Lots of great scenery, John. Your choice of music accentuated the other worldliness of the environment. Yeah... off-roading in New Mexico can be really treacherous. The mud has too much clay in it and the storms can come out of nowhere at any time because of the heat building throughout the day. A perfect morning can turn into a huge thunderhead by two in the afternoon. Staying on scenic pavement or at least gravel is best. The problem with gravel is that it can turn to dirt and then mud, if it rains. And fifty plus miles in can be heart wrenching in the clay mud. Gord
I have a trail that goes through my property in AZ. I have it marked "Private property, stay on the trail". Yes, it's gated but the gate is not locked. Just don't want people riding over my property but I have no problem with them using the trail to go through.
We had both Kevin and Cannonshot - and to be honest I never knew which we were choosing most of the time. They were the same sometimes. Anyway yeah in the video I don’t know if you saw but I adde the map and showed where I think I screwed up and missed the turn - which sent me into a private ranch. My fault. However on Part 2 video we hit a road closed sign north of Silver City. At the time I was 100% convinced it was on (both) tracks. Let me know if you hit it as well. I’m also going to dig into the google maps to verify we were not making mistaken there.
Johnny, can you post your starting and ending points for each vid? I would like to follow the route but can't figure out where you are exactly. Once you got to Cuba I found you but when you left I had no idea where you where headed until you posted that lake name, then mentioned Chama. Thanks.
At the beginning of each I have a little slide maybe you missed that says the main towns we rode through and start/end. Part 1 was Albuquerque to Cloudcroft to El Paso to Silver City Part 2 was Silver City to Pie Tiwn to Grants This one was Grants to Cuba to Chama After I finish the series I’ll probably make a short wrap up video and go through the map of each day.
I really like these videos, BUT for it to be relaxing to watch (at least for me) the music is WAY too loud. Personally I’d prefer to hear the sound from the engine, wind and the surroundings.
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching. I like loud music I guess, but I understand. I hope you stay with the series - there's not always music, and we went to some fun places.
@@JohnnyPowRides I guess what i mean is that it makes the video more alive with the true/real sound, like I’m there riding with you guys, if you know what i mean. Well,i guess we’re all different. Anyway, very nice scenery.
Welp. It is what it is. I push some boundaries sometimes on the music I suppose. I hope you stick around and keep watching, Maybe it won't be so bad after all. But if not, thank you for watching and glad you liked the scenery.
@@JohnnyPowRides I did the CDT this last Summer and also made a UA-cam vid. For me, the music was the hardest thing to incorporate or find and it still sucked. I feel the pain. Thanks for sharing I had such a great time riding CDT id do it again and this time take a month or more and also ride some backcountry routes on the way back.

with luck, ye shall also be as blessed as were we
Hi Champ, what maps did you download, or whose route are you using? We intend to use GPSKevin maps and as far as I know its all open!
