanks again
Ps I am asking this is because they are out of stock and I have having trouble finding one new.
