  • The Kreg Foreman Universal Workbench was designed specifically to be able to move the Foreman around in my shop to utilize my shop space.
    I put cabinets into the Universal Steel Stand for tools and put a top with enough overhang to double as a work surface when I'm not using the Kreg Foreman
    A BIG thank you to Kreg Tools for sending me their products to make this video!
    I think the workbench turned out awesome, let me know what you think!
    Enjoy

    Knotty Dog. Just want to say, "FANTASTIC CABINET"! In the process of building my "DREAM SHOP". My patience really paid off when finding you build and assembly of you KREGG FOREMAN CABINET, Sweet. Could you give me a little in-site to your build? Would really appreciate it. Watched it a few times and really get the gist of what you did. Just wanted if you could share the build Plans and materials! Have a bunch of Baltic Birch in the rack!
    Great video and just what the doctor ordered! Just retired as a veteran 30-year Executive Chef and High School Varsity Swim Coach! Actually, swam all the same events Michael Phelps swam in his career. Just a little slower now at 67 young years!
    All my very best,
    Bill "COACH Layton

Immensely impressive-- nice project! Love the spray paint template for the peg board-- what did you use to create/cut the template?

    Is there a reason why you the kreg foreman is projecting out the front instead of the rear? It seems like the space behind the fence on the foreman is useless anyways so wouldn't it be better to have the front more flush and hang the ass of the forman out the back more? Or is there something Im not thinking of? Im jelly of that conturo, im getting tired of speed tape and irons :(

    1st time I've seen drawers built in that sequence. And the center drawer, almost useless now?
    Project looks really cool though.

    • @KnottyDogWoodshop
      @KnottyDogWoodshop  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah it was a quick way to ensure they lined up. Not bad for shop drawers but I wouldn’t recommend for client work.
      The bottom drawer works ok, I only store stuff I don’t use very often.

  • @kma2032

    Really nice work station. Why didn't you use a larger 28x44 table so the foreman didn't stick out as far?
    Thanks

    • @KnottyDogWoodshop
      @KnottyDogWoodshop  5 років тому +2

      You could use the 28x44 bench if you wanted to, I went with the 20 x44 because I had a few cut offs with the rough widths of the cabinets below. I wanted to use from my scrap pile plus I had the extra drawer slides from the tool wall videos I did. I worked backwards on this one so I didn’t have to spend much on the project. Hope that makes sense! Thanks for watching!

  • @joeychgo
    @joeychgo 3 роки тому

    One more question. how do you find the stability with the top front table brace absent?

    • @KnottyDogWoodshop
      @KnottyDogWoodshop  3 роки тому

      It works well, I secured the top through the blue supports on the side and back and the top was also secured with the cabinet going up. So it’s still 3 points of contact on the top being secured. Do you have an Instagram page?

    • @joeychgo
      @joeychgo 3 роки тому

      @@KnottyDogWoodshop no Instagram page. I’m kind of at a standstill since Krefeld is out of stock of these

  • @jeffolsen3228
    @jeffolsen3228 3 роки тому

    Just curious, how come you didn’t use the 28”x44” universal bench? That way it wouldn’t stick out in the front, but maybe you want it to? Awesome build!

    • @KnottyDogWoodshop
      @KnottyDogWoodshop  3 роки тому

      Because at the time I didn’t have much floor space to dedicate to just one footprint. And this would be easier to move around in a smaller shop. Since then I’ve upgraded to a commercial building and I still feel like this is a perfect size to move around when needed.
