I love Junip so much. They're just one of those bands where everything they write is gold... and they're humble and cool. No pretentious crap, just great songwriting.
Proof that music doesn't need to be overtly complex and overwrought with multiple tracks to touch your soul. This man has a true gift to transpose his thoughts and feelings into song. Its rare that such simplicity can cross the barrier of human connection and emotion w/out becoming boring and tiresome. Jose and JUNIP are indeed, special.
That said, listen to Without You by Junip. That song is surprisingly complex and it’s the complexity of that song that brings out it’s beauty. Each instrument brings in tension to the song and that’s what makes it beautiful.

people who keep saying "there's no good 'new' music out there" or that "music is dead" are the ones who have never heard of JUNIP or listened to any of their Incredible songs. 267,428 is far too low of a view count for this amazing video (IMO). Totally UNDERRATED band (which sounds just as amazing live as they do recorded) and hopefully being on the soundtrack for "the secret life of Walter Mitty" will bring their view count/notoriety up a little bit as they deserve it, very talented band that makes good music. :)
They sound like they bring the ambience of MOUNTAIN snow........twigs ...Wet air...coffee ...smell...near the frozen river.. Only musician band you could pair with Elliott Smith or Quasi.
