It's good to know there are working ones. I wonder if there are 'batches' that have slight internal differences. Mine is just awful, with a too long return spring and so many tolerance issues it just doesn't cycle properly. 🤷
@@extramile3382 the Galaxy comes with a gen 5 Glock mag. The gas routers are different to other Glock (gen3/4) mags and those mags don't work particularly well if at all in the galaxy.
@@MrLilredmachine Thanks mate. I know this is the new gas route introduce by WE / AW custom on their latest VX Glock with RMR cut slide. The mag gas route has exact gas pattern as yours and the AW custom VX glock also performs shitty with other mag. But in KYairsoft.com, they sell this spesific gas route if we want to modify our other glock mag gas route which will not be my chosen path.
There goes all the plans I had for this gun. I was seriously considering getting 2 eventually and turning one into a "carbine", but now it looks like I'll have to bury the plan six feet under. Comparing WE to Icarus would be a disservice to the latter because at least the guy was able to get off the ground. XD Great review. Appreciate the honesty. But I don't think that hop up alone can even be salvaged in the first place. Why WE didn't opt for a TDC hop system on a fixed slide pistol is beyond me.
The hop up is the main issue, it would be possible to massage the nozzle and spring to get it to fire more than 5 shots on a fresh mag, but the hop up is a non starter. It adjusts poorly and doesn't hold it's zero at all. Even when it does, the consistency is terrible. To make a fixed barrel weapon look this bad is an incredible achievement. The review was a bit of a bust, but it was worth doing to try to prevent people from dropping decent money on a boat anchor of a weapon.

Honestly the design is there, mine has worked so far. I'd shelf it for now and wait for aftermarket. Hell maybe in another 2-5 months I wouldn't be surprised if some of the 3d printing stores have some parts ready for it
I actually love the overall design, you can tell that from my unboxing video. It feels so much nicer than the AAP-01 as well, but then at the money it is compared I kinda hoped it would. I just think that if you are designing something entirely proprietary it really needs to work and work well for everyone, and that's not a strong point of WE as a brand - they have too many lemons that require rebuilding/refinishing out of the box.

I've also been wanting to get a decent gbb rifle or SMG, but being in America we have certain laws that prevents most of the good stuff from coming or it's bought out too fast to make an educated final decision. Leaving most WE stuff to sit there and stare back at you saying, "Come on, you know you want to."

@@the-sarge84 honestly was hoping the same. It kind of punts home the point that maybe a metal AAP-01 is better accomplished by buying an AAP-01 and fittimg a metal slide. Like I was saying in the vid, throwing 70 quid at one makes an incredible pistol, something the WE will never be.
have mine, though it does have a bit of a sticky bolt. same thing happened with my marui 18c slide though, until i broke it in. consider that's something that might be necessary? the stock hop rubber is pretty good, can always, but the system does suck. cnc rotary/tdc hop conversions are on the market now, pretty decent. of course, on the scale that you paid £140+ for it, that's subpar. i only spent ~$90 on mine, and it simply just runs. best of luck.
Hey there. If you watch the 'redemption' video I did of the Galaxy, you will see why it didn't run, and why it never would have unless I broke it in manually. I ended up fixing it and selling it at a reduced price to a viewer who wanted a go with one. The problem with the Galaxy is that SOME are okay and others are not. The quality control is pretty terrible on them, and that is something that runs true with most of WE's guns.
i can confirm, my gun hase the same issues. it doesn't fire properly and the spring is to weak and the hop up screw unscrews when u shoot the gun so every match u have to change the hop up back to its origanal state. (sorry for my bad english) they have actualy made a new hop up that u can buy for as an upgrade but it is so expensive that u are better of selling your gun
Sanding the nozzle is a possibility absolutely, primary issue is the return spring, which is an extension spring, not a compression spring like in a conventional GBB pistol so preloading wont work. Thanks very much for the suggestions though!

It's most likely the faux ejector that pulls back the nozzle cos the spring is shite. Hadron designs Airsoft has a 300% stiffer nozzle spring for these now, I heavily suggest purchasing one, it should get it up and running. Apart from that, if it is the faux ejector arm, the only place I know where you can get one at the moment is KY Airsoft.
Yeah, it's a bit of a trainwreck. I don't know if it's fixed at all yet, or whether WE is still punting it out with numerous failure points. Knowing WE... well it's not a hopeful situation is it? Haha.
Weird. Never had a problem with mine either. Lifts .30 BB's like laser 40m plus. Never tested for range. The hop screw sucks though. Sorry yours is knackered. Must be infuriating.

Not that I know of unfortunately. Some seem to be good, others need work out the box. If you know what you are doing, it's worth a shot. Are you based in the uk?

@@clockwork6966 60 quid plus postage (probably a tenner at the most, maybe less) so at the most half price over buying one brand new. I'll pull it out, go through it with lube and make sure it's all ship shape before sending it out. The repairs I had to make shouldn't affect longevity (it's got 150 shots through it at the most) and it's guaranteed to work which is more than you'll get buying a brand new gold one. Up to you though. ;)
I never get why manufacturers try to reinvent the wheel. Most hops are a tried and tested design, going off the rails and designing something new and shite seems to be cutting the nose off to spite the face. haha. To be honest it's why I tend to avoid expensive airsoft, finding them to be shite is... upsetting.

Hello Chris, have you tried compatibility with other Glock mags? It looks likr the gas router of this Galaxy is different then the normal glock..

I suggest getting the TTI upgraded hop up for the g series, it makes the fun work WAY better and is easy asf to install

we have the same problem on the same gun but i fixed it by putting car oil on it i know its dumb but it works fine now

And put some hardstop at the end of your nozzle spring

That’s must just me an issue with your because I just bought one a few days ago and have had no issue with it and I’ve ran two full drum mags threw it

Played with one 2 weeks ago. Was so underwhelmed. I love the style of the ruger MK4 but like the browning I'm rather annoyed they dont work :(

Think that hop up is bad, you should see the bag of shit in my ares m14ebr and that was a 550 quid gun
