the work that was put is unimaginable. command blocks can be really hard to use and they get messy easily, especially in datapacks. the fact that you put in the grind, modeled everything and added all mechanics is mind blowing. great job!

Got to give credit where credit is due. This was extremely cool to watch. Amazing work and great job on accuracy to the source material. I honestly didn't expect the falling platforms as I thought it would be so insignificant. Seriously though, wonderful work. Would love to see more behind the scenes not gonna lie.

4:00 the official sonic map *kinda* has loops, but they don’t work very well. On top of that, the loops on my save file stopped working entirely after like 10 runs
Yeah i found this out after the fact, I got the idea of it not having loops because while editing i was in a vc with someone who owned and played it and they said they didnt think there was any
Sonic was such a major part of my childhood and I still adore the franchise, insane work C1OUS3R! Hope to see more of this!

I think it's pretty insane that you've managed to turn Minecraft into an engine for a 2.5 Sonic game. Since the MD/Genesis Sonic games had a unique physics-based gameplay style, it's pretty damn impressive that you'd manage to decently emulate those physics in a game like Minecraft, while still maintaining a sidescrolling view for the project. Excellent work, sir. You truly are an absolute GENIUS at Minecraft. I subscribed.

This is very impressive, its equivalent to very early Sonic The Hedgehog fan games in the late 90's and early 2000's but I have question. What stops the model from moving in full 360° movement using trigonometry like in the original Sonic The Hedgehog games?
It would be possible with mods, however i used the base game meaning i was forced to use a datapack which is limited to ingame commands, there is no sort of command that lets us do anything like that, we are limited to what mojang gives us
@@C1OUS3R and in blockbench rotati g stuff is limited to 22.5° for anything that isnt just a generic .obj model
@@Damian-cilr2 thats only when making the model, you have full ability to rotate the model on any axis at any degree when changing how it appears on the players head. which was the method i used for this

4:10 I remember there being loops in the Sonic DLC, I've been playing it for quite a while
here's a game you probably never heard of but i would enjoy seeing a minecraft remake of it, but you should try remaking the 1983 arcade game mappy. it's a game where you play as a police mouse and need to collect all the items to win while avoiding cats. there are trampolines and doors. it's not very popular, but it's really fun.

@@C1OUS3R I kinda got the idea while consuming OP crafted speed potions and was thinking maybe use the transparent block to force users down a certain route/line, Note collecting blue spheres does drive you insane eventually as it speeds up so watch it does not break your brain 🙂
