I think Liverpool are planning to use Szoboszlai as an attacking 8 who drifts out to the right allowing Salah to come inside a little more. A lot of Liverpool's difficulty in going forward last season was that Salah had to play too wide to accommodate TAA cutting inside.
Spot on! It was frustrating to see Salah playing so wide....as his position being so wide....was to provide assists to Nunez and then score some for himself. Salah keep wide on the right flank and Trent bomb forward. It used to be Hendo cover for Trent when he bomb forward....but Hendo is ageing and got injured alot. Klopp changed things up with adding in Harvey in the right triangle..but the lad is unable to win his 1v1...as yet...he did grew more muscle and training his core over the season. With Liverpool signing Szoboszlai it pretty much confirms they’re sticking to the 3-4-3 box midfield in possession. Alexis and Szobo both play similar roles but they’re also both very versatile, have legs and have shown good pressing capabilities. You can call it overpriced but deals like Alexis Mac Allister (which is £35m, The Athletic reported that there are no add-ons) will become less and less frequent with the market inflation. It’s a great signing imo and makes a strong case for an Alexis-Fabinho-Szobo midfield with the capacity to add Thuram if they continue forward with that deal
I’m sure Joe doesn’t watch La Liga or watched any Barcelona’s game. Araujo and Kounde have been playing all across the defense full season. Eric Garcia has also played multiple positions for Barca this season. Kounde won’t be sold less than 70M and he’s not 4th choice. Him and araujo are up there in first names in the team.

Liverpool will end up playing similar tactics to City based on the players we’re bringing in. Trent pushes into the midfield beside Fabinho. Mac Allister and Szobozlai as the floating CAMs. And Salah-Gakpo/Nunez-Diaz/Jota up front.
45:18 loool nah you're good Joe, there's been talk of it so it's not crazy to say two things tho, 1) he's absolutely not behind Garcia for CB, he's often played over Garcia when Araujo/Christensengot injured 2) the only reason he'd leave is because he's being played at RB so he 100% won't go to City if he's considered Walker's replacement

@@tealic367 In todays market 60m for Szobo is a totally normal price. I mean has a similar profile to De Bryne in 2015. And City had to pay 55m for him. This was before inflation kicked in though. So 60m today are about 30m 5 years ago
@@dylanrosen9746 okay but I think what he's trying to say is Xavi will basically never choose him as his main Cb .. because maybe there are games when he still plays rb and even eric garcia is at cb
Juan mata leaving chelsea was the first time a player leaving my club truly truly broke me. Even hazard going to madrid didnt hurt (cause the man deserved that move and it was a long time coming). David luis to PSG was the second closest but that went away when that troll celebrated his game winning goal to knock us out the champions league 😵💫
Liverpool Szoboszlai: My suggestion is Viktor Tsyhankov( plays for Girona, massive output number, those are really elite numbers. Top 90 percentile in Non penalty goals, Assists, Progressive carries and Touches in the final third)
I am buzzing with Tonali at Newcastle, but Caqueret would have made more sense, I doubt we could still sign him as we're prioritising a left back and a right winger (Cherki)
No offence to you guys, good ball knowledge, but other than pat, the rest of your guys’ international ball knowledge is pretty dismal. Saying that Xavi prefers Garcia over Kounde at CB is outrageous. Saying they would accept 60 mil for Kounde is ludicrous. You clearly are not watching or following Barcelona at all
I would not be surprised if Madrid used Fede at striker next season. Yes he’s never played there and his numbers aren’t ideal but he is just one of the most versatile players in the world and he’d do a job there. He’s already got tons of competition in midfield so who knows
Great video lads. I would of pitched Veiga for Mount, 21 with a 35m release clause & higher ceiling than Caqueret. Agree with Pat on the Kudos shout for Szoboszlai. Instead of Caicedo I’d look at Sandry from Santos. If I was Tuchel & Kane is unattainable, I would pay the 69m to Benfica for Gonçalo Ramos. I also same as Pat thought of Balogun as a cheap gamble, should suit Bundesliga, reckon you could throw 30m at Arsenal for him. Lazy shout for the Gvardiol alternative but has to be Kim Min Jae, you lose the full back element of Gvardiol but quality CB and you can shift an Ake or Akanji wide. Surely if Guardiola comes knocking he would choose them over Munich. Agree with Joe on Disasi for PSG instead of Theo. Although Colwill is a great shout too, just don’t think Levi would want the move. There is no alternative to Mbappe, doesn’t exist. Could you rotate someone in the centre like Musiala with Vini & Rodrygo. Then Mbappe next year for free and stick Jamal out wide. Tough one as Kylian wants to play wide anyway 🤷🏻♂️
Chelsea Caicedo: My suggestion is 1) Ibrahim Sangare(One of the CDM of Dutch league for a long long time still no big club went for him. I think this is the best time to get him, he is 25 and his pick are nearing and he has lots of experience by now. This looks like a great a fit. Natural physique is very very strong, technically great, tackling is excellent) 2) Mikel Merino (plays for Real Sociedad, one of the dynamic midfielders in La Liga, he do everything in the midfield, an all round package. I think chelsea can get a terrific midfielder for a reasonable price without any competition from big clubs and he is 27(so called the pick age), Merino deserves to play for a european elite club)
1) Technically eh... I know that because I'm Dutch I tend to both underrate and overvalue technical ability, but ever since I've seen Sangare with my own eyes I'm really not surprised the top clubs haven't taken the gamble on him yet. While he's gotten better over the years (in his first year I became convinced the only reason he had such high ball recovery numbers was because he'd constantly have to win the ball back after losing it himself, that's how bad he was on the ball) he's still not a technical marvel. Maybe he's technically good enough now, but he's definitely not great.
Man city - Gvardiol My suggestions for a hybrid CB/LB will be 1) Facundo Medina (Plays for Lens. Aggressive defender, technically superb, passing is excellent, perfect for pep's high pressing system, he is just 24!!!! . His stats passing stats are insane(top 98+ percentile for progressive carries, progressive passes, successful take-ons , assists and shot creating actions) Man city must go for him!!!!!! ) 2) Arthur Theate (Plays for Rennes, great ball carrier, good passing range, needs to improve his defensive game more but he is very young and pep has great track record of moulding players into his system, I think this can be a great long term investment for man city)
I like the Szobozslai move to Liverpool, think he's a great fit. At the same time, I question if that was 60 million well spent when they arguably need cover for CDM, CB and maybe a RB backup to Trent. Liverpool had the third best attack in the league (whilst not being very clinical) but their defence let them down and needs replenishing. In saying that, I can see them going out and pumping teams left right and centre next season and the defence problem matters less.
If city can’t get gvardiol, colwill would make a lot of sense if Chelsea would sell to us. Kounde as Walker replacement is great but if he’s not happy playing rb at Barca, he won’t want to be rb at city. Schlotterbeck was embarrassed by Haaland in the champions league after calling him out so don’t think he or city would enjoy that dynamic
Perfect Signing for United would be Melo Gusto from Lyon that Chelsea bought , he can be starter over Bissaka or cover for Casemiro if he is out. Shame he in Chelsea now
Chelsea should be signing 1 of Olise/Cherki along with Kudus, Tyler adams and Lavia instead of Caicedo for £100mil. With NKunku out for months, getting enough cover for positions and interchangeability is important. We should be selling Chalobah and Gallagher to West Ham for £75-80mil. If they can pay £60 mil for Maguire\Mctominay, we could easily get them to buy our 2 players for £70-80mil. The budget for Caicedo along with the funds from the above transfer should be enough to get these signings in and help us get Top 4 for sure!
Edson Alvarez is exceptional on the ball 😂😂😂 Joe hasn't watched a minute of Eredivisie football these last few seasons, just because someone has a high pass completion doesn't make them great on the ball. Alvarez has tried dictating the tempo for Ajax this year, and they finished closer to #6 than to #1. He was forced into this role of deeplying playmaker because his partner in the midfield Kenneth Taylor is the world champion of hide and seek. He's a decent 6, but he is extremely average on the ball. Not worth the 40 million euros. Statistically speaking Sangaré from PSV is the league's best defensive midfielder and he has a 37 million euros release clause, but the international Ajax propaganda always does its job. (Also love the fact that a 40m player from Ajax can be classed as a budget defensive midfielder 😂 so funny)
My alternatives: For Man United, Adrien Rabiot would be my cheaper option For Liverpool, Khephren Thuram would be my cheaper option For Chelsea, Romeo Lavia would be my cheaper option For Bayern, Lautaro Martinez would be my cheaper option For Man City, Alessandro Bastoni would be my cheaper option For PSG, Nico Schlotterbeck would be my cheaper option For Real Madrid, Dusan Vlahovic would be my cheaper option
I'm a full blown internet troll, and even I like the Mason Mount signing. I think he will do great under Ten Hag. It's gonna be very interesting to see exactly how the midfield will be set up the coming season.
Levi Colwill seems like a huge talent, but paying that much for a player without even 15 starts at the Prem and making him a starter at psg? I think it's too much of a gamble, as a squad player and later on a starter would be an amazing signing though. I hope he can stay at Brighton for at least one more season!
I still don't understand the narrative about Kane and Spurs. He has made it very clear for years now that he has no interest going to a foreign country so that rules out the Real Madrids or Bayerns to have a chance. He was ready to go to City but Spurs shut that down and they signed Haaland so realistically they're out of the running leaving only United showing at least a little mutual interest. Where I think a lot of people lose Kane is the idea that he wants to win trophies, don't you think he would've left by now? From what we've seen from Kane over the years, the things that he seems to care about is loyalty to his home club and that prem goal record. I wouldn't be surprised if Kane ends up leaving at some point but my expectations are for him to sign a new deal, be one of the highest paid players in the world, finish his career at Spurs and break the record. Whether he wins silverware or not I truly don't think he cares at this point, give him the financial security and personal accolades and he’s good. Just think, how many times have we talked about Kane leaving Spurs? And how many times does he end up staying or signing a new deal? What has changed this time that is going to change the circumstances?
as a barca fan, as much as i'd love to berate you in this comment, the only untouchables in our defence are araujo and balde, and to some extent christensen. kounde is truly world class, and for 50mil euros he was a bargain imo. but if an offer of 70-80 mil comes in the club would have to asesss that offer. we need a cdm and our finances are terrible atm.
Joe I’m not gonna lie the kounde shout wasn’t great. Garcia barely played last year while kounde played majority of games even though most of them were at rb. But kounde was also trusted in big games at cb compared to Garcia eg. Played cb against United and Madrid . I ain’t Barca but I find highly unlikely they’d let him go for what they paid when he’s gotten better. At city he’d also mostly feature at rb so it’s not like he’d go there cause he wants to play cb
I always wondered how you made sure you didn't pick the sane players without telling them that they picked the same. Turns out you just never picked the same player 😂

Still waiting for more Joe - Pat - Dougie!!
TBH with Leipzig though, this season alone they've lost Laimer, Nkunku, Szoboszlai. They do have Seiko, Baumgartner and Carvalho coming in.
Szoboszlai is €70m which works around to £60m, remember when everyone was quoting Mac Allister as being up to £70m? And he ended being £35m. Szoboszlai will work out cheaper than people think
70 is the confirmed fee, bit of overpay if you ask me
@@tealic367 Euros not pounds
@@tealic367 In todays market 60m for Szobo is a totally normal price. I mean has a similar profile to De Bryne in 2015. And City had to pay 55m for him. This was before inflation kicked in though. So 60m today are about 30m 5 years ago
@@dave-ld8mo yeah it makes sense mb
0 ball knowledge it's genuinely embarrassing.
Ivan Toney was the Kane budget option until he ruined it for himself. Openda is a great cheap option to even Jonathan David
No way he said xavi loves garcia over kounde🤣🤣
he said as a cb.. because for barca he predominantly plays rb
@@keinohinds2584 I understand that im a barca fan… eric barely played at all for us
@@dylanrosen9746 okay but I think what he's trying to say is Xavi will basically never choose him as his main Cb .. because maybe there are games when he still plays rb and even eric garcia is at cb
@@keinohinds2584 because he is the best option to play rb…
You clearly are not watching or following Barcelona at all
Kudus is unreal . I remember him tearing it up in the World Cup even though they got knocked out very early .
Thanks for the hangover cure guys
Chelsea Caicedo:
My suggestion is
1) Ibrahim Sangare(One of the CDM of Dutch league for a long long time still no big club went for him. I think this is the best time to get him, he is 25 and his pick are nearing and he has lots of experience by now. This looks like a great a fit. Natural physique is very very strong, technically great, tackling is excellent)
2) Mikel Merino (plays for Real Sociedad, one of the dynamic midfielders in La Liga, he do everything in the midfield, an all round package.
Edson Alvarez is perfect for United desparetly need a 6 him next to casermiro in big games is solid.
All of Joe's picks are so lazy. Don't think he put much thought into it
Why are they not considering the contract issue with mount aswell? That's affected the value.
Man city - Gvardiol
My suggestions for a hybrid CB/LB will be
1) Facundo Medina (Plays for Lens. Aggressive defender, technically superb, passing is excellent, perfect for pep's high pressing system, he is just 24!!!! . His stats passing stats are insane(top 98+ percentile for progressive carries, progressive passes, successful take-ons , assists and shot creating actions) Man city must go for him!!!!!! )
2) Arthur Theate (Plays for Rennes, great ball carrier, good passing range, needs to improve his defensive game more but he is very young and pep has great track record of moulding players into his system, I think this can be a great long term investment for man city)
I heard there trying to target pavard for that role
He'd be a good fit.
Gnabry for Madrid shout is goated I think
If city can’t get gvardiol, colwill would make a lot of sense if Chelsea would sell to us. Kounde as Walker replacement is great but if he’s not happy playing rb at Barca, he won’t want to be rb at city. Schlotterbeck was embarrassed by Haaland in the champions league after calling him out so don’t think he or city would enjoy that dynamic
Perfect Signing for United would be Melo Gusto from Lyon that Chelsea bought , he can be starter over Bissaka or cover for Casemiro if he is out. Shame he in Chelsea now
Who is watching this when Liverpool have already signed sbozbali
Chelsea should be signing 1 of Olise/Cherki along with Kudus, Tyler adams and Lavia instead of Caicedo for £100mil. With NKunku out for months, getting enough cover for positions and interchangeability is important.
We should be selling Chalobah and Gallagher to West Ham for £75-80mil. If they can pay £60 mil for Maguire\Mctominay, we could easily get them to buy our 2 players for £70-80mil. The budget for Caicedo along with the funds from the above transfer should be enough to get these signings in and help us get Top 4 for sure!
jonathan david to bayern would be very cool, would be nice to see him with his fellow canadian in davies
Madrid should've signed Firmino
Edson Alvarez is exceptional on the ball 😂😂😂
Joe hasn't watched a minute of Eredivisie football these last few seasons, just because someone has a high pass completion doesn't make them great on the ball.
Yeah exactly, his best ability isn’t passing
Very interesting
I would love to see Caqueret in the PL, heard his name for a few seasons now
Arsenal is getting Rice, Tchouameni, and Havertz and you are talking about Liverpool and Chelsea? Unbelievable.
Nico Raskin at Rangers is one to watch, Belgian U-21 international CDM/CM. A premier league club could probably get him for £15m.
My alternatives:
For Man United, Adrien Rabiot would be my cheaper option
For Liverpool, Khephren Thuram would be my cheaper option
For Chelsea, Romeo Lavia would be my cheaper option
For Bayern, Lautaro Martinez would be my cheaper option
For Man City, Alessandro Bastoni would be my cheaper option
For PSG, Nico Schlotterbeck would be my cheaper option
For Real Madrid, Dusan Vlahovic would be my cheaper option
I'm a full blown internet troll, and even I like the Mason Mount signing. I think he will do great under Ten Hag. It's gonna be very interesting to see exactly how the midfield will be set up the coming season.
Levi Colwill seems like a huge talent, but paying that much for a player without even 15 starts at the Prem and making him a starter at psg? I think it's too much of a gamble, as a squad player and later on a starter would be an amazing signing though.
I hope he can stay at Brighton for at least one more season!
Does Pato watch football or does he just read the stats after the games.
Speaking as a Culer who has followed Barca this season, Xavi does NOT prefer Garcia to Kounde. Garcia played the least this season of all the CBs!
Every player mentioned would improve Utd but we haven’t got enough money. Can you do a “Where should Utd fringe players move” vid??
Mount to United doesn't change much we need another DM. Over resilience on Casemiro cost alot. Bring in Caicedo!
Fark me Pat's a stat merchant
If you're looking at a full season, stats matter. The eye test is way too biased
@@clauslarsen8971stats without context though aren’t that worthwhile.
If you use them to judge a player you’ve actually watched a few times it can be.
Does Pato watch football or does he just read the stats after the games.
Seeing Joe Thomlinson being unbiased is better ... he's neutral for once
Rabiot on a free for mount
Ndidi for Declan rice
Josko Gvardiol is 191cm (6 3 1/2)
Remember John terry saying 3/4 years ago colwill will be one of the best
U guys are talking about Disasi, Lucas Hernandez, but not Facundo Medina!!!!!! This is mad man, just have a look at Facundo Medina, he has an agressive spark in his play, he is technically excellent
