Jonny Pierce se hizo cargo en solitario, ya hace unos años, de The Drums. Su enorme ego y sus muchas neuras personales han hecho que sea difícil convivir con él. Tras años de silencio discográfico, en concreto desde "Abysmal Thoughts" de 2019, resurge cuan ave fenix con esta canción, que se espera que forme parte de un próximo disco, aunque todavía no se ha anunciado. El propio Jonny Pierce ha comentado que "La canción nació del anhelo y el dolor que surgieron de una infancia sin amor. En los últimos años comencé realmente a comprender lo que me sucedió cuando era niño, lo que me ayudó a empezar a construir mi propio puente hacia el amor verdadero. Es toda una declaración en la que hablo de tomar todo lo que no me dieron de pequeño. Quiero la experiencia completa del ser humano, que incluye amor y conexión. Lo quiero todo". Con el estreno de "I Want It All", The Drums anuncia una gira por Estados Unidos y Canadá entre julio y agosto.

Now that I know the backstory of this song it means so much more to me, I have a similar history and I could never articulate how I feel about my mother in way that was meaningful enough that those around me would understand, I’m looked at as crazy for wanting her. This was a confirmation that I need to be that person in my life, and show up for myself in the ways I always needed.
What a banger, gives me real Portamento vibes which I absolutely love, have never stopped listening to that album.

I was feeling sad and a lot of anxiety. But after hearing this song. I went into my music studio and I jammed for an hour and a 1/2. It's music like this brings me back to reality. I just needed to push thanks guys.
This gives me pormento vibes and memories of nostalgia, trying to get by in my life discovering/listening to that wonderful album, thank you guys for coming out with stuff still, your sweet sound is never looked down on.
I completely agree - remember seeing them during those years at the HMV Ritz in Manchester and what a fantastic live performance they gave. Still trying to get by but we have perfect music as a backdrop.

I heard this song for the first time in Books A Million last week (thanks Shazam). Feels so nostalgic. The meaning behind it is quite poignant, as I'm sort of estranged from my parents recently... "You think you grow out of it and you move on, but you’d be surprised just how much of that sticks with you, well into adulthood."

Dear Jonny, I started listening to The Drums back in High School when the first album dropped, it was basically the soundtrack of my early youth and first heartbreak, after all these years with this album where its just you, makes everything so special and even more nostalgic than the first time..
