Im here on New Year’s Eve 2023 (my interface has just died this afternoon) having just had my mind blown by what these guys are doing! Truly pioneering, revolutionary stuff! Wonderful,y informative and a great introduction to the rabbit hole! Thank you very much Anderson’s and Cranborne Audio!
Great informative interview. Not only do I love the product, I’m starting to really admire the people & the philosophy who make the product. This thing is going to off! I’m so pumped.
Love the Andertons TV Interviews, both Jack and Lee are great interviewers. A combination of informed yet interested questioners, who are prepared to listen to what their guests have to say. Way more than you would expect from a music shop driven channel! Well done to all of you.
The last video you did with Cranborne really inspired me to look up the R8 & the 500 series modules, I want one so bad now. I feel this would really help bring music production & coloring sound to the next level in a simple home studio setup
These guys are the best kind of nerds. I was an engineer before health issues, and aside from the money I mostly miss learning random tidbits of gold from super smart people such as these gentleman every day. Wonderful video as always, Jack.
Wow, thanks for this interview. I only discovered CA a few days ago and love what they're doing. About to kit out a new recording studio and was going to go RME/Grace Design, but this video has finally persuaded me to instead go down the CA route. Thanks Sean for your explanations about even basic stuff - I've just learned about 4 totally new things I never knew/understood in just this short interview.
CA love you guys! You are amazing talented and passionate ppl. 💯 Great team! You deserve to be on 🔝 Keep pushing 🔥 Can't wait for the new gear 😁 Glad Andertons made this interview 👏
Fair balls Jack you absolutely nailed this from start to finish, not just the interview but finding and caring about the product and successfully communicating through a swamp of complexity why we should care. I'd love to see a getting started with the R8 for a home producer video. Just to see the landscape of whats needed, the cost, what level of experience and understanding is appropriate, and how it nets out to the music at the end of it all. Would love to see the same for live music and a few other usecases too actually. Anyway bravo to Cranborne and Andertons!
@@jackduxburymusic Yeah man I really meant it, you have a big and loyal following for a number of reasons and I hope you're aware of that. Mainly because you have the craic and a bit of banter and don't take it all so seriously. But also you know your shit and you know how to explain it. If I see you're in a video then I'm watching it, and there's plenty more like me out there. Appreciate what you're doing man I know it's not easy
Darn. I really liked feeling like a cool kid who had the in with the good stuff. Damn Cranborne had to be good business people and engage in marketing so everyone can become aware that they have the superior products
Hello. Can I use the 500R8 only as adat? I mean, without using de interface or connecting the usb cable. I want to expand my apollo twin interface and still using it as the brain, but also i want the flexibility of the 500r8 because i can take it everywhere without using another interface.
I believe the answer is no. I reached out to them regarding a similar question. My question was could I use the 500R8 as an ADAT expander if I later upgraded to a high end interface like RME. They said no. That’s why they made 2 units. I didn’t want to lock into a USB interface without options if I later wanted to use TB. Hope this helps. They answer emails fast and are super friendly.
After watching this, I ask my self, why bother with a big console. It's not needed. All one needs is three of these racks and a patch bay and a Universal audio interface for some in the box recording. This is great
That’s exactly what I thought, and that’s why I got the 500 R8. And you know what? Why stop there? You won’t even need the Universal Audio interface. The R8 ad/da converters are that good (reference grade).
I have 2 Apollo 8xp interfaces AMD they have ADAT. What is the difference between your 500 series box wot ADAT and a regular lunch box? If I connect my Apollo to a regular lunch box I would be using the 8 ports on my Apollo. I assume your 500 box has an AD/DA for each channel do it has 8 AD/DA convertors built in and when I connect it to my Apollo I get 8 inputs and outputs without using the ins and outs ony Appolo correct?
Hi Jack, Hope you are well. I had a question, when it comes to polyphony on digital Pianos. For an Adult Learner, will polyphony ever become an issue with regards to classical pieces; just pianos. Thanks
Hi Kevin, thanks so much for watching and for the question mate. I’d say 64 notes on a Piano is the minimum and 99% of the time you’ll never know about the other notes unless doing a lot of extended “pedal down” passages. Perhaps a complex and sustained bit Debussy may call for more than 64 concurrent notes to be sounding at once but when you start thinking about it like that you realise 64 is plenty for most classical piano pieces. Polyphony also really matters if and when layering sounds so that’s why you’ll see the polyphony jump up for more expensive models that feature more layering and combining options. Hope that helps fine Sir. All the best Xx
@@jackduxburymusic wow. thank you for the amazing explanation jack. Love your videos. Love your energy and the love you have for all keyboards and Pianos that come your way.
Just discovered Cranborne today. I don’t understand why they’ve included monitoring in their Camden. I’d much rather have just the preamp sections. Just me?

Yes, it's oddly unique preamp. I'm falling in love with my new brand Camden EC1. Please, next big step, the EQ desktop version!

Anyone got any tips on a good mastering Chanel strip for 500 series
