Every once in awhile you’ll find a pop artist that decides to do something different than the rest, and it’s beautiful. Too bad most sound like they rolled off an assembly line.
I really like the song alot. It's really different. He just turned 22 like a week ago so when this all was released he was 21. Alledgedly he had been working on everything for like three years. This music though according to him was written in like 20 minutes. I heard that he was in college for music after high school real briefly. I think he left when covid hit since he went to TikTok in 2020. He's been all over in touring. He was really good in getting noticed and going viral I guess from the begining on TikTok. I don't get on TikTok but I found him on UA-cam and then I just started reading. Thanks for your review. ✌️
Don't know if you have heard of him or not but you should check out Dimash Kudaibergen. He is an extremely talented singer / musician from Kazakstan. He became famous for his rendition of "SOS d'un terrien en destress", a song from a 1970's rock opera, Starmania. He is said to have the greatest voice in the world and believe me, he has the chops to back it up. He has a wide range of music and styles and has performed / produced many music videos. Check out his BIO, it is most impressive. If you like him, check out his work in chronological order to here his music and ability to sing in various languages improve.
I really enjoy watching a review that isn't gushing over the song. You didn't love it, didn't hate. You liked it -- a fair assessment. I do tend to get obsessed with songs, so I love this one, and I'm a fan of Twenty 0ne Pil0ts (my daughter is in the skeleton click, so I've been schooled in the proper way to write their name, with zeroes instead of O's -- LOL). I'm also old school pop / light rock / bubblegum -- Osmonds, Carpenters, and yes, dare I say it here? Manilow. Don't hate me. ;) I'm going to go check out what else you've reacted to. Might even subscribe if you've got more like this.
I'm with you on this.... it's a solid anthemic chorus, but I'm not a fan of the rap-esque thing. I like the fluttery piano line too. I'd like to hear someone with a strong voice sing it tho- a Lewis Capaldi or similar with lots of thick cord closure who can move some air with a proper wail, if you will. The pop thing, over the last decade in particular, where there is a lot of nasality for (to my ears a cheap & nasty form of...) brightness in male vocals, is underwhelming to me. Having said that, this is still miles better than most of the vapid rubbish that tends to fill the charts & radio play these days! :)
Given that I mentioned him here, to get an idea of what I mean about Lewis Capaldi's voice, check out this capture of just him wailing & a piano sometime. This is one of the first songs he wrote in his teens #CrazyTalented If you're not impressed, I'll give you your money back myself! LOL ua-cam.com/video/sB8n58FHBxw/v-deo.html
Thanks so much for 1k! I appreciate the support more than you know!
