- In this video I show the steps and procedures necessary to replace a lower control arm & ball joint on a 2015 and newer F-150. Overall the job is not too difficult however there are some tips and tricks I show along the way to make the job go by a little easier. The truck we are working on today is a 2015 Ford XL 2wd.. We are experiencing some play in the lower driver side ball joint. I am replacing the whole control arm due to the age of the vehicle and the mileage. It is possible to press a new ball joint into the existing control arm however it’s much quicker just to replace the whole unit. Below are links to parts and tools that are used during this video thank you for watching

You sir, make the easiest and most pleasurable videos to watch. Seriously, very detailed and awesome!
Dude, you make the best videos on the Internet you’ve got precise and detailed information without overloading the video, your non-pretentious and keep the work clean and pure
If there was an only fans for mechanics and DIYers he’d be filthy Rich keep it up brother
Included the torque specs, links to parts and tools, you sir are awesome, thank you
Thank you sir for sharing got my truck lower control arm done.
Good Clear Video! Helped a lot! Thanks it was pretty quick for a first time.
That's a nice color on that control arm😎
Aaron, Love your videos. Hope you keep posting new material
Love this channel. Hope you upload more
That was super easy
This has been a great video. Unfortunately the nut or threads on my sway bar link is stripped and the nut only spins in place...
What happen to that jack? You are missing a front caster lol. Great video and thanks for helping us.
Any reason you did the whole arm vs just the ball joint?
Thanks for the video, very helpful. I am looking to possibly replace mine, but looking at replacing just the ball joint.
How do you know where to tighten the two lower bolts. There is space to play with
Hi Aaron was wondering I you co make a video on installing a blow by catch on f150 2.7 eco boost? And will you recommend installing one on my truck?
As owner of an early 15, what is the difference between the early and mid/late 2015 lower control arms?
Edit: It looks like a great time to replace front struts.
the control arm bushings are different sizes. in 2014 they made a new control arm design and used it until 2/16/15 for some reason.
Is it difficult to replace just a ball joint?
Hi Aaron , love the channel pal.
What OTC scanner do you use ?
Is the process different for 4x4?
How to adjust cam bolt. Lets say put new lower control arm and new cam bolt how will i know that my alignment won’t be messed up
How well do you think paint would stick on these? Of a lifted truck would this be the best option or are there other brands you feel are as good or better?
Lower control arm will drop whith the last bolt removed. Yeah, I was already thinking that and the I saw you stick your finger in the bolt hole to push the bolt out. I cringed. Glad you're okay.
im trying to change the lower ball joint on my 2020 ford f 150. it looks similar to this. I am not replacing the control arm just the ball joint so how would i get the ball joint off the knuckle to change it.
A little late reply but a ball joint press with a 1/2in impact will do it.
is this similar to a 2013 lower control arm? cant seem to find a video on it
It's got cam align bolts only different
I do not reccomend mevotech ttx balljoints they ride bad they worn out after 50k and went back with factory and ride is dramatically smoother I thought mevotech made the best nope absolutely not metal on metal contact is bs harsher ride quality. Factorys probably last lifetime on my truck now .
Where the heck do you live? I’m in Massachusetts.. our vehicles have more rust than that while they’re still on the dealer lot. Lol
I think he mentioned in another comment he's in Arizona.
Yo Aaron what shop do you work at? I’m trying to delete my thermostat on my Silverado?? Help!!
I have a question about a part install if you can do or know. I have a 2017 2.7L eco and I bought the turbosmart suoersonic blow off valve. I tried to install it but the videos on it show a 3.5l instead and it's not the same engine design. I don't know where the evap hose it. Can you help?
Buy BigNasty Air hammer 2 min gettin ball joints out
On my f150 eco boost I got a slow coolant leak, that's leaking towards the rear of the engine, do you think it could be the o ring on the coolant crossover pipe?
Dylan, I'm sure you have fixed this by now, but very commonly the coolant line connectors start leaking on these ecoboosts. Most often it's the ones on the turbos. They are relatively inexpensive parts but the o-rings wear out and this creates a slow leak. Usually there won't be any evidence of a leak on the ground but you'll be adding coolant just the same. The more connectors affected (there are a total of six -- three on each side of vehicle), the more often you'll be adding coolant. Aaron does a video on replacing them. They're not easy to get to. I had to replace 5/6 on mine!!
Why would you not paint that black????
Because it’s going on the fleet vehicle and I can care less what color it’s going to be.
Right, Bill??? The black paint is so important for the performance and longevity of that ball joint. He's out of his mind for not painting it black.
@@jonfonts4050 its racist unless you paint it orange
