We missed most of the match but i think it's a decent introduction to the sport, definitely enough to make people go "Whoa what is that!"

7.7 rating... all around was solid stuff with good comms BUT we missed some of the game and we could of highlighted star players better.

All I got to say is We Did It!!! History has been made and I really hope they put World Cup on TV as well this year. I don’t think this could have happened if the Spick & Span show did not confront the issue of paintball being on TV in an open format here by bringing the owner, manager and other members of the NXL into the conversation with the general public. Great job to everyone who was part of making this dream into a reality.
P.S. on the issue of a format made just for TV that is original XBall. You can put so many commercials between each point it can be insanely profitable. The penalty boxes need to come back in order to encourage aggression. You can get a penalty going hard win the point and then play defense till your reinforcements come back in the game from the box. Original XBALL was perfect for TV. It just never really got a chance to live on TV because of the 2008 financial depression. When you’re not winning on the field you always go back to the basics to get things working right again. Two half’s, penalty boxes, real XBall would sell and make bank with all the commercial space that is between each point. It’s expensive to play that way but it’s what was made for TV and if the pros play it that way maybe it would sell more on TV. Just saying XBall was made for TV and now we finally got it on there, like Tom Cole said we have to change the game to be what people want to see. We are modern day Gladiators, the goal is always to win the crowd ;)

Biggest problem for me (I have plenty of compliments as well-It genuinely was the best paintball broadcast by a mile) is the choice of go pro footage. They only used it when guys were crawling looking at the dirt. Why not show the bunkering, gun fighting instead, and standing on the box to show what it’s like to be on the field.

GoPro convo - Maybe we can talk GoPro into creating an R7 style barrel cam for hunters and others that might prefer a tube style camera.
Format convo - MilSim with building/maze style field, We could develop a temp. building system that is like office cubicles and the layout would change from event to event.. But look at what HK did with the Airsoft stuff - that was very cool and i wonder if we could take that same idea and use the glow in the dark stuff to support that same..

Limiting paint in speedball is just a way to try to dumbdown the sport to try to make it more appealing to the kind of players who like to go play in the woods. This will hurt the sport and have a huge negative long term impact on the sport, on the players who have already been won over, understand the sport and love it. Big mistake limiting paint mark my words. If you want less lane locking and less paint then just start doing mech tournaments televised. Makes no sence to create the markers that are made these days and then try to restrict them by using less paint. Why would we need the top of the line markers with all the tech if there just going to be restricted. Would hurt sales all around and therefore speedball itself.

As for the Olympics...take Surfing out! It 10,000% does not belong unless stay at a wave pool...you have weather, swells, wave periods, tides and directions....as for paintball, it's 100% a controlled environment, and it's played in a bunch of countries.
