I am back with another Mamamoo reaction! lol I just can't get enough of these girls. I wanted to see them in action on Weekly Idol and I figured It would be a funny video for you guys. Obviously they work hard, they play a lot too. Sometimes when they're goofing around it's like watching kittens playing. They are adorable and your fun personality fits in well. I am looking forward to watching you take the journey and seeing it once again as if for the first time. I think that's why we love new Moomoos, it's like playing a favorite game again knowing what's around each turn.

You should definitely react to Gfriend! They’re just as wild as Mamamoo and all have amazing vocals as well, not to mention they’re widely known as the best girl group when it comes to dancing, so I’m sure you’ll love them :)

This is exactly how I felt when my best friend got me into Mamamoo! XD Had to find every video I could, all the ship videos, look up lyrics, etc., and there is so much to see!

Gfriend is pronounced G-friend just so you know, there is/was another group called Girlfriend. Mamamoo has done a lot of shows with Gfriend and are generally ranked as 4th and 5th most popular girl groups right behind the big 3 groups. They have the same energy off stage while on stage Gfriend has super good dancing where Mamamoo has super good vocals. Not that either group lack in either of those it's just what they focus on. Both groups are pretty shy among strangers but are hype af when comfortable, which is why this seems awkward lol.
And even the shortest member of GFriend is taller than Byul [Tallest of Mamamoo] lol ;)

ohno, be very wary of the mamamoo/gfriend videos. they will absolutely make you fall for gfriend, as well
it's hard to believe this wasn't their first interaction, since they start out so shy around each other, but they had a 'waiting room date' a little over a year before this weekly idol was filmed. gfriend stormed in to hang out with mmm for a few minutes while they filmed for vapp. then several months later they filmed the 'mamamoo/gfriend showtime' series together and almost a year after that was over, they did this weekly idol. (mind you, in the showtime series, they mostly filmed separately since they were both so busy with promoting and such at the time, so only real interactions during the first and last episodes)

Also, I just love to listen to songs of Mamamoo, BTS, EXO, Stray kids, Oneus, Onewe, Vromance, Monsta X, BTOB, Highlight /Beast/, Blackpink and Ailee too.
just so you (jen) know, oneus, onewe and vromance are all under rbw, rainbow bridge world, mamamoo's agency. expect an extreme amount of talent for all these groups, though they each focus on vastly different things.
vromance is the oldest 'brother' group and quite similar to mmm in a lot of ways. they focus more on vocals, have crazy harmonies and such. unfortunately, i believe they all recently enlisted, so we'll have a few years before more from them.
oneus is more the typical kpop boy group, flashy choreography (that they work on themselves, unlike many groups), crazy rapping and such, but also add divine vocals to that...from every member, not just some. one of the rappers gets compared to byul quite a bit, heavenly vocals when singing, hellishly deep voice when rapping. they only debuted at the beginning of this year, but made quite an impact already (and there are a crazy number of good rookie groups this year).
onewe is an actual band, lead singer, keyboards, lead guitar, bass, drums. like, real instruments. and still, virtually all of them are great vocalists, one is also an almost unexpectedly good rapper (i say 'almost' here because it's rbw, we've come to expect multitalented artists out of this agency. and this vocalist/rapper is also an amazing producer, on top of the rest). they also debuted... or more redebuted... this year. they used to be a group called 'm.a.s.' under another agency, debuted, nothing terribly much happened, then their agency folded or something. they came under rbw as a group, went back into training for two more years, changed their name (and released some stuff with oneus when both groups together got called 'rbw boys'), did some underground shows before this year's debut. things seem to be going well for them, though bands seem to have trouble making an impact in kpop (a few big ones get known, others just kind of vanish...) since kpop fans seem to really enjoy dancing over instruments. onewe has also backed up all of their sibling groups at concerts, music shows and things, including being the band in several of mmm's end of year award show performances, being the band in solar's "it's been a long time" and the guitarist performing a remake of the trot song "chan chan chan" with her on a music competition
also, oneus and onewe are more brother groups than the term typically means... they've got a pair of twins split between them, one brother in oneus, the other in onewe

Mamamoo are known for being beagles. They are loud and always have fun. In Korea these companies make their artist act a certain way. So you don't get to see their true swlves. But Mamamoo from day one has shown shown who they are. One thing they shared is that, when asked if their comapny ask them to tone it down or get embarrassed. They said no their comapny encourages it. They let them be exactly who they are.
early on, the agency tried to keep them 'in line' like other companies do with their idols, but mmm kept doing their thing anyway, then the "how to play in the car" episode of mmmtv was released (complete with their bit about the ceo), people loved seeing how they act and the agency decided "ok, people love seeing them act like themselves, lets encourage this instead of suppress it". just need more agencies to try that...
now the ceo is one of the people who tries to ramp them up before they go perform (there's clips of that for "taller than you" livestages, as an example)

Yeah, in terms of honerifics and stuff. You have to always like ask if someone you don't know is older or younger than you and if they have "higher ranking" than yours(workplace wise). And then there's the whole formal/informal with elders/children. It's a whole other world of also understanding the culture to get to learn the language.
As someone who's trying to learn Korean by myself, it's a process as I already know English and Danish.

In most of the first world, driving licences are way harder to get than in the USA (mine took something like 20 hours of mandatory classes, 10 hours of mandatory driving lessons, followed by driving test and written test), but Korea is not that strict (mandatory classes are just 3 hour safety course, I believe). But that’s not really the point. Adults generally do make the time to get the licence. I believe the real issue is that a lot of idols are not allowed (by contract) to drive, or they might get independent and go places without the managers’ knowledge. Also the fact that they are super-busy, and it’s not allowed to sleep in the car when you’re the one behind the wheel.
Idols who live in dorms (company-chosen apartments) don't need to drive to work, and if they are busy enough, they would have all the expenses of owning a car (parking, insurance) and no time to drive!

You should react to them as well... Specially their x2 dances.... Mamamoo is know for harmonizing songs.... Gfriend is known for their very synchronized dances
Yup, they are among the top groups at doing x2 dances because of how they learn their choreography as well as what their dance style is referred to as. "Knife-like Choreography" where everything is crisp & timed. As for how they learn, they will put the song on repeat & will repeat the dance over & over & over again

Just to clarify for you about the solo stages as it was confusing when I was trying to catch up. There are 8 separate stages in the 4 season 4 color concerts. 2 for each member. the S/S concerts are different to the F/W concerts solo stages. There's also a lot of funny video skits they did for the concert interludes too that are worth seeing including the 1cm skit which is hilarious.

The Solar/Eric Nam is from a show where they make fake celebrity couples, because that's a thing korean fans like, even though they can't handle it when celebrities are in a real relationship...

@@kalaksed Well, you can't really take these relationships seriously, it's a job and they're acting, it's like a korean drama. And you never know what kind of relation they have behind the scenes, they might just barely be friendly, the same way you never know if they keep in touch because it's their personal life
@@monsomnia yup, though in this case it seems obvious they didn't keep in touch just from eric's reactions in that one show... i'm glad the show happened, since he was a good english teacher for their time together, even though it's such a weird and awkward premise
just what i do find odd is the people who, even today, talk about how solar and eric are perfect for each other and need to 'get back together' (...they weren't together in the first place, people) and respond with a "no, she's eric's!" at any hint that she might be interested in somebody
