FFS she was a backing singer who played few bass notes. She wrote naff all and if she’d had her way the Pixies would have failed miserably as shown by these tuneless efforts.
Josephine Wiggs eyes are devilish. Seriously, when she sings Lord Of Your Thighs with a chewing-gum, she has such an icy queen attitude in "sneering domination" mode (Kelley playing guitar with a cigarette is super sexy).
the best part about the deals is that you fall in love with the one from pixies then realize theres two. you have no idea how long ive waited for a 3rd to just become the drummer or sound tech.
the Deal girls are from the same city as me so i always had a soft spot for them ....Dayton,ohio baby i know alot of different people who know Kim or Kelly and the drummer was in a local band as well but i have never had the pleasure
Yeah agreed, i went to Vermont back in the 90s and she was there with my friends and her girlfriend and we probably didn't speak one work between us. Very shy as well.
Story I was told was that Kelly had the Gold top Les Paul that Joey played in Pixies but it was Kims she took it back from Kelly, she didn't have a guitar so Kurt gave that Fender to her, then she got the Red Les Paul which she still has to this day. Whether that's 100% fact only they know.
Amazing crowd, it's rare to see peeps having a great time anymore. Everyone's worrying about how their Facebook vids look nowadays, hardly anyone in the moment. 90s concerts were amazing, there was no autotune or fake gizmos. Fishbone was the best show I've ever went to, that was craziness.
@@danielwilson6529 Yeah I don't get it; Why bother staring at the back of your phone when there's bound to be a record of the gig someone else has filmed on UA-cam. I might take a couple of pics as mementos of the occasion but beyond that. I'm there. It's almost as if people think if they haven't recorded it themselves they weren't really there, whereas by watching the concert through the screen of their phones, the opposite is true, because they were never really present.
@bigmuffexpress Okay, got it, that's exactly what it is. I always thought you could hear her guitar distorted at 0:14, but on closer inspection (with headphones), it just sounds like the treble is rolled all the way off. Then at 0:24 you can half see her look down and hit the pedal and then wham! distortion. I used to have this whole performance on a DVD that won't play anymore; on it, this song is presented in full and is preceded by "S.O.S." and "Flipside." "Invisible Man" is also complete.
I remember when the chorus dropped for Cannon Ball the crowd would all leap up at once, except that I found myself thrust down to the ground by some pogoing oaf behind me. I was on the floor in that tightly packed moshpit and for what seemed like and eternity I couldn't get up; genuinely my scariest festival experience ever!
Space Cake is cookies or brownies mixed with weed I've had brownies with weed before great stuff its like Cake with icing they go toggethher perfectly. You get really high from it but I prefer smoking it it's easier then having to wait for the oven lol.
It was right around this time that Kim started doing every gig rip-ass-roaring drunk. She went back to Ohio and played with the Amps and people said she was drunk at every show. In 2002, I saw Breeders in Minneapolis and Kim was drinking bottle after bottle of Rolling Rock. Like a lot of drunks, she was funny, but there was this embarrassing moment between songs when she looked like she was going to fall over with that blurry-blitzed look on her face. Kelley's inlaws were in the balcony, too
i read somewhere she was in England late that year doing a festival and drinking heavily like normally she did, but the English beer was stronger and her whole body was badly shaking and then she checked herself into rehab. her sister Kelley said in the great documentary 'The Real Deal- a documentary about the Breeders' that they both had addiction type problems. looks like she traded beer for food after 2002. glad she appears in better health in recent years
Can we just talk about how cool Josephine Wiggs was when she sang Lord of The Thighs? That was fucking badass
With the English accent adds flavor.
I wish I could be even an ounce of how cool she is
Josephine is coming into her peak .. her bass playing is slick on Cannonball .. As usual Jim keeps showing me why he's my current top 5 indies.
She looks like Seinfeld's Susan Costanza on ger leabian phase 😄
Freaking creepy but cool AF.
He wanted her out of the Pixies because she became the darling of the band. Everyone loved Kim, and it was his band.
tried to fire her, but the band lawyers advised him against it. even threw a guitar at her on stage according to an old buzzfeed article
@@steve_22xy as I can remember, the lawyers wanted to fire her but she convinced the members not to do it
Rock n roll /fuk i never knew that/both bands rock anyhow fuk the shit enjoi the music 😎

@@kenjones6441 man, I wrote that comment 9 years ago 😂 plus if you watch loudquietloud Joey basically says that ^ word for word
Kelly...Cool, talented and Hot as hell.
I love Kim's voice, can listen for hours
Warm and sweet. Would love to hear her sing lullabies.

The cig was gross.

Kelley is ex drummer, so there are three sisiters in some way.
Ugh a live version of "Invisible Man" is so hard to find- I wish the whole thing were on here, but thanks for some great (and very rare) material!
For years I never "got" Invisible Man, but it is now recently my favorite Last Splash song.
Viva The Breeders...Viva the early 90’s.!
This band crushed it when I saw the lsxx tour great great great performance
the Deal girls are from the same city as me so i always had a soft spot for them ....Dayton,ohio baby i know alot of different people who know Kim or Kelly and the drummer was in a local band as well but i have never had the pleasure
Jesus eggs The Breeders were nails back then. What a band!
I think I might have just fallen in Love with Kim for the second time
I remember this was live on TV.
According to Kim they were incredibly stoned from eating space cake.
Josephine Wiggs is cold but is very kool.
Lord of the Thighs was fantastic!
The 90s were such an awesome time to be a teenager. Awesome music and much weed and hash.
It was even better being old enough to drink and see these bands in clubs.
Josephine is such a queen
Yeah agreed, i went to Vermont back in the 90s and she was there with my friends and her girlfriend and we probably didn't speak one work between us. Very shy as well.
Was there and no, I don't fel old now ;-)
I love almazing thuis Pinkpop classic

Ich liebe the breeders
thanks for uploading this
...good times!
This is gold, many thanks! btw, seems like Kelly is playing one of Kurt Cobain Fenders, anyone knows?

Love the bass line in lord of thighs , how Josephine can sing and play at the same time it’s beyond me I find it so hard
Many thx Uploader, great band and great sound.
Awesome quality for something that was recorded over 15 yrs ago. thanks for uploading!
Twenty years ago. holy fuck
I was there...just as stoned as they were 😇
I Fucking Love the Twins!
Woah! Brilliant.

Drummer looks like Stephan Bonnar (UFC veteran)
Emilio Estevez from Breakfast Club on drums. That explains why Kim is stoned...
Kiosk 1083 Haha, does look like him ! They were *all* stoned out of their gourds that day on Space-Cake, btw...
seriously, that face at around 3:40 is one of the best rock and roll moments of all fucking time.
Pure pussy hound.
YESSS
5:31 Josephine was smiling at Jim. Maybe one of them found out they missed the beat or couldn’t get the timing right?

Last splash is right! What a cool era.....
And I want "Cannonball" to be my life song
AWESOME QUALITY! a bit of a delay but who cares! thanks for posting!
They covered Aerosmith "Lord of the thighs" pretty badass. At 2:00.
kelly is really pretty
anyone know what Kim says 0:47 - 0:50 ? "Did the entire song [.......] the distortion pedal."
full show!!!!
@caiojunio THANKS!
if you slow down the first song and take away the lead guitar, its just bone machine by pixies
+sam pope Obviously not... what song are you hearing?.. play it on a bass...not the same at all.
I have recently come to understand that every song is Bone Machine...
Sounds more like "Vamos" to me.
❤️❤️

Josephine is cool and beautiful!
Cool, yes.
This might sound crazy but Josephine reminds me slightly of Ben Orr.
I don't think you're off the mark. I find that cool.
I forgot that lord of the flies was Aerosmith, I haven't heard that in a long time.

Kelley liked the smack and Kim liked the booze
exelente, you have more?
@visitinguncle "the entire song i couldn't find the distortion pedal"
There was probably an element of jealousy, but she was very obviously out of control. It must have been impossible to get along with her.
Their drummer is SO HOT.
thank god for long hair
whats the name of first song?
head to toe
If you don't like the breeders you're not really a pixies fan now are you
fucking perfect
fucking badass as you said it
Which one is Kim? seriously?
Kim is in white. Kelly in red
5:33 rastaman in trance hahahah
@TitaniousGrubbs Yeah me too, I bring the cake, you bring the sisters. Deal? ;-)
i never know who kim is ./
raboesperto It's the other way around these days. Saw them last Summer, turns out alcoholism has more long term effects than heroin addiction.
MrPing1000
i bet you're ugly
raboesperto Theyre both pretty cute
kim is wearing red
Nope, Kelley is in red. Kim is in white playing the acoustic.
3:02-3:06 : TOTAL BADASS

@grumpypant cookies/cakes made with THC. They get you fuuuuucked up.
Jim Macpherson's got an awful hairstyle here
@mlovmo Yup. Looking at this, you can understand why Thompson wanted her gone. She was probably fucked up for years before this.
