  • Need to freeze a frame or a part of your video because your narration is longer than your screen recording?
    With Camtasia's "Extend Frame" option you can stop your video on one moment, and turn it into a still picture while your audio continues so the two are better aligned where you need them to be.

    I've always done it via the 'right-click' option and guessed on the extended length. Using ALT is sooo much better! THANK you!

    I use this trick all the time since I always seem to underestimate how slow I need to go in the screen recording to match the planned dialog. Very useful tip.

    Love it! I've always exported the frame, then imported it and pasted it in. This is much easier!

    How have I missed this 😮, the times I have needed a freeze frame and instead taken a frame shot then added it in as a track.
    Such a simple tip but a God send 😁👍

    The Mac and windows thing was a bit confusing. Maybe make two separate videos (one for each platform) with more examples? Thanks.

      Sorry for the confusion, August, hopefully you were able to catch the difference! Basically the right-click option is only available on Windows right now.

    Hi,
    It was a great video! My niece has started using this recently, and she is loving it so far. I think she is also using it for her videos, but she doesn’t understand all the features of this tool. I am sure this video will be a great help for her. I understood the process perfectly, and I am sure it will be easier for her to understand it too. Thanks a lot for sharing this amazing video, it really was a very helpful watch and I will definitely share this within my list.

    Thanks for sharing. I needed to rewind the video to catch what key you used on the Mac version. Perhaps you could use notation in the video to highlight what keys you used on each occasion (not just mentioning it in the video). Keep up the good work!

    What if you want to freeze a frame that is not the last frame of the clip? Why isn't that mentioned in this tutorial?

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  Рік тому

      You can split your clip, ("S" on Windows "CMD+T" on Mac) move the clips so there is room between them, then do the Extend Frame function to fill whatever gap of time you'd like.

    I use Camtasia for our business (5,000+ employees) and I'm the guy who recommends software. We upgraded Camtasia once, but we won't upgrade again because Techsmith is so stingy with their customer support. Unless you pay for a very expensive "maintenance" package, they don't give you the time of day.

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  2 роки тому

      For such a large organization, Maintenance would be hugely beneficial. Next years upgrade is free (and future years upgrades you'd only have to pay the Maintenance cost, instead of the upgrade cost) as well as one master key for all your employee licenses, volume discounts and extended version support. Individual purchases through our site now ALL include Maintenance.
      We reply to anyone and everyone via customer support, but we have a busy team and millions of customers, so sometimes our team gets behind. Is there anything you need help with that we can escalate?

    what is your screen freezes and the audio runs ahead. Unfortunately the screen freezing with Camtasia recorder has still not been resolved. So we need the opposite option as well😀

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  2 роки тому

      Not sure why that would be happening, but you can always separate the audio/video, then split the frozen video clip and remove the frozen part to catch it back up.

  • @neohed

    This is sometimes useful but what I need 99.9% of the time is to shrink the video to fit the audio. I use Camtasia for screen casting and I can talk much faster than I type. What I always need to do is speed up 90 seconds of typing to fit to 5 seconds of talking. The approach I use is add the clip speed effect then guess the speed and spend 5 minutes or longer trying to guess what speed I need. Is there a feature to just make a section of video fit a section of audio?

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  8 місяців тому

      No need to guess the time! You can click and drag the clip speed effect on the clip in the timeline (rather than the Properties panel). We show how in this video:
