Very nicely done! My husband and I are considering a Viking ocean cruise to New England and Canada. Thank you for all the helpful information and the very nice music. :).

@@visitwithus Thanks for the info. In the past I have used small ships via Princess. But I tried Norwegian and it was horrible; so overcrowded and rather filthy I decided never to cruise again. But your videos give me hope. I will try Viking.
Hi Rich and Helen, next month we take our third Viking transatlantic, Barcelona to San Juan, the other two were Ft. Lauderdale to Barcelona. Most relaxing cruises ever. Thanks for the really excellent video on the Viking restaurants and food. We watched it again just to put us in the mood for another great voyage. Thanks much for all your excellent and most informative videos. Best regards from two English expats in Florida, George and Angela Mason.
I hope you realise that posting this video right now is the nemesis of every well-intentioned new year diet! I've just had to spend my evening googling the ingredients to make Norwegian waffles & source lingonberry jam & brown cheese. You naughty couple, corrupting us with yet another delightful vlog.
Lovely presentation. Can't wait for our Mediterranean Viking Odyssey... knowing the pleasant accommodations, tasty food options await. A long deserved vacation for wifey and I !
Thank you! We'll be on the Venus later this month and that waffle looks so good, but my taste buds and goat cheese don't work well together. Sounds like this might be my big breakthrough.
Going next week on Viking Sky and this was by far the best made and most informative video of Viking dining that I have found. Thank you and and can't wait!!

We just booked our first cruise with Viking. My mouth was watering watching your video. The food looks exquisite. We are so looking forward to this cruise.
Well; we fly to Rome tomorrow for three days and then pick up a 23-day cruise from Rome to Fort Lauderdale. This will our 6th Viking trip. Oh, how we will suffer eating. and drinking We have tried lower cost and several of the ultra-luxury lines, and still feel Viking offers us just what we want. A great video.
Went on aMediteranean cruise with them in March, and as you say, the food was a major highlight. We ate ate Chefs table, Manfreddis and the Restaraunt several times! The World Cafe was always top notch and we even got room service a few times. It was our first ocean cruise with them (did a River before) but definitely won’t be our last!
Hope to do many more myself, and I have to say the World Cafe was always my favorite. We had full access to the other 3 any time we wanted, no reservations necessary! So Tomahawk steak, lobster, crab leg, sushi - always available! We did a back-to-back river a few years ago & that was lovely too.
Very well done review! Very comprehensive. We finally got to experience the Kitchen Table on our fourth Viking oceans cruise on Viking Neptune (after it was previously cancelled on Viking Sea and Viking Jupiter for various reasons). We didn't get to accompany the Chef to a market - but it was still a great experience - highly recommended for fun, learning, teamwork & the food! We also did a behind the scenes kitchen tour with the Chef as part of this.
What lovely visual and sound editing you have done - creating a wonderful, almost mesmerizing experience for your viewers. It helps, of course, that your voice work is of exceptionally high quality. I taught communication and speech at university for 40 years. Wish your channel had been around before my retirement. What a marvelous example your videos are for prospective vloggers!
Beautiful Video & Presentation! We are going on Our First Viking Ocean ( we've been on two Viking River cruises) in November Bangkok to Bali. I am looking so forward to enjoying Location, Ship, And the FOOD! LOL
Ok, we’re curious. Just started watching these videos and absolutely love the flow, pacing, and videography of each. We’re you (asking you both) in the marketing field of work before retiring? Your voiceovers are genuinely the most soothing and perfectly matched asset of every one. Each of these could be an official guide for the cruise lines. Great job to you both :-)
Thank you so much for your kind words Bryan and we hope you've subscribed. :) Nope, neither of us have any form of marketing/PR/promotional background. We're finance and teaching ex-professionals who just love making videos of our travels and we happen to just like the way we do them. We are so glad you do too! :)
@@visitwithus Not lying when I say this...I am completely shocked. I've been around agency design (in web/UX capacity), and your voiceover, videography, and soundtrack selections are all top-notch and would fit right in. We had to (Cov19) cancel our 25th Anniversary (2020) river cruise of Christmas Markets, and it was crushing. Being able to experience just a touch of travel abroad from these type videos helps - and ya'll do a wonderful job on that. I'm 51, and look forward to traveling with my wife in the coming years, as ya'll have been able to do. We've just been living it vicariously through others, getting excited to try again for our 30th 😉 (Yep, we're subs)
@@bryanchalker Honestly Bryan, that's very kind of you, thank you! Being 51 myself, we have reached the travelling stage in our lives just a tiny bit before you, but believe me, it's SO worth it when it finally arrives! :D
@@visitwithus - I have to agree. I have not seen more professional cruise videos than yours! Considering you are amateur videographers, I can only say you have natural talent far beyond most pros in the field. I watched another cruise video after yours, and it was jerky, badly narrated, crummy music, just the more amateurish product I would expect from average Joe’s. By comparison, yours is magnificent! You have an new career waiting for you if you want it.
Thank you for a beautiful video. We were on the Venus in May 2021 and it was good to revisit the culinary delights. The Chef’s Table is our favourite followed by the Restaurant. The meal which disappointed us the most was the British menu at the Chef’s Table. It was lovely also to see a few crew members that we remember clearly.
It probably all depends on what you are familiar with eating. I did the Asian themed meal at the Chef's Table and it was good, but it wasn't my favorite. I wanted to do the American theme I believe, but we couldn't get into those dates. I really wanted to do Manfredi's as we had it scheduled, but the day we had reservations for it, our excursion got back an hour late, and they had to keep the World Cafe open an hour longer to feed everyone that missed their reservations, or who hadn't eaten anything yet.
Thanks for watching George. Yes, we found the British Menu the least outstanding of the three. Though I have to say the other two set the bar VERY high! :D
Ah, memories! I’ve been on 2 Viking Ocean Cruises with 2 more booked this year. I love all of the venues but Mamsen’s waffles & Afternoon Tea are my (current) favorites. I can’t wait to get onboard again! Thanks for another great video!
Another very well done video! Thank you for taking the time to produce such a well thought out and helpful video, covering everything I wanted to know for my upcoming cruise on the Viking Neptune!
This was an outstanding video. We are taking our 3rd Viking Ocean cruise in September which will be our first since 2019 and I wanted a refresher course for dining onboard. This was exactly what I needed. I'm very impressed with your videography and curious what camera you use and what resolution it was shot in?
@visitwithus I'll be traveling with my Sony A6700 this trip but I mainly shoot photos. I think it would take me a long time to get to your level of videos
Excellent video! You have captured the Viking Dining experience quite well. We have taken 8 Viking Ocean Cruises, had 6 cancelled due to Covid and 6 more booked in 2022 and 2023. Our next is on the new MARS in only 91 days. We wouldn't consider any other Ocean Cruise Line!
Never get tired of your UA-cams. We've been on 5 Viking Ocean Cruises, and like other commenters, the last 2 years have limited our Cruising with cancellations, re-bookings, and have at least "squeezed in" our last Ocean Cruise with Viking Venus recently in February. You two really get it: A few coins more to go 1st Class.
Did the Star January - May 2022; know my ship intimately and am so homesick for my "assisted living" ship! Never a dull moment. We never knew where we were going when we set off, supposedly "around the world", well lot of u-turns and North-South, instead of West - East but we loved every minute. And can't imagine the logistics involved. After watching another video of a Viking ship not having enough time to refill fully I thought that was a minor hiccup. At one point we needed fuel and had to stop in Argentina, got our fuel but weren't allowed to disembark. Then there was the Vaccination Visas required in Chili and Saudi Arabia, thought our crew was going to have a nervous breakdown trying to walk us and themselves through the hurdles! All so exciting and I can't say enough about the crew from our captain down to the ones working in the bowels of the ship! I don't think I could ever do a 1 - 3 week cruise again! Boring & short!
Wow. I have a new bucket list item. Going on this cruise with a bunch of vintage cocktail dresses from the 1930s and 1950’s style. Plus gala dresses at night. Even the swimwear would be inspired in 1950. Love the idea of this cruise. I want relaxing luxury and experience, not just trills and screams like other ships seem to be about. I actually want to see the world on a cruise, so this cruise with free excursions seems amazing 🙏
You can reserve the specialty restaurants before you board. The main dining room is open seating but you can make reservations when on board if you choose.
Correct me if i am wrong but you are using a voice over actor for your videos? He sounds sooo good, but hearing your own speaking voice in the beginning you sound good too!!!
Hehe! Hi Randy and thanks for watching. No I don't use a voice over actor and yes it's me on both counts. Obviously 'live' recordings through a tinny little iPhone microphone isn't going to bring out the rich tones(!) of a good mic. That's why I prefer recoding the narration as much as I can with my nice equipment. Hope that makes sense lol! Thank you for your lovely comments. :)
Hello guys. Hello from South Africa. Just to let you know that the only way to watch your DINING GUIDE videos is to sit with a meal infront of you unless you can please bring WONKA vision to life!. WELL DONE
Thanks for sharing . One question- if I don’t have the premium wine package do I pay for each wine paired with the food ? And we don’t drink that much…. Thanks for any info .
You will pay extra for the wine paring if you don’t have the Silver package but you don’t need to have the premium wine package, it’s included in the silver package. Hope this helps. xx
We never get the silver spirits package and the complementary wines offered with lunch and dinner are quite good. Same with the chef's table, every course has a wine pairing and were all quite good. I am not much of a wine drinker but my wife is, and she has always been happy with the selections. I think you would need to be a wine connoisseur to notice the difference. Leaving in 5 weeks for the "Search for the Northern Lights" cruise and starting to get very excited...probably won't be much al fresco dining on this cruise though. 😉
Viking Ocean is our favorite line by far and we love their food. We have not eaten a lot at Mamsens, but, will do more on our next cruise with them. We never miss afternoon tea in the Wintergarden, it is wonderful. Our favorite is Manfredi's and we will usually eat there at least every other night on our cruises. We usually do breakfast in the World Cafe and never disappointed with the options and the quality of the food at both lunch and breakfast. We have never done room service on any of our 34 cruises, although every time we cruise we say that we will. OK, will do next time. We do enjoy the Restaurant as the MDR and how they have broken it up in smaller sections so that you feel that you are in a more intimate setting. The food is excellent and service is the usual Viking way, absolutely attentive. Thanks so much for sharing this.
Have you ever done breakfast in The Restaurant? Four years ago was my first cruise, and I always ate breakfast in the World Cafe because I didn't know The Restaurant was open for breakfast, and I never knew what hours Mamsen's was open for breakfast or lunch.
Thanks for watching Lou. Wow, 34 cruises with Viking! I must say, I would not say no to that! But you simply MUST try Mamsens more and like Eric said, breakfast in The Restaurant is such a luxurious experience and the food is second to none. Also, room service is a strange one because if you're like us, we're never hungry enough to consider it but we're so glad we did, especially for breakfast. :)
Wonderful and informative video! We enjoyed very much Viking Rhine River cruise Oct 2018 and looking forward to Viking Jupiter Ocean Med this October. Joining us will be 2 couples that cruised with the us on the Rhine. I enjoy interactive cooking, the Kitchen table is a shame to exclude.
Having only been "dragged off" the wonderful Viking Venus yesterday I have to say that Rich is understating the wonderful food. If you add the attention to detail and level of service to the superb food 🥳. We experienced slightly different weather than you guys, Norwegian Sea in January is not for the fainthearted!
Agreed. Far too understated. I should've added cartwheeling acrobats, KISS levels of pyro and a 40-piece brass band complete with baton twirlers. Oh, and lasers. Lot's of lasers!
We are about to go on this on March 1 and are trying to decide if we should postpone due to Covid. How was it? Did anyone have to be quarantined? We don't want to get stuck in a room! Were you able to do all the excursions?
@@shellyharris7650 At the moment once you board you'll be taken to your statement room for a covid test and remain there until you the result. If you are negative then you're free to roam the ship. Again because of current restrictions you're not allowed independent visits in any of the stops. So it might not suit if that's your main requirement from the trip. Need to stress that this could change between now and your trip. But you will have a good time either way! Anybody who tested positive was quarantined and removed from the ship at the next stop. At least 6 didn't manage to sail at all. Most excursions went ahead, with some restrictions.
@@visitwithus You succeeded - we have watched ALL the viking youtube videos and we still learned more from yours. - Great detail and the imagery was as lovely as always. Viking still top of our bucket list when we get to start it.
A good question Paul, and one I can’t answer with authority, although I will say I always follow this mantra. Always ask - if they say no, ask someone else. 😂
Mamson's is a little secret (not really) place to DINE without really being in a dining venue. One of our favorite lesser-known, but so good places to enjoy. (Success cake is the best unknown treat). Tea Time in the Wintergarden is a treat that should never be missed during the cruise, at least once or daily. Pool Grill is a daily option if you desire to get a different type of sandwich, yet it is the same as you would do at home if you could. Burgers, dogs, and so much more. World Cafe is an open buffet-style food for all meals. In the evenings the Sushi is fantastic and well worth a beginning for any meal IMO. (A little know secret - if you desire grilled shrimp, just ask for it at the buffet line. I have always enjoyed a side of shrimp with many meals.) Manfredi's Italian is not just good it is very good. However, it also serves (secret) the absolute best steak I have ever had outside of some of the most expensive steak houses anywhere. The Chefs Table is the absolute best of the best anywhere. This is a not-to-miss experience. It is best if you have the Silver Sea package but even the regular wine pairings are wonderful. On every sailing, the menu changes every 7 days or so and it is great if you can try it as often as the menu changes. The Restaurant is where many meals can be offered and it is the main place to eat if not wandering and indulging in the other delightful places. The menu is extensive and varied with attentive service. The service at all dining venues is outstanding and personal. I did not have a bad meal anywhere on our Viking Ocean cruises and would love to take these restaurants home.
@@visitwithus, happy you like my opinions. I have enjoyed enough of the Viking Ocean Cruises (and Rivers) to be spoiled. Your video was so good it made my day. Thanks for all your hard work!
Thank you, great film footage and commentary, was there real maple syrup in restaurants or that cheap sugary fake stuff? (Maple syrup is expensive, here in Canada where we produce the most we pay about $30 a litre for organic. The Halibut (my fav) with the arugula looked nice.
Can't address maple syrup, we make our own here in MI so didn't bother with it. The Halibut was always exquisite as was the ocean bass, salmon, grouper, fish I'd never heard of, so I had some every day!
Thanks for watching Edward. Mamsens is definitely worth the wait. I could literally eat everything they offer. Given a long enough cruise, I probably would! :D
QUESTIONS: We are goingn on our 1st Viking Ocean Cruise in on 4/24/2022. Couple of questions: 1) We bought the drinks package. Do we get the higher end wine on all diners or just at the Chefs Table? 2) Does the buffet serve Alaskan King Crab legs? If so, every day or just one? Thank you
On our World Cruise in the World Cafe it seems there was King crab legs, shrimp, octopus & calamari available every dinner or lunch, lobster often, also Tomahawk steaks, sushi bar and lovely lamb chops. Fish of every imaginable variety, some fresh anchovies and sardines, etc. Hope your cruise was a lovely adventure!
When was Abraham Lincoln on a Viking cruise, and why was he allowed to bring an axe aboard, and did he not realize there are no trees to cut on a ship? Great video, as always.
There's a great little story behind the crockery. From what I can remember when it was told to us, Karine Hagen was going through some personal possessions of her aunt who recently had passed away and found a crockery set in the loft in a cardboard box. She loved it so much, she had a company faithfully re-create it and that became the Mamsens crockery! I just love the little details, don't you? :D
Thanks for your feedback (as always most appreciated). As for wine, we are very easily pleased and have simple wine tastes. I'm afraid our wine knowledge would look very amateurish compared to an enthusiast. :)
Beautiful video. But my wife and I eat 100% plant-based. No meat, no fish, no dairy, nothing manmade, and no alcohol. We drink tea. We can have oatmeal and fruit for breakfast. We would like salads, cooked vegetables, fresh cooked beans (not canned), and whole grains for our other meals, with fresh fruit for dessert. Simple food. Is this possible on Viking Cruises? Thank you.
As we have no dietary requirements it’s hard to assess how well they would be able to meet your requirements. However we did find the whole experience and everyone we encountered from booking through to disembarkation to be very attentive and accommodating so I’m sure they would do their upmost for you 👍
NO., No, No , Noooooooooo, Nooooo. If you are vegans you will starve. If you are Vegetarians you can inform them six months in advance and they will ignore you. If you want no alcohol in your cabin they will leave it in the fridge. Lactose and Gluten intolerance is something they have heard of, but as it only applies to weird people, they just pretend to try and help.
I like cereal for breakfast and on my two Viking Ocean cruises I have found the cereal selection very poor, just cornflakes or all bran. The full english breakfast looks great, but I know from experience I have to eat fibre at breakfast or I will regret it for the rest of the day.
After trying two other cruise lines, I just returned from my second cruise with Viking three weeks ago. All the dining venues are excellent, but surprisingly my favorite meal was the cheese steak sandwich and a cold beer at the Pool Grill. The touted Nordic Hot Dog wasn't my thing (a foot long beef dog covered in shrimp salad) but my petite wife devoured it. While the Covid protocols were an inconvenience, the ship was only a third full of guests but with a full crew complement making it seem more like a private yacht experience.
Ah, the beers at the Pool Grill. I tried them all, and particularly liked the strong Norwegian ale. Can't remember the name of it. We could get used to travelling less than half full eh? ;)
We had a capacity of about 900 and there were approximately 500, I heard the Jupiter (our sister ship) had 125. But we still had a full crew, they did a lot of pacing & knew every one of us by name!
For me, there is nothing like a cheese burger and fries with some onion rings on the side. Sadly, I didn't know they had beer. I think I'll just have to take another cruise.
I booked a Viking ocean cruise based on Ben And David’s food review video. Yours reaffirms that I made the right call. So excited!!! Is it worth getting the drinks package, or are the complimentary drinks sufficient?
Thanks for watching Eastside Guy. We really appreciate it and hope you've subscribed. :) YES, the drinks package is well worth it and we think it's the best value drinks package out there. :)
Drink package worth it if both guests are drinkers. However, prices for individual drinks are reasonable if you opt out of drink package. Also complimentary wine and beer at lunch and dinner makes drink package less important.
@@visitwithus Agree with James. You certainly get enough beer and wine with lunch & dinner! But ordering and paying for individual specialty drinks is very reasonable.
We just got back from a Viking cruise. I must say the quality and variety of food was excellent. We absolutely loved Chef's Table ! But, Manfredi's was a real disappointment. I live in Italy and it tasted like Italian food for Americans.
Oh dear, sorry you had a bad experience. We never experienced cold cheese or cold plates (presumably you mean in the buffet or the main dining room?) and as coffee drinkers we were happy with the coffee machine. Thanks for watching though 👍
It's odd that they haven't offered one of the many excellent 'Beyond Meat' style burgers out there but I'm sure that will change soon. Many of the other luxury lines now do. :)
@@janet1717 yes it has the veggie burger. It’s even shown on the video. It’s the only option though and that was our point. We think there should be a few more veggie options on that menu. 🙂
Thanks for watching Robert. Yes, I think we mentioned in the video you could eat there every meal every day and not really miss the other venues. The Restaurant really is that good! :D
Haha! To be fair Barbara I asked for the eggs 'over easy' and unless you specify you like them 'sealed but still runny', chefs tend to overcook them this way. I find 'sunny side up' to be too undercooked as a rule. :)
I think most of the venues offer a gluten free option but maybe check with you TA or ask Viking directly if you have any dietary concerns/requirements. Thanks for watching.
You didn't say anything about leg room when the seat in front is reclined all the way back, as usually happens on a long flight. My husband and me had only a 7 hour flight in premium economy on a 787-9 and when the person in front of me reclined their seat all the way back I had virtually no knee room - and I'm only 5ft8inches. also on this flight while dinner was still happening the "gentleman" in front of me reclined their seat all the way back suddenly and I had to scoop up the plates, glass and cutlery before all of the food and my drink including hot coffed tipped all over me. The lack of leg room was the biggest disappointment we had with premium economy - yes, it's better than economy (criminal how that is) but when paying about half to two-thirds more it was a major disappointment (and what a mess it could have been if my barely touched dinner had ended up on me).
It looks like an Amazing cruise line and just up our alley. I still can't get past their incident at sea when their ship stopped in rough waters because they forgot to fill up the oil. The videos of people being airlifted off the ship in rough waters was a cruisers worst nightmare to watch.
OMG! That food looks absolutely delicious! And I love listening to your voice and your clever sense of humor. Helen is a very lucky woman! If you ever decide to go gay, feel free to call me! LOL! :-D
Haha! Thanks for watching and your lovely/cheeky words David. I'm pretty sure I'll never be gay but regardless it's so nice to get a compliment so thank you - I'm blushing here! 😂
As a professionally trained chef, I was not very impressed with what you presented. Aesthetically, they looked great, but I guess most of the meals are to appeal to the British pallet. Also, I've never heard a non vegetarian say " I was disappointed in the limited vegetarian options"
We just got off the Venus from the 1/12/22 to 1/23/22. This video shows upload of 1/23/22. No bright sun on the northern Norway tour. So, I don’t know when this was recorded. It is a true video though food wise.
Hi Janet. This was filmed last summer when the Viking Venus was doing her UK voyages. The sunny days were filmed in Falmouth UK. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Hi Janet. How was the trip? We are about to do the Northern Lights trip on March 1 and are a little concerned about the impact of Covid - don't want to get stuck in a room! Did you have cases on board and were your excursions impacted?
@@shellyharris7650 ship skipped 3 ports. I called the captain, captain scardy pants. Stavanger was skipped since a ship arriving there spread virus. They are evaluating what to do in the future. The winds were bad, but I think captain is young and wants to keep his job. I felt safe covid wise tho. They are doing whatever to keep people safe. 2 in UK tested positive and were not allowed to board. It rained almost constantly in tromso. No one is really allowed “out and about” at all. The brown goat cheese is Myseost and it tastes more like caramel than cheese really, so it fits the pancake theme before anyone gag too hard :)

Thank you for watching and commenting. Sounds like a great experience 👍
Wow, thank you SO MUCH Deb. What a wonderfully kind comment. You've made my week. 🥰
Beautiful Video & Presentation! We are going on Our First Viking Ocean ( we've been on two Viking River cruises) in November Bangkok to Bali. I am looking so forward to enjoying Location, Ship, And the FOOD! LOL
Thank you for watching 😊
The food is incredible 😋
As a producer myself, I was torn between admiring your cinematography techniques and the content of this Viking Cruise video! Well done indeed!
Wow, thank you so much! I hope you've subscribed as we've got some incredible footage coming up of some incredible places! :)

Love the Viking Ocean Cruises. The crew serve whatever you choose to eat with love!
I'm sure they do. There's a very strong 'can do' vibe on board. :)
We've just been living it vicariously through others, getting excited to try again for our 30th 😉

@@bryanchalker Honestly Bryan, that's very kind of you, thank you! Being 51 myself, we have reached the travelling stage in our lives just a tiny bit before you, but believe me, it's SO worth it when it finally arrives! :D
@@bryanchalker i thought the same thing! a relaxing to watch but educational too - loved it.
Beautifully done video. I love the food presentation but also love the design of the ships themselves. The interior spaces are really lovely.
Thank you Bryan. We really appreciate your kind words. We hope you also subscribe. :)
I finished a cruise on the Viking Sky last week. The food was exceptional.
We couldn't agree more. Definitely a highlight of any Viking cruise! :D

Ah, memories! I’ve been on 2 Viking Ocean Cruises with 2 more booked this year. I love all of the venues but Mamsen’s waffles & Afternoon Tea are my (current) favorites. I can’t wait to get onboard again!

This was an outstanding video. We are taking our 3rd Viking Ocean cruise in September which will be our first since 2019 and I wanted a refresher course for dining onboard. This was exactly what I needed. I'm very impressed with your videography and curious what camera you use and what resolution it was shot in?
Thank you for watching and for your kind comments. We generally use our Sony DSLR in 4k resolution 👍
@visitwithus I'll be traveling with my Sony A6700 this trip but I mainly shoot photos. I think it would take me a long time to get to your level of videos
Your best video yet 👌🏼
Wow, thanks Nina! I was particularly pleased with this one and I must say I think it's our best Dining Guide to date. :)
Thanks for watching Pat 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Never get tired of your UA-cams.
Cheers Greg. Really appreciate your support. Loads more 1st Class stuff coming imminently, so please stay tuned. :D
Outstanding review of the dining options on Viking Ocean. Thank you!
Thank you ☺️
Honestly, traditional elegant clothing like that would be PERFECT for such an elegant cruise line. It's as refined as your taste in dresses. :D
Question, how you compare this old to seaborn? How about the service?
A pleasure to watch.Brilliant! and in answer to the question , Who sang My name is Luka? Suzanne Vega

Thank you 😊
And thanks for watching 👍
Question:
Is the main dining at set times or by reservation or something else?
@@visitwithus Awesome. This video is so bad for my diet. The food is an adventure in itself. Cheers! 🙂

We are 28 days away from our second Viking cruise. Starting in Barcelona and ending in Greece. We can’t wait.
Aww man, I wish we were coming with you. Sounds delightful! :D
@@erics607 no, we always did breakfast in the World Cafe. I’m sure breakfast in the Restaurant would be great.
Breakfast in The Restaurant is superb Eric. I think next time we cruise with Viking, we'll probably do it more often than not. :)

Are Viking cruises like other cruise lines in that when ordering in the restaurants, one can order more than one entree?
A good question Paul, and one I can’t answer with authority, although I will say I always follow this mantra. Always ask - if they say no, ask someone else. 😂
This is a great video and great guide to Viking. Thank you for walking us through your experience. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you Daniel. :)
I have always enjoyed a side of shrimp with many meals.)
Manfredi's Italian is not just good it is very good.
This is a great summary of all the venues Gene. Thank you and we really appreciate your opinions, which nearly exactly align with ours. :)

We are goingn on our 1st Viking Ocean Cruise in on 4/24/2022. Couple of questions:

2) Does the buffet serve Alaskan King Crab legs? If so, every day or just one?

Yes, that is the direct translation, although I do like to keep with the untranslated names just to give myself a bit of a challenge lol.
Why did I watch this before lunch. I’ll never learn. Absolutely obsessed with their crockery too.
Good one. Looks like delicious food…
It most certainly WAS! :D
I notice that Mamsen’s has eschewed the lutefisk…..

Dear Rich and Helen, Some time, please consider offering your preferences on wines you enjoy on board.
Thanks for your feedback (as always most appreciated). As for wine, we are very easily pleased and have simple wine tastes. I'm afraid our wine knowledge would look very amateurish compared to an enthusiast. :)
@@visitwithus My former boss also had simple wine taste: "It's all 12 percent."

Thanks for watching Owen 👍
I hope the chefs table is open in October 2022.
Thanks for watching. Hope you got to enjoy Chefs Table - one of (if not the ) our favourite restaurants at sea 👍😋
We could get used to travelling less than half full eh? ;)
Agree on their ale.@@visitwithus
We had a capacity of about 900 and there were approximately 500, I heard the Jupiter (our sister ship) had 125. But we still had a full crew, they did a lot of pacing & knew every one of us by name!
For me, there is nothing like a cheese burger and fries with some onion rings on the side. Sadly, I didn't know they had beer. I think I'll just have to take another cruise.
The flat cake you had is called Goro(or a replica of it) its actually a norwegian x mas cake;=)
I didn't know that Preben. Thank you. Whatever I though it was, it was delicious! :D
@@jamesvokral4934 this is all true James. Thanks for your input. :)
Thanks for watching and your comment. 'Italian food for Americans' - that's a very interesting take on Manfredi's. :)
No tea facility in cabin, fridge cold cheese , cold plates :-(

Sad to see no vege burgers. Perhaps that may have changed before our cruise 🤞🤞
It's odd that they haven't offered one of the many excellent 'Beyond Meat' style burgers out there but I'm sure that will change soon. Many of the other luxury lines now do. :)

All looks delicious but that drued up fried egg in the breakfast plate needs binning!
Haha! To be fair Barbara I asked for the eggs 'over easy' and unless you specify you like them 'sealed but still runny', chefs tend to overcook them this way. I find 'sunny side up' to be too undercooked as a rule. :)
Excellent, but a bit too much time spent on the structure or area vs. the food itself

Thanks for watching 👍
It looks like an Amazing cruise line and just up our alley. I still can't get past their incident at sea when their ship stopped in rough waters because they forgot to fill up the oil. The videos of people being airlifted off the ship in rough waters was a cruisers worst nightmare to watch.

I felt safer in the UK where we stayed with friends 3 days. All are masked there.
@@janet1717 Thanks so much for the intel! Hoping restrictions will lighten up a bit by then and that we have good weather. They already rerouted our trip from Stavanger to a port in Scotland. Thanks again!
The British choice look very pedestrian and not appealing. But I do think the Asian choice was most acceptable then unremarked British dish. I do wish Thayer a French based option. I do miss paris
That’s what we love about the Chefs table restaurant - the variety of menus that they offer. Something for everyone - just chose your evening there when it’s a menu you like 👍
Thanks for watching 😊
