Thank you JR for your survival series. Every day on the Street is a survival problem. Practice being tactical. And practice at the range, every chance you get.
I have a number of faraday pouches, so I can store all my electronics such as my shortwave radio, laptop, solar panel, phone, etc. As an amatuer astronomer I know that there is a risk of another carrington event - it might not happen for another 100 years , it might happen tomorrow. No way of knowing. My laptop is full of pdf files with all the information I will need in a crisis, all my top albums and films, the best games, etc. There might not be any network or power after a disaster, but my solar charger will run my laptop fine. Very important to have first aid manuals, diy guides, etc. Having some Iron Maiden to listen to will be handy as well!
What do you do to protect your solar generator..im sure that won't fit into the bags
The "Faraday" bags aren't rated for emp protection. The people who sell them claiming that they protect your devices from electronic interference don't mention that it doesn't include a massive Electromagnetic Pulse
You would be better off making your own Faraday box using a conductive metal such as aluminum and a non-conductive cardboard box with a lid like a shoe box.
You wrap your aluminum foil around the box, and make a lip with the edge of the foil inside of the box. You can then secure the edges of the box with aluminum tape (dont use electrical tape ironically it is non conductive) then do the same with the lid.
When you close the lid the lip you made with the foil will make a complete surface area coverage with aluminum so any electric energy will conduct through the metal and be deflected to the surrounding outside area. Keeping your items safe.
It's important to make sure that the foil doesn't get damaged because if there is any break in the shield the energy will leak in and be amplified in the area where the leak is.
I hope this helps someone.
@@sharriceowens913 it's most likely a solar powered portable battery bank

Glad you covered these just-in-case items.
Thanks for watching!
Potassium Iodide. I order mine from Life Extension.
Good information. I especially liked the armored backpack & t- shirt. Thanks for making such detailed videos. Merry Christmas from NW Florida!
Thank you Brenda!
Thank you, JR! I hope I never have to use any of this. Be prepared people.
Thanks, J.R.! I have had the GMC-300 Geiger Counter for a couple of years and can attest to its reliability and versatility.
Now I need a couple of those ballistic T shirts. Merry Christmas to you and yours!!
Thank you Karl!
Thank you
One year at thanksgiving with all the family around I ran an experiment. I wrapped my cell phone in aluminum foil to see if it could be isolated for cell phone signal. It took 3 layers but yes it would not receive signal after that. So its safe to say that yes foil actually works as a faraday cage.
But after an EMP what would you need a cell phone for anyway? The communications would all be down. I worked in outside Telco for 13 years till the wu flu and trust me with an EMP the communications nation wide will be gone. In fact with no power they will shut down across the nation in about 4 hours. That how long the back up systems are charged for. 4 hours only.
"..lots of poop jokes...
Now that's a selling point! 😅
I'm trying to convince the Wife we need to get some body armor as well as gas masks.
We do have the cheap tags that show how much radiation you're being exposed to.
Were you referring to a city hmmm let’s say like… Chicago?
Great vid as always. God Bless you and yours.
Surely not…lol. Thanks for watching!
Actually my edc for past 6 years includes an armored backpack as well as tourniquiet and within past 3 years includes a CBRN mask and suit including rad pills ...turns out the least wanted to carry are the most that are needed......most recent edc item is sat phone which you left off
What, wait did you say church security 🤔
It is very common in southeast USA for Church's to have a security team. Security covers any type of emergency.
4:50 I have so many questions…. Your church’s security team?
It's very common in southeast USA for Church's to have security teams. Security covers any type of emergency. After hurricanes, if church has major damage then security team steps in to secure the building/property and protect should it be needed.
Ours has one also. After the Emmanuel Nine shooting, most churches in our area developed them with the help of law enforcement.
🤔👍👍
Gd vd
Thank you Stephen!
