This was such fun to watch! Does that motor, with 7 poles, have a ton of torque? This engine is super cool...hope you show it operating with the front truck at some point. And being rough reminds me of some short line consolidations I've seen...that were well past their prime and operating on rail lines using deferred=no maintenance
I'm not sure how much more torque the motor has, but it has very little at low power because the field magnet is lower too; however I think it's a lot smoother than a 3 pole. I have plans to adapt a 7 pole into a Flyer engine at some point! I had considered painting it because it was covered in a layer of smoke dust, but for now will leave the patina. I will be adding a working headlight for sure, and need to fix the bent axle. I found some 36" radius track which makes a huge circle. Have to figure out where to put that! I kinda would like a layout that could accommodate all 3 scales. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm not bored with Flyer but these other trains are growing on me. I really love the wood and metal constructed trains. Guess I have to partly blame Mr. LCW!😀
Great video, I find vintage O scale brass like this very interesting
Very nice. You made a good runner and good consist for it.
Very nice.
I'm sure some extra love and care will follow this locomotive after the holidays.
Enjoy it. 😊
Indeed. Need to fix the bent axle and will probably add a headlight. Paint maybe in the summer. Thanks for watching!
Great job
Very nice work, I really like how it turned out!
Thanks! This was a really fun project. I have a few more like this.
Nice job 👍
Thank you!

@MygrandpasTrain absolutely! Nothing wrong with branching out. It will certainly help you chanel grow if that is a goal.
