Thanks for the memories. I really enjoyed the Omaha, NE stop of the Fore tour, August 08, 1987. This video is pretty much exactly how that concert was. As you could imagine, why I became enamored of those particular 49rs legends and a fan of horn sections. I was 17 years old then. 37 years later, I live in the SF Bay area.
Everything here is perfect: Voice, music, lyrics, the times,...Thanks boys. Huey Lewis, I wish you recover your hearing and can sing this beautiful song to all your fans. Hugs.
If you go all the way back to 1964, the Beatles were dominating the charts, but then suddenly, out of the blue "Glad All Over " by the Dave Clark FIve "leap frogged" the Beatles to the top of the charts. It was the tenor-sax of Dennis Payon that fattened the sound and made all the difference. It suddenly became fashionable again to start learning sax, trumpet, trombone etc. Love the horns.
First live concert I ever attended was Huey Lewis and the News. I was 11 or 12. Went with my best friend, his brother and, of course my mom. Pretty much the entire concert I was staring at the bass player, Mario Cipollina because I found it so fascinating that all this excitement was happening around him, and he just stood there, wearing his sunglasses, and a lit in his mouth, cigarette hardly moving a muscle
Okay, thank you. That's enough. Hold it now. Hold it. Hold it, fellas. I'm afraid you're just too darn loud. Next, please. Bring in the next group, please.
Power of love Marty Mcfly and Jennifer Parker back to the future ah back to the seventies and eighties what a time for music memories of a great bygone era music was at its best give me a time machine so I can revisit the best time I always had love Anthony Fed ex lol
Cool band cool harmonies back to the future back to the seventies and eighties when music was music I'm I've Dutch decent as well love Anthony Fed ex lol
This live? I'm usually a bit disappointed with bands live.. But this is faultless. I don't quite believe it. I guess that might be the difference between a band that toured and played themselves into a phenomenon. As opposed to being made a star by some producer and a massive production line studio. (or some of my grunge hero's from the 90s who get particularly grungey live without a bit of studio refinement)
2020 rates a 1. This rates a 10. Poor younguns (lol) they really got screwed inheriting a messed up planet of frightened soy boys and horrible 'singers'.

Not just any horn section hanging out in the back. That's the Tower of Power horns, in all of their mid-80's glory.

Just 1 of their many Best Hits. 2 Thumbs Up to Huey Lewis & The News 👍👍
this guy has real talent unlike the singers today
"Change your heart into a little light Dove... that's the 'Power of Love.'" -- almost Biblical! Sooo good.
Drop the almost!
The dove is the Holy Spirit, and He is capable of inspiring great music (whether the performers even realise it or not)
They appear to be normal Humans making great music with real instruments... WOW
Most underrated band of all time
Really hope his hearing comes back. We need another tour
A really amazing live performance of this song!
What a cool song with a cool message. Power of LOVE!
Maybe the best written tune of all time... can you feel it?
This is not the “This band has real talent and doesn’t use autotune” comment you’re looking for.

How does this have so few views and likes??!
I often enjoy a post and just forget to click the "like".
I dont know. The official video has only 500000 likes too, it should be a few millions.
@@TomMannis My favorite version is this one, it sounds better... 990 000 views (Just skip the intro) : ua-cam.com/video/pJdzNyG86fs/v-deo.html
Cos the sound quality on this vid' is very poor .
The drummer and the white shorts
