That was absolutely wonderful. And it came out. Really nice looking. Made me feel like I was straight back in Salem Massachusetts on Halloween. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and inspiring my soul.❤❤
She says in another comment its Long Riffa from the craft store but any other grass would work 😊 I want to make one, if you did end up doing it what did you use?
Jessie Eermit as for stick/handle, birch is recommended but not required! If you find a piece of wood and you like it’s energy you can use that too, I used a piece of driftwood I found at the beach because it also represents the water element
The bristles are long raffia I purchased from the craft store. You can use any kind of long grass or even sticks collected from the yard. Hope that helps!

I'll be trying this but with a longer handle and longer grass. Great tutorial!
I filed a groove around the handle to catch the ties, so the handle doesn't slip out

Where do u get the straw?
Long raffia from the craft store, but she mentioned other grasses would work aswell
you can honestly just find tall sturdy grasses and plant shoots and dry them!
Kool chevere
Can I ask what you soaked them in?
Just water. It took about an hour for them to become pliable. Different grasses my need more time.
Can I ask what you used for the bristles? Were those reeds?

I have a lot of sage brush. Will that work for the grass part? I’d like to put it to use somehow.
