My son and I got to visit in November. It was amazing! Such wonderful people. Such an easy city to walk around. We walked to the new Carp Stadium. When we went to Itsukushima Shrine but it was covered over and we missed high tide. I recommend the private ferry too and the 🍊 sherbet.
Another great stream like your Twich channel it was like traveling with a local at you side. Always look forward to your streams you an Kanai stay safe as nd healthy.
Miyajima is a beautiful place. There’s an interesting Starbucks there with one wall covered in wooden Rice paddles - a well known craft of the area I believe. My hotel in Hiroshima looked over the inland sea and was so special when eating breakfast looking out across all the little islands there.
I camped there one weekend many years ago, 1989 to be exact. Very painful. My friends and I biked there from Iwakuni. While I was cruising downhill, a car passed me, got in front of me, and hit the brakes. I hit the car and flew over. She left, then came back later with a box of bandages. Took a lot of bandages to cover up the road rash.
I enjoyed exploring Hiroshima. The atomic bomb dome is what is left of a much larger building. The site has been preserved so rubble from the building remains scattered around the site. At night the building is lit up in green. Quite eerie at night. I note signs around the peace park indicating drones are not allowed.
I really really love Miyajima , i have been there 3 times and all time i loved it. last time i entered inside the shrine too and could take great videos. The Deers of this wonderfull island are more quite than one of Nara 😁
Excellent episode. I know that you have covered Tokyo extensively from street level. How about doing a Google Earth episode (or episodes) on Tokyo? Would be a very different perspective. Keep these awesome episodes coming!
That footage of the deer coming into your tent was amazing...lol!! It's amazing what you can see with google earth. I 'visited' my great grandmother's village in Poland where she was born via google! That might be the closest I ever get to it. Better than nothing. Thanks for the tour around Miyajima!
Hi John, Kanae. Watched most of your live feed but had to leave. Back now and watched it through. Nice. That was interesting and maybe you could do more of those. I see you have rain at the moment. Anyway, thank you again and please you & your wife stay safe.
What I meant about "Is it like every other Australian dislike Sydney people?" is like what your comment at 1:31:45? Not in a bad way, it's the QLD vs NSW ruby kind of way. I vote to do a Mohawk for a haircut (I got my mom to cut my hair as well) Have you tried to do a deep fried Mars bar? I still haven't tried it yet
Hi John, Been enjoying your videos during quarantine. We were just on Miyajima this past New Year's Eve. I wish it was as empty as google earth. It was super packed, wall to wall people. Lots of delicious street food. Tori was being repaired so it was competely covered. Last time we were there was 14 years ago and it sure got very commercialized. There were lots of deer though.

John, once again great live stream. It would be great to see some of the out of the way towns that you visited through Google Earth as well.

New Years Eve might be the busiest day of the year for itsukushima
Lawson
Seven Eleven
Family Mart
All superior to US shops
But who is better of the 3?
(1) 7-Eleven
(2) Family Mart
(3) Lawsons
My top three - also based on sales.
I finally got to watch this! Too much writing, too much work might turn me into a dull boy :D
Obviously the deer was taught no manners:) Now you know why you didn't seem them with all the businesses closed:)
Hello from Kure-shi
When I was there Sept 2019 the Tori gate was under repair and covered over.
Me too. Bummer. I abused the local brewery instead :-)
