  • This video covers 14 preps that I would buy again. Some of them are cheap enough to have one for each kit while others are things I would want to replace ASAP if something happens to them.

I have a few Cold Steel knives that I purchased years ago when they were around $100 each. Now, they are much more, if you can find them. I have used these many times, including in the Yukon, on projects. They have been superb knives for everyday use. I recommend them as an addition for your Survival kit.

I try to have non-electric preps as well as solar re-chargeable preps for times when the local power grid is down. One of my favorite non-electric preps is the Sun Oven brand solar oven. It is the outdoor equivalent of a slow cooker and recipes for the quart size slow cookers work with a solar oven. All you need to use the solar oven is a covered casserole dish, a sunny day and a safe outdoor space to do what is smokeless and low-odor cooking or water pasteurizing. Here in southern Nevada, there are very few days when we could not use our solar oven.
Another favorite grid-down prep in a 200-watt mini rice cooker that can run off one charge of the smallest Jackery power bank. Being able to cook raw rice or dry lentils indoors when the power grid is down is a thrifty way to keep fed during a prolonged power outage and saves on the use of propane or butane portable stoves. I bought my Dash brand, two-cup capacity, mini rice cooker on Amazon.

We have recently bought the Ecoflow Delta 2, and the Ecoflow River 2 so we can use 1 while the other is charging. We also bought the Blazin Bolt, and the Coast eal22 rechargeable lanterns for a total of 1600 lumens. We have power, food, light, 4 gas generators, now it's time to concentrate on water.

We just bought a Makita Lantern/digital radio/USB out thingy which should be useful during any power outages or the bushfire season for keeping track of what's going on if/when the phones or internet take a dump.
Something I bought a while back that may be a bit useful if you needed to move water around is a drill powered pump.
Not sure if it's any good for potable water.
Have you ever looked at Diesel heaters at all?
All the rage for vans, caravans etc etc and diesel is a pretty cheap fuel source.
You would also need a 12v power source but they look very cheap and people I've seen love them.
    Just a thought.
    Thanks for the video.
Have a safe and happy Christmas.

      @@diypreppertv No worries.
I'm pretty sure that they're used over there as well as I've seen some of your camping channels who have made up portable truck heaters with them and I'm fairly sure that your RV's would use them as well.
You can buy them as a cheapish kit sort of a deal although when I Googled them here they also come as a stand alone unit that looks to be really good quality.
Look like an excellent option for your shed tbh.
      Cheers.
