Scholar and activist Dr. Hala Al-Dosari, a former fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study and the Washington Post, says, "The younger generation are more of a global generation, more of engaged and connected... There is more acceptance of women's rights and men's rights, of human rights in general. They are more educated than the previous generation...There is a shift in their identity." However, Saudi Arabia's absolute monarchy "is not conductive to any real change."
